We did a tasting today at 4 pm. We had the lounge area with comfy leather sofas. I liked the Willow White best. It's very smooth and more complex than the rose. I'm not a Red drinker. Great tasting. Great helpful and interesting staff. Highly recommend

Like so many places, we became aware of Turtle Rock from a recommendation. After sharing our love of Saxum, our friend at Bien Nacido recommended Turtle Rock. He literally said, "You need to check out Turtle Rock, they're doing great things and get in on their wine club before its too late!" - and so we did! Nothing about Turtle Rock disappoints. We were able to snag a Fall 2024 allocation and tucked it away to rest for the next several years. Still never trying their wines, we found ourselves driving through Paso and decided to give TR a ring to see if they had any tasting appointments. To our surprise they did! Perfect! And they were pet friendly - yay! Located in Tin City, Turtle Rock has a smaller tasting room footprint, with a sizeable comfy outdoor seating area and a nice private tasting room. The decor is everything I adore: lovely polished gnarled woods, juxtaposed with iron and concrete, but a warmth that emanates from within - which I will fully credit to the staff! Turtle Rock is indeed doing great things! You'll find juice from epic vineyards like G2 and elsewhere. These wines are good now, but will definitely age well with a few years.

    The lineup for our tasting.

Turtle Rock Winery in the Tin City complex was excellent. Chris (who was managing the tasting room when we arrived) was delightful. He made us feel comfortable and was extraordinarily knowledgeable. He clearly enjoyed sharing his insights about the Paso Robles wine & vineyards scene. 4-stars for our first-ever Tin City Paso visit.

We stopped by Turtle Rock on a whim . We had a reservation nearby, we were early, and it was raining outside. I am so glad we stopped in. They made time for us between their appointments. Sage was our guide and he did a great job of explaining the wines. We loved our stop, and we bought lots of wines.

Absolutely brilliant wines, and great people. Always have to make a stop when in Paso.

Wines are phenomenal!!! Unique blends and top notch wine portfolio. Had a fantastic experience at Turtle Rock and Chris went way above and beyond. He bent over backwards to accommodate our reservation and was a phenomenal host. One of the most hospitable and genuine guys we met while we visited Paso Robles. Great wine knowledge and fun to chat with. Can't say enough about our visit and the amazing wines. Thank you Chris and Turtle Rock!!!

Quality exceeds expectation. Turtle Rock is producing cult level wines. Our visit was nothing less than spectacular. We have come to appreciate Paso Robles wines and wines tasted at Turtle Rock have fast forwarded to the top of our list. We tasted whites and reds and were impressed with both. Turtle Rock sources only the best fruit for their wines and specializes in blends. We were fortunate enough to spend time with the owners and learn more about the brand. Turtle Rock wines have scored in the high 90's and even 100 the past few years. We were so impressed we joined their wine club. We are currently on a wait list because others have also discovered this outstanding wine. Can't wait for our next visit.

We checked this place out at the recommendation of L'Aventure our favorite Paso winery. We liked the wines and our hostess was personable but could have been a little more friendly. Overall the experience and the wines were good but with the amount of excellent wine in Paso, not sure we would come back here for another visit. The place just didn't "wow" us.

Professional, friendly, and delicious. Couldn't recommend coming here more. We did one glass red tasting. It was delicious and a great experience.

Turtle Rock vineyards was a great place to visit. Their quaint tasting shop in Tin City was beautiful! The wine educator gave us so much information on not only their wines but the area as well.

Once I heard what happened I was more sad but happy to hear the new owner wants to continue Vina Robles. I wish as a member I would have gotten notified. Went to their new location which was really convenient since we were going to other wineries near there. It's still a big location. Plenty of seating and they still offer food which we were happy about. Our server was super sweet and knowledgeable which I always appreciate when it comes to wine. We started a tasting and then just tried whatever she gave us which we weren't complaining. Haha. All the wine she was giving us was really good. I was really impressed by their food. I wanted more of everything. We got their bruschetta al Fresco, hummus, monte Bianca pizza, and one other pizza. I fell in love with their bruschetta. We got there right as there kitchen closed which was a bummer because I wanted more. Overall, I still enjoy their wine. Their location is really nice. Food is delicious. I booked it online and then reserved online in their website. No phone call was needed. We reserved noon on Saturday and after all of our party arrived we went upstairs to our lovely comfy leather sofas to settle in for the duration. We were given 4 pizzas of our choice and 4 salads and served buffet style so everyone could load their plate. We also added 3 orders of yummy meatballs. I cut them in half for serving. Artichoke hearts appetizer, charcuterie board and more. They provided juice boxes for the little boys in our party. The food was more than enough for Lunch. We could have fed more people and we took home a lot of pizza. The Italian sausage pizza was very good but we had the hot honey on the side as none of the group was interested in it. The wine was good, as usual. I had only whites. The rest of the group had the standard white then red tasting. The sparkling rose is also very good and upstairs you have dedicated bottle server. Service was excellent. They had live music downstairs and a market event going with vendors selling goods for the holiday season. I love this venue and will return soon. Improvement needed. Buy some large paper plates for the buffet lunch. It's a shared food event. All we had was tiny appetizer plates. We asked for larger but they had none. ** edit. Update. The manager replied and has ordered larger plates so I'm happy to hear this. We are already talking about coming back again. Dec 18, 2025 The Cesar salad had nice shaved cheese but no salad dressing.

We are the type of members who always take great care of the staff and rarely leave without purchasing extra bottles, yet today we were treated like an inconvenience. Despite being told in the past that spontaneous visits were no problem for members, we were turned away on a gloomy Monday with plenty of open tables. The host at the entrance was incredibly dismissive and wouldn't even let us finish our sentence before cutting us off. We were told our only options were to come back in an hour, a "limited" tasting, drive all the way downtown, or just pick up our shipment and leave. We asked for the Wine Club Manager to resolve the situation, but she wasn't on-site. To be offered a "partial" tasting as a favor after nearly ten years of support was the final straw. It feels as though they now prioritize "closing" new members over honoring the people who have supported them for years. They've gone mainstream and lost the personal touch that made them special.

Quality/Quantity - After tasting a few wines, I settled on a glass of Pinot Noir. Atmosphere - Small tasting room, bar, indoor, and outdoor seating. Plus tasting. We compared stories and wineries, etc. Lastly, she gave us a tour of the facility as the production just ended. This was unexpected and really appreciated. Price - $18 + generous tip. I believe sometimes companies have off days, and employees may have a bad day, which can affect one's experience, thus I dont let one bad experience ruin a company's review. But when it comes to my CHILD, you best believe i will never forgive and forget or let our experience be forgotten. We visited this winery expecting a relaxing, family-friendly experience and instead left with our daughter crying after being scratched in the face near her eye by the owner's off-leash dog. What makes this especially frustrating is that the winery's own rules state dogs must be leashed, yet the owners' dogs were roaming the property freely. Our daughter was calmly petting one of the dogs with me standing directly beside her when the dog suddenly growled and scratched her across the face. This was completely unprovoked and witnessed by the owner himself, who said absolutely nothing afterward. No apology, no concern, no accountability. An employee later approached us and said, "Sorry, he's old and maybe didn't like that she was the same height as him, which made him react".....which felt less like accountability and more like an absurd attempt to excuse why a reactive dog was allowed to roam off leash around guests and children. We also observed the dogs behaving territorially toward other leashed dogs on the property, making it even more inappropriate that they were allowed off leash in a public setting. My father-in-law is a VERY well known, well respected, and prominent winemaker in Virginia and across the United States, if you know anything about wine, you know him. So lets say, we understand winery culture and hospitality, fairly well. Had something like this happened on his property, it would have been handled immediately and professionally with genuine concern for the injured guest.....especially a child. Watching the owner casually continue on in his conversation with whomever, and pet the dog like nothing happened while our daughter screamed and cried was honestly unbelievable. In my opinion, not worth the visit for the subpar wine, if you want to take your children/dog somewhere. The poodles were friendly to me, and other adults, until we saw their behavior to other dogs & then my child....The complete lack of concern from ownership after a child was injured was shocking. Frankly, they are fortunate we chose not to escalate the situation further. Parents should absolutely be cautious visiting here with children or pets. An off-leash dog with territorial behavior has no place interacting freely with guests. Absolutely shocked and the owner should be ashamed of his actions & response (or lack there of) to the situation.
