Summary (changed brand of glass to lower grade without asking, windshield installed has a defect, door jams or foot sills left dirty, driver side pillar not put back together properly, and large bead of silicone oozed out by the vin plate.) see pictures. Turtle seems to be a nice guy, was good on the phone and in person. Price was the best I could find being that my windshield has lane departure and it needed to replaced and re calibration done. I asked on the phone what brand glass he would use and he said the brand I was looking for. So I booked the appointment. Job was done on time, and so I came to pick up the car. Upon picking up the car with the new windshield installed I noticed a different brand glass, lower quality as far as what people say on the internet anyway. I asked him why that second grade glass is installed and he said the one I wanted was out of stock so he got the next best glass available. I did not like this but it was already installed... He also said " to be honest, they are all the same quality and thickness. So I went with it. Then when I pulled off the tape I noticed A defect in the glass. I think the tape over it was just coincidence, I don't think it was meant to cover it. I asked him to come out and look at the defect. He said "well if it spreads or gets any bigger I'll replace it." I asked how long and he said one year. That didn't sound that great to me but I went along with it being that it was already installed and I came from out of town with a family member to pick up the car. Once I got home I noticed the dirty door sills. A wipe down would have been nice as I had just detailed inside. Then I noticed the driver side pillar, which was not properly put back together. I popped the cover off and put it back the right way. Then today I checked my dash vin plate for something and noticed the large bead of silicon. Overall, this could have gone so much better. I ended up with the cheaper glass brand that I didn't want, and a windshield with a defect... Not really happy about this. But I'm a reasonable person and didn't want to make a huge deal of it. Make sure it's the same glass brand you ordered and look for defects etc... Turtle, I appreciate you doing the job, but wish you would have called when the brand of glass I wanted wasn't available... read more

Called Turttles on Tuesday afternoon regarding windshield replacement. They scheduled a technician for Wednesday around 3:00. Technician arrived on schedule and replaced the windshield. Later that same afternoon my husband noticed that they didn't replaced the piece where the wiper blade is attached. Since they were already closed for the evening I called the next morning and sent the picture below to the technician. He acknowledged the error and said he would return on Thursday around 3:00 to fix. He didn't show, but sent a text message saying he forgot and that he would come by on Friday. Didn't show. I sent a text message to him asking what happened. He read the text but didn't respond. Now I am forced to wait until Monday to get this fixed as they are closed over the weekend. Also, he did not send me a receipt for the replacement. read more

I called to get a quote for my broken side-by-side windshield that exploded on a tree when I was having fun in the wild. Turttle quoted $200 for the glass replacement which was not available through the manufacturer. They only sold it as a kit that cost $750 and requires me to change the metal shroud and seal out. Went to get it installed and due to some minor damage to the shroud the glass could not be set perfectly so Turttle offered to keep it over night to make the repair to the shroud and delivered/installed at my home the very next day - for the same $200 that he quoted me initially. Wow! What a great small business. Will definitely be going back there for all my glass needs in the future! read more

I scheduled an appointment with the owner himself on Wednesday, my appointment was today at 2:30pm. I arrived on time, the shop was closed up! I waited 15 minutes, thinking maybe he was out getting lunch. He never showed or called! Very disappointed as I've used them before without any issues. Although I've heard of this happening to other people as well. The technician spent about an hour replacing the passenger window, then told us the motor in the door was getting old and wouldn't properly raise the window. It's an older Prius, so we accepted this. Shortly after he left, we opened and tried to close the door, but something the technician had done to the panel was blocking it from closing smoothly. My husband accidentally shifted the lock when he was trying to see what was obscuring the door, and now the door is stuck ajar, the dash light is on, and the battery will drain. My husband called back, and Turttle's said "not my problem--I didn't touch the locks." While this is true, he did mess up the door panel, and now the car is in the shop at our expense. I would NOT recommend this company. (Folsom Lake Toyota Service Dept. had recommended this company to us.) read more
