Wow, what an amazing gem for the small quaint town of Mount Pleasant. This town has been plagued historically with low quality food, frozen garbage and lack of ambience. Finally, we can get a fresh high-quality meal at a fair price in the local town that we all love. The flavor and seasoning on all the food was fantastic truly delicious from the quality of the ingredients to the warmth and welcoming atmosphere of the new facility updates. Diner beware. Arrived for a first time visit to the Tuscan Table & Tavern for dinner. Upon entering the restaurant, we were shown to our table in the dining room. There was only one table of 4 ladies in the dining room. A server asked the ladies if they wanted desserts and they declined. Next the server asked the ladies if any needed to-go boxes. The server left and returned with boxes then acknowledged another table of two ladies who were seated at least 8 minutes after we were first seated saying he would be over to them shortly. We continued to sit and wait for a server to approach us for a first time. The server returned to the two ladies seated after we were and took their drink orders and walked away again without acknowledging us. At this point, we've been seated and waiting at least 14 minutes. At that point, my wife and I agreed to leave. As we walked to the door, I mentioned to the hostess our experience. She had no comment. I can not recommend this "restaurant " as there was zero service and maybe the same could be said about food. read more

Tuscan Table and Tavern, is a new addition to the Jaffre's restaurant group . Jaffre's took over the location of Leo's Pub in Mt Pleasant and opened their new restaurant in mid May of 2025. Being a new restaurant we were anxious to give it a try but apprehensive about how the service might be in a new restaurant. I'm happy to say that the service and the quality of food was excellent. Great find! We had the stuffed banana peppers for an app. Excellent! Nice kick to them. We had the focaccia zeppola sandwich and the pappardelle bolognese. Both meals were delicious. The bread was excellent! I had a side salad with the house white balsamic dressing. Delish! Service was excellent - friendly and very attentive. We highly recommend eating here. The food was very good however the seating situation was not. A member of our group called attend of time to reserve for 20 people. We understand a table for 20 is difficult and was expecting to be divided between 2 or 3 tables. Did not expect to be divided between 2 rooms opposite ends of restaurant. Both rooms had empty tables that would have accommodated our entire group. Understand that the work load had to be divided between servers. Just didn't understand why the servers couldn't share the same area so that the group wasn't separated the question was asked but completely ignored by the man seating us. I'll apologize first for my long review but my 4 stars are based on an "average" of all of my visits here. We don't cook a lot at home anymore so I've been here 12-15 times now for both lunch and dinner. Very excited to have a new place in town that isn't fast food or only pizza. We prefer to support small(er) and/or locally owned places so we made a point to try this restaurant as soon as we could. I do like that they maintain an actual website and the menu is posted online and not just on Facebook. Our first visit was approximately a month after they opened so I expected them to still be working things out as they get settled with new staff etc. No problems though, food was great and our server was truly fantastic so we left happy and planning to return. Restaurant and restrooms were clean and it's decorated to give a Tuscan vibe. There is bar seating and half booths as well as tables and an area built to look like you're dining on an outdoor patio. For my second visit I tried to do something we commonly do because of hectic, busy schedules... order "take-out". That was a nightmare! First I was told "no, we don't take orders over the phone", second time I was told "yes, but I'd have to come in and order and then wait" (but when my husband drove there and attempted to do that he was told "no, they were too busy for take-out orders"). This type of confusion happened several times, so I decided to wait a few weeks before trying again. I know, if you're thinking "what? that type of customer service would've sent me away for good" I understand, but being a business person I truly know the difficulties encountered when opening a new business and I was trying to give them some time to work it out. Like I said, I'm really rooting for their success here and I'm happy to say they have corrected this confusion over take-out orders and I have ordered several times without incident. I will encourage all of you who are still hanging in there for this LONG review to please still tip when you get a take-out order. Depending on the establishment's procedures, the servers are taking time away from their other patrons and possibly pay percentages of their sales in taxes, including your take-out sale. Besides, it doesn't hurt to be nice so even though we are asked to tip everywhere these days, maybe consider it for your take-out orders. Ok, PSA over and back to my review. Next in-restaurant experience didn't start off well. We were meeting other guests there and they were 5 minutes ahead of us. The lady at the hostess stand (same not very friendly lady I've experienced before, possibly even a manager because the hostesses have all been nice) refused to seat them until we all were there to be seated. Yes, I understand the theory behind this but there are better ways to manage your table times. We have eaten at many fine establishments over the years and most DO NOT do this anymore. It doesn't hurt you to seat people and let them start eating appetizers and drinking beverages from the bar. If necessary it's always better to offer a kind reminder that "we do have a 2 hour maximum time for dining during our busy dinner hours" or note it in your menu rather than pile people up waiting at your front door. Especially when your waiting area is cramped and on the small side. With proper staff training you can manage this type of situation much better and not lose customers over it. That day almost did it for me and I'm pretty patient. Food has been great each time except once and we have tried appetizers, pasta, soup, seafood, steak, entree salads etc. They have the best alfredo pasta, tomato soup, pork chop and garlic herb fries appetizer with 3 different sauces for dipping. Salads are good but I prefer only spring mix and not iceburg or romaine lettuces so I wish that was an option. Note that they still aren't offering the pizza that is on their menu and it seems that the left side of the restaurant isn't open for seating during (busy) everyday service. Maybe it's for private parties only or it's a shortage in staffing, I'm not sure? I had an issue with food quality one time in all of my visits and the male manager handled it well. I would just suggest offering not only a replacement for an entree that was inedible but a little something extra for the hassle. That's always a best practice especially when the customer is being nice. Ok I hope my "book" here was helpful to you, thanks for staying with me to read it all. Definitely give this restaurant a try, so far they've earned my business and I believe they are working towards earning my 5 star review soon. read more

We have been waiting to try the new restaurant in MP and we were hoping/praying they would have good food. We so badly wanted to like the food. Sadly, after our meal tonight we probably won't be back. We ordered a chicken Alfredo and bacon bleu burger with regular fries. The chicken Alfredo was inedible. The pasta was over cooked, the sauce was curdled and the chicken was bland. There was 0 seasoning or taste to this dish besides bad Alfredo sauce. The burger was ok and I would order it again. The fries were soggy but yet still hard/uncooked in the middle. I will say, when I walked in I was greeted kindly and when I picked up my order the bartender was very nice. The restaurant is beautiful inside. The food just needs work, especially the chicken Alfredo. read more

We ate there on Saturday. The place looks so nice and the food was delicous. Our service was good. The menu had a nice variety with unique offerings like the gnocchi flight and cannoli flight, portions were big (we had to take half of each of our dinners home) and the prices were very reasonable. First time at this restaurant looked nice from the outside and interior was clean and updated. The hostess was not there and it was hard to see the "Please wait to be seated" sign so we walked into the bar area. Someone came a few seconds later and asked us if we'd like a table and we were seated. This part of the restaurant needs work so patrons know what is going on when they walk in. I saw a couple of other groups do the same thing we did so I know it's an issue. After we were sat the waitress came by and we were greeted in a very professional manner which was nice to see. We ordered our drinks and the waitress came back a few minutes later will to take our food orders. I got a side salad which was included with my meal. The waitress asked what kind of dressing I would like and I chose blue cheese. When the salad came out it was drenched in dressing almost to the point that it was uneatable, but I pushed through since I was hungry. Our meals came out shortly after and everything was good and the portions were large, definitely took home leftovers. So a few minutes later the bill comes and I was shocked to see that they charged me $1.50 for blue cheese dressing on the salad that was included with my meal. That is the most insanely ridiculous charge I have ever seen in my entire life. I have eaten at thousands of restaurants and never seen anyone charge extra for dressing, let alone $1.50! I can't imagine who thought of that added fee, but it was certainly not mentioned to me by the waitress nor was it listed on the menu. Hopefully the owners will see this review and change their policy, I would never go back to a place that would charge extra for dressing and not tell the patron in advance. read more
