This is the third time my wife and I have been here since the new owner took over from the old Gino's 4-5 months ago. Over the last several months, there have been significant upgrades in the decor, menu, and food. We really enjoy their Italian with a Texas twist part of the menu last night. I had the chicken fried steak Parmesan with a Gorgonzola sauce, which tasted amazing. My wife had the traditional Italian of the Trio (fettuccine Alfredo, chicken, Parmesan and lasagna) which she also enjoyed. She says she's going to order the Italian enchiladas next time as those sounds very interesting. They still have some operational kinks to work out at the front of the house as well as in the kitchen, but it is well worth going. read more

Nicely done update to the previous place that was here (Gino's). Food is much fresher/tasteful, indoor decor is new and welcoming (bar area is especially cozy w comfy couches, soft table lamps, rugs). The entire staff is helpful, friendly, and engaged - and this is a welcome change! The entire vibe is one of a slightly upscale neighborhood gathering place - plenty of "regulars" and clearly a favorite of the "locals". Don't miss the beef and pork lasagna and the mussels portofino - to DIE for! House wines (Canyon road) are respectable choices and easy drinking but come on a Wed for 1/2 price bottles of any wine! I am so glad to have found Tuscano. Went for the first time with my family for a couple of birthday celebrations back in December and was blown away by the food and the cocktails. We went all out and tried some apps (fried cheese, shrimp cocktail). The fresh bread and the oil they bring out is outstanding. Meals were fantastic and don't get me started on the deserts. Service had some kinks but nothing crazy! My girlfriend and I visited again this last weekend and let me just say- everything was wonderful. Drinks were delicious, the chicken dish I ordered was fantastic and the veggies that come with it are SO good. My girlfriend got the lobster ravioli which was incredible. We shared the tiramisu and the After Five Mint cocktail for dessert and were quite happy with our choices. The banquet style tables do a feel a little outdated- but don't let them fool you. Been to this fine establishment about 4 times since June. Visited tonight and sat in a booth in the bar area. The bar is well stocked and looks like an enjoyable place to visit. The food was excellent just as it has been on each of my visits. The cheese bits/sticks are to die for. One of the best we have had in the area. Each time I have had a different server and each has been good. Tonight Abbi did a good job and the support staff and kitchen were great. Met the owner who was sitting near us. He happened to hear us comparing this location to another favorite and engaged us. He is clearly interested in making the location as best that it can be. Highly recommend. Will be back. read more

Had an amazing dinner there last night, haven't had anything there that I didn't love. Wait staff did a great job of taking care of us. They have GREAT bourbon flights as well. When one thinks of pizza (for me anyways), it has to have a great crust and sauce. Everything else (other toppings) is just more at the party. So I recently ordered a pepperoni pizza to try this place out. This location (site) has had a number of openings and closing....seems nothing can stay in that location very long before closing down (that my friends is a testament to food quality and service). So it did take literally an hour from once I ordered the pizza until I got it. Glad I wasn't starving. But upon receiving the pizza and getting it home, lord a mercy at the grease. Granted I live near but the pizza was a bit soggy from the grease that oozed out of the pepperoni - these little button sized red slices of meat. It took 6 paper towels to soak up the grease. What part of the crust that wasn't flaccid from the grease was ok but was not able to really define the sauce because of the grease. Wasn't too impressed with the 3 hostesses at the door. Personalities of a fly swatter. Not sure why it takes a army to run the front as they were so confused and unorganized but upon paying, naturally the first thing to pop up on the card scanner is the tip. Seriously? You want me to tip you to walk from the front to the back to retrieve my pizza that was overpriced from the beginning? I don't tip counter personnel for doing their job. Sick and tired of these places looking for tips and these large increments of tips. I digress...but the pizza gets a "D" and not sure if I will go in and dine to try other meals but for me....don't order the pizza. It's a heart attack in a box. read more

Not nearly as good as Gino's that it replaced. Fresh paint and fancy fixtures don't change the fact that the food is simply not as good. One chicken entree served was ice cold, as if it was sitting on a shelf for a long time just waiting to be served. The other chicken entree was at least hot, but somewhat chewy. We also ordered a pizza... it as the first time I ever saw our teenager not eat more than a few bites of pizza. Food is just bland. I usually don't post reviews on anything but this was too bad to not. The bolognese sauce tastes like it came from a can. I grew up eating canned tomato soup and it tasted just like that. Also ordered spaghetti and meatballs, and meatballs are super tough and pink in the middle. Not cooked all the way if it was beef but it tasted like pork meat. Which is not what meatballs are supposed to be made from. Brisket was tough too. Tiramisu didn't have espresso in it. Quality definitely does not justify the price even a little bit. Don't even get me started on the bread. All around heavily disappointed and wasted food which I hate doing. read more

I will never visit this restaurant again. We went on a Tuesday where the restaurant advertised a pasta cheese wheel dish made tableside. We placed our order for 1 of these around 7:15 pm. At the time of our visit/order, there were a couple of guests at the bar and a table of 5 and a couple 2 tops around the corner. 8:19 pm our entree still had not come around. We then just asked for our bill and when the owner came by he explained they only have 1 person making these table side entree. if that's the case, I asked how they expect to fufill these advertised orders in a timely manner if they know they only have 1 person doing it? what if the restaurant was busier? The owner simply said "what do you want me to do about it?" "I have done this for 3 years..." Basically, the restaurant is operating at a capacity they can't handle, which was actually only 5 tables. It was unfortunate experience and wished the owner took some accountability because this was a recommendation we looked forward to. read more

Went for dinner and ordered the LINGUINE with white clam sauce. First, it came with fettuccine noodles...who does that ??? When I asked the GM, he said, " you are very astute and we use Penne pasta instead of Ziti. Nobody knows the difference " I asked why they don't say what it is instead of misleading their customers ? His very condescending reply was, " what would you like for me to do sir ? " I asked for a to go box and left it there on purpose. Lastly, what I did taste, had absolutely ZERO flavor !! Pasta is cheap, you don't need to cut corners. There were additional issues but the bartender was new so I will give him some slack..I will say he needs more TRAINING. The pizza was decent on the other hand. ****** Jay Rouse; you should change your menu to read what the food is, not what it is supposed to be. Overall a great experience. The owner heard that it was our first time there under the new mgt., and came by to check on us several time. The specialty cocktails were terrific - our group ended trying them all. Their Texas- Italian fusion was creative, and worked really well. This is probably the worst Italian restaurant i had been to so far. First, the menu is only carbohydrate. Pasta and pizza only. Highly recommend the owner to expand the menu option. Second, the taste of everything is light. Even my 7 years old daughter ask for salt. Last thing, they don't serve any dessert. I came here for my mom's birthday. We tried Tuscano Italian Kitchen for the first time this afternoon. They have happy hour all day Sunday, which was a nice surprise. We had the house Merlot (Jordan our server offered us a sample of the house Merlot and Cabernet). I am originally from NY State so I wanted to try something more traditional, so we had a small calzone which was quite good, and a large portion. We also tried the Brisket Bolognese as a Texas twist option. I actually liked it more than I was anticipating. It was reminiscent of the traditional Chianti sauce but with brisket. So it was different, but not too far off the rails for me. Our server Jordan was excellent. I definitely see him moving up the chain. We enjoyed our experience and will return to try more of their food. read more

Everything we tried here was delicious. The meatballs were very good. The Burrata was wonderful. Salads were good. My daughter's spaghetti was huge and tasty. The tomato bisque was very good. My husband loved his lasagna. They also serve a few unconventional Texas Italian fusion entrees that we'll try next time. read more

I'm a tough critic. This place is my new favorite italian food in Austin. Great atmosphere, service, and food.

My first disappointment came when the bread came out. Bread sucks, tastes like stale sandwich bread. I'd think that a place charging $22 a plate would try to make their own bread and if they do, it needs work. The oil it comes with does not make it any better if anything it makes it easier to swallow down, maybe butter would be better but I doubt anything can save that bread. My entree was the summer pasta (shrimp, scallions, and asparagus) and it was overly fishy and even a good amount of parmesan couldn't hide the overly fishy taste and smell. Also the chef, I'm assuming, was staring down my girlfriend? I understand I got a baddie but didn't come to this place to mean mugg the chef to give him a clue he was doing something inappropriate. Saving grace was our server, June R was very nice and attentive and she even reduced my entrees price. Doubt that'll bring me back though. read more

We had the pleasure of attending a business function at Tuscano and used their private dining in the back. Everything was perfect. It is not often that I see veal on a menu anymore, but Toscano offers it. It was perfectly cooked and VERY tender - such a wonderful surprise! First visit on 12/30/22. I'm not often surprised but I was surprised and very impressed with this new Italian restaurant in Cedar Park. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. I had the dinner salad and Baked Ziti (which is my staple plate for evaluating Italian restaurants) and it was outstanding! My wife had a small Caesar salad and the Penne Pasta with marinara sauce and veggies, both she thought were excellent. My son had the mussels appetizer with the Brisket Bolognese which he raved about! Bottom line - this area needed a top notch, reasonably priced Italian restaurant and we finally got one! We took my mom to Tuscano for her birthday and I'm so glad we did! The food, service and ambience was all top tier!! We highly recommend the pork tenderloin and the steak frites and this might sound weird but the Caesar salads were so goood too! Our server was very personable and made sure to check on us just enough so that we have everything we needed but not so much that it interrupted our family time. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a nice date night or special family outing but still seems casual enough for a luncheon too. Check 'em out!!! read more

I came here twice. The first time, it was amazing. Great service, innovative menu. The second time I came and left after 5 minutes. They had an artificial air freshener piped throughout the restaurant. I am sensitive to chemicals, and had to leave before I got a migraine. It also seems off putting to have a chemical air freshener smell while dining. Also, these artificial scents typically contain harmful VOCs and are dangerous to patrons and staff. read more
