So to preface, the owners were super nice even though they couldn't speak English and I have no gripe with the service. The quantity was also copious and definitely worthy of recognition. My only remark would be the surplus of vegetables and imbalance between vegetables and meat. Both my friend and I received more vegetables than we could have dreamed of but not enough meat to balance it out. Think 1:4 ratio meat to vegetables. I got the beef bibambop and it was actually pretty good if you like vegetables (which I do). Now, if you're a meat eater I would recommend a different restaurant. Love this Korean restaurant! We ate bulgogi bibimbob, glass noodles, and black bean noodles. Establishment is clean and the hostess amiable and kind. Fresh Heim started several years ago as a Chinese fusion restaurant focused on raw fresh vegetables. It was ok then, but not flavorful. As a Korean restaurant, it tastes like a home in Seoul. Wonderful! The fried dumplings are good. The kimchi was pickled daikon, so if you're expecting the cornucopia of pickles and kimchi that most Korean establishments offer you may be disappointed. The interior was a bit dark and different than what I expected for a korean chinese restaurant. The waitress was very friendly and nice, but im sad the jja jang myun was a bit too sweet for me. I was expecting a more rustic homemade style of noodles. I also got a side dish to take home, but it was a bit too fishy for my taste. I've been on the hunt for black bean noodles (Jajangmyeon) and I am so excited to say I have finally found the spot! A casual mom and pop spot, there was one friendly lady running the dining room, and a few people in the kitchen. The vibes are super cozy and a little more dimly lit which is great for an intimate evening. Now the food - wahhh, the noodles were so QQ with the perfect chewy bite! They were perfectly saucy with generous portions of onion, but it was well cooked so that it wasn't overpowering. Little bits of ground meat and zucchini with a side of pickled yellow radish - delicious! Also, the portions are incredibly generous and only $13 or $14 for a size large. We also wanted to try their beef bibimbap, but they said they were out of the materials for it....and they didn't have the veggie version either. At this point, we had already ordered and no longer had the menu, so we quickly tried to remember what else was on the menu and ordered the salmon with purple rice, salad, and veggies. This is where things weren't so great. We didn't realize that the 6oz salmon meal was almost $30 (we found out with the check) and that the fish would be either frozen and/or overcooked...it was also a little salty and not very palatable with tough meat. The purple rice had a pleasant taste and texture, and the mix fruit in the salad was nice, but it wasn't anything outstanding. The veggies were steamed. This was quite disappointing and we wish we could've reviewed the menu again to see the items listed as "Korean food" options, as these clearly seem to be the best offerings (and what we wanted.). This meal would have been improved with banchan instead of salad and steamed veggies and fresh, properly cooked fish. I would give the salmon meal a 3 and the black bean noodles a 4.5/5, hence the 4 star rating. Would go again just for the black bean noodles, but would be hesitant about their non-Korean offerings. read more

A sleepy spot inside a shopping center that provides nice clean eating at a reasonable price. Typically when I think of Asain food, I think of greasy plates and nice full stomachs after finishing. That is definitely not how I felt after leaving Fresh Heim. Instead, I was nice and satisfied but feeling great. Also they don't turn on the ac and have fans blowing everywhere during 100 degree weather AND they turn the hood system off when not cooking so the entire restaurant is greasy and smells like oil. I had some time to come for a quick lunch and this place looked interesting. It's in a strip mall with lots of various shops. On a Saturday afternoon, it was a quiet time to visit. The service is quick and my waitress was attentive. When I first came in I hear this disembodied voice saying hello from the kitchen. LOL I couldn't see beyond the panels they've set up to hide the kitchen. Everything was super fresh and my poke was so colorful and tasty. They have various dressings and sauces to choose to add which has a nice selection. I imagine this place is busy during the week for the lunch crowd. NOURISHING I think that sums up Fresh Heim for me pretty well and why it may be my fave restaurant in the area. When I walk in, I know the ambience will be peaceful, the staff the kindest, and the food so thought and fresh. I usually get their protein with salad, featured in my photo. You get a big plate of flavorful abundance with all the nutrients- protein, fiber, healthy fat, and tons of vitamins. Their home sauces and dressings hit the spot for that spicy/sweet/savory (depending) umami flavor. I've tried all their proteins and don't have a favorite, it's all cooked to perfection. In this particular meal you'll get an option of the purple rice or sweet potato noodle, both tasty but I love the rice. They've also expanded their menu to include more class Korean dishes that I haven't yet been willing to give up my favorite dish to try, I imagine they'll be delicious too. We decided to try Fresh Helm today. The ambiance was homey. a lot of people that went there knew each other or/and the owner. As for the food, they have posters of what their dishes look like on the wall and I wanted to try everything. We ended up trying the bulgogi bibimbap, chicken with salad, and jjajangmyeon. In fact the jjajangmyeon was a favorite. They were all delicious, vegetables were fresh, and portions were good. This was my first time dining at this restaurant. The dining area is open and well lit. We were greeted and seated promptly, and the server was very attentive. We ordered the cinnamon tea, and she steeped a second pot without us even asking. The tea was delicious, and we drank it all. I had a hard time choosing an entree because everything looked so good. I went with the most popular choice, the main pork loin with fresh veggies and sweet potato noodles. The pork loin was well seasoned and delicious, if just a tad overcooked. It's presented as one piece, and would have been easier to eat if it had been sliced before serving. I ordered the balsamic dressing with the fresh veggies, and the veggie plate was beautifully plated and delicious. The portions were generous as well. The sweet potato noodles were dressed with a sauce that was both sweet and savory. I could have eaten a bowl of them alone. I will definitely be back to try more of their amazing dishes. read more

Ordered the lunch size pork loin with noodle, mango sauce for the meat and balsamic for the salad. The portions seem big but are good enough to get you satisfied. I was also pleased with the prices. The salad included a few blueberries, black raspberries, strawberries, and a little pineapple; a few cashews, almonds, and pecans; some finely shredded cabbage, carrots, and red bell pepper. We tried the chicken breast and thigh with the teriyaki and mango sauces, which were both delightful (small preference for the teriyaki, btw). Ordered the sirloin steak with salad and I got to tell you, I could eat here everyday. Really impressed by the freshness and quality of all the ingredients. The sirloin came with asparagus that was beautifully cooked and some spicy micro greens. The steak was seared perfectly and the oriental sauce that came with it added so much flavor. The salad was very fresh and the peanut dressing that I picked for it was just a perfect consistency. I love that the veggies were very thinly sliced as they added such a nice texture and crunch to the noodles. My favorite part about the whole meal was how clean everything was.
