When we walked in no one was available to greet us or seat us, waited about 3 - 4 minutes, looked around, almost ready to walk out when finally a woman showed up and greeted us, she seemed to be bussing tables. 1st bad sign but I assumed they may be short staffed so I shrugged it off. We were shown to our table. My wife ordered a dinner salad, she was told the dressing was garlic ranch. Since it was the only option she asked to bring olive oil. That was fine, but halfway through our meal I overheard a different waiter at another table say the choice of dressing for the salad was garlic ranch or vinegarette. Another "oversight". The waiter seemed nice. Later we realized when our food arrived that all of the tables seated after us were served bread with herb butter. I didn't complain but thought it was an oversight on the part of the waiter. I asked if the spaghetti and meatballs were good, the waiter said yes, very good. I decided to give it a try, the spaghetti was ok, but hadn't been properly sauced, it was as though the sauce was just dumped in the center with two meatballs. The sauce tasted like garlic and tomatoes, hardly any other flavor such as oregano or basil. The meatballs had far too much Italian flavored breadcrumbs and tasted like a meat-bread ball. The house salad my wife received and my side salad were pretty sad. Lettuce, 2 slices of cucumber, a small slice of tomato, and some shredded carrots. For a house salad at an Italian restaurant, it seemed pretty sparse. I expected an olive maybe, and / or a slice of onion, maybe a slice of green pepper, or a cruton or two? Go figure. Overall was disappointed, eveything about the restaurant decor gave me the first impression that it would be better. Coming from an Italian American family I know good Italian food when I taste. I know flavorful sauce and I know what a real homemade meatball should taste like. Perhaps other dishes and perhaps other wait staff are better. IMO there are better choices for Italian food in the area, doubtful I will be back to try something different. read more

My family and I tried Tuscany Grill when we were in the area, and it was a bit of a mixed bag. Service was great--friendly, attentive, and welcoming! The prices are on the higher side, but the portions are huge, so you definitely get a lot of food. Everything we ordered was really heavy though, and while it was fine, nothing stood out flavor-wise. I left feeling pretty stuffed, mostly from how rich everything was. If you're craving a big, hearty meal, this place could work, but I'd probably try somewhere else next time. read more

The quality of food was better at their old location. Now the food is just ok, very bland and not good enough for the higher price point. Nice Italian restaurant that offered many options on their menu. I tried a signature dish, Grilled Mediterranean which included chicken, shrimp, sausage, and noodles all seared in a pan before serving. It gave the noodles a nice little crisp which was a unique option. The dish had a nice spicy bite to it. Service was good. We were taken care of and never rushed or ignored. I ordered the truffle fries with parmesan for a starter and I was pretty impressed, wish the fries were crispier. Then I ordered the Salmon Liverone and my girlfriend ordered the penne al vodka. Both were delicious. Mine was very tomatoey as well as having a good saltiness of the salmon. My girlfriend's pasta was also tomatoey for a penne al vodka. Birthday Dinner...maybe that was where I went wrong? Were my expectations too high? Everyone raved....maybe we need to reconsider who we get our recommendations from? We waited at the front of the house for a good five minutes with no hostess or anyone greeting us. The bartender saw us...and went back to looking at his phone. Finally got another person's attention and we were seated... We should have known this was not going to be a white tablecloth experience when we unwrapped our silverware from the paper napkin..a nice paper napkin but still a paper napkin. The silverware had an institutional feeling to it. Drinks came out pretty quickly as did the calamari app. The aioli dipping sauce was good but was really good when I mixed it with the marinara sauce the waiter brought out to have us sample. The marinara was bright and fresh tasting....and turned out to be the highlight. The bread was four hard rocks of yeast and flour....with pesto butter that was way over-seasoned with garlic...almost inedible. I came specifically for the Pescatore. It was lacking in a lot of seafood....three shrimp, two clams, lots of calamari, three mussels, and three scallops...(the scallops were actually the best part and one was a little under). It was an abject disappointment. Not flavorful. The white sauce was like drinking a bad glass of wine...it was off... that is the best way to describe it. We had the Baked Italiano....of our three entrees it was the best tasting and was seasoned well. It had a meatball, ravioli, eggplant, and sausage with a red sauce that was not the same as the marinara we had with the app. So not as bright but my better half liked it and she knows her Italian. Pasta alfredo with grilled chicken was the third entree....not very cheesy and why on earth would you cube the grilled chicken unless it was 1) Leftovers or 2) leftovers. Not that cheesy and bland. The risotto was crunchy....is that right?...but they say it is their best seller. White rice with parsley sprinkled on top...what was it really? Certainly not risotto. Now the other clue this was not that great is that they did not offer fresh ground pepper or fresh parmesan cheese table side. Once it got busy and it did....we had a hard time getting refills or our waiter's attention. They get a star bump for the gesture of the cannoli with a candle for the birthday boy and boxing up the food for us and they wrap the to-go boxes in saran wrap to prevent spills from what I can tell...nice touch. Pro-tip: Monday is Military appreciation night and Thursday has a special German menu...that will bring me back for another chance but tonight.....not their best if others are to be believed. read more

We have dined at Tuscany Grill several times. Usually the food is very good. The service is excellent and the ambience is quite nice. So we scheduled our anniversary dinner there with approximately 13 people. We were given the special dining room. Sad to say it was cold in there. We had one server who was really kind and took good care of us as far as service. Several of the people did not enjoy the food. One guest had ordered a pork chop and it was not cooked properly so he had to wait to have another one made while we finished our meals and then he gobbled up his pork chop. This did not sit well with us as we were not hosting the anniversary party ! I have to mention that this restaurant is expensive , so be aware of what you order and what you get.! Last night my husband picked up an order for us and it was not good. I had the Chicken Picatta de Fungi. Fungi terrible a bland dry tiny piece of boiled butterflied rubbery chicken with capers, mushrooms and artichokes (one) over a ton of flavorless fettuccine. Loaded with garlic it was so strong no other seasoning just awful. I ate a couple of bites and the rest in the garbage. They also gave us a tiny loaf of bread that was so stale it was like a rock. It wasn't just a little stale it was petrified like granite. They never should have put in in the bag they should have put a fresh loaf of bread. My husbands dish was just ok veal parm. Probably the worst Italian restaurant I have ever eaten at. To call it Italian is an insult to Italy. The most bland and dry meat balls that you needed a knife to cut them. Tuscany Grill- Viera, FL- 2.75-Stars "I have to admit that I have a massive weakness for Italian food, which is not very light but so good!" - C. Rowe. My random name generator spewed forth the Tuscany Grill as my next mission. They have been around for a bit over 40 years now, though recently moved to the Viera location, bringing almost their entire staff with them. I asked my researchers to try to find out how long they have been in Viera, but when calling the phone number on their website, couldn't get through. Their site did say that most of their employees have been with them for 8-11 years. Upon entering said eating establishment, I was met with a feeling of warmth and hospitality. It certainly felt like a family place. My waitress was Emily and I can't say enough about her charming personality or menu knowledge. She is top-notch all the way. I asked Emily for an order of my Italian barometer, Veal Piccatta (their spelling), some Calamari, Fettuccine Alfredo along with sides of Minestrone soup and a salad with creamy garlic dressing. Taking in the interior while waiting for my order, I noticed what appeared to be your typical family picture behind our table. If that doesn't say, "Family Restaurant" I don't know what does. The rest of the joint was tastefully done with beautiful natural wood and marble throughout. Oh wait....this is the decor and furniture from the last restaurant that went of of business. I soon saw Emily returning laden with steaming plates of viands. As you can see by the photos, everything was presented beautifully and looked extremely delectable. However, there is only one way to find out if everything tasted as good as it looked, so I filled my fists with my apparatus of gastronomical destruction and got to work. I began with the Calamari. I found it to be flash-fried properly, however, it was a bit strong. This tells me that it wasn't fresh. It was bordering on garbage can bad. Unless you are eating Mackerel, for example, or another rather oily item from the waters, if it tastes strong or "fishy" it's past the apex of freshness. The Veal Piccatta was served in an exceptional sauce that hit the correct flavor notes and was exceedingly savory. Sadly, the veal itself was overcooked and I mean almost shoe leather. The Alfredo sauce was not as thick as I am accustomed to, though it was flavorful and the Fettuccine was cooked to perfection. The sides were nothing to write home about, but not bad either. The Minestrone soup was not going to win any culinary awards but got the job done. The salad was made with fresh Romaine and the dressing was fine. Again, no awards here, just your average Italian-American fare. Imperial pasta was I added salmon as my protein and there was a slight mishap that they forgot to bring it out but it was quickly remedied and perfectly cooked. A nice upscale Italian restaurant - very good, indeed... Located at a spot that has failed as other places in the past, I do think this place will stick. Beautiful furnished inside, it definitely has a very upscale and relaxed vibe inside. Service was wonderful - if your fortunate enough to get Lauren, you will be pleased. They bring out bread with a special spread that was very tasty. We also added an appetizer of calamari that came out quick and hot. It was good as well. For dinner my wife enjoyed their chicken parmigiana while I had their special, a crab stuffed flounder with rigatoni- oh how I enjoyed it. For dessert she ate the Italian Wedding Cake where I enjoyed their version of cannoli - there were no left overs - those desserts were fantastic. Was out on Black Friday dreading the shopping crowds and trying to find somewhere to eat. After finishing our day at the Avenues in Vieira, we searched Yelp for dining suggestions. We saw Asian, Indian, Gastropubs, Fondue, and Italian. We decided Italian was what our palette was feeling on that night. We walked in to a bustling restaurant at around 6:05 pm and our hearts sank when we were asked if we had a reservation. We said no and then were told that the restaurant was fully booked however had a bar section with open seating with a few tables. We turned the corner and jackpot! We found a table, and just in time, within 15 minutes, the section of roughly 6 tables was full. We settled in and were greeted by our server promptly. We ordered our drinks and the lasagna bites appetizer. A delicious creation of pieces of lasagna coated in panko, fried and served with marinara. I ordered the Chicken ala Vincent, a Blackened chicken breast in a sundried tomato pesto cream sauce, topped with fresh basil and pistachios, served over penne. Really good with a nice crunch from the nuts. My wife ordered the Angel Hair Imperial with Shrimp, Fresh spinach sautéed with garlic and olive oil, then finished with a sherry cream sauce and served with angel hair pasta. She was pleased. My daughter ordered the Penne ala Vodka with Blackened Chicken, which was tomato cream sauce spiked with vodka and garlic tossed with penne pasta with fresh basil and parmesan. She liked it but tasted my meal and we ended up trading dishes, it was a little to tomato-y for her liking. Great food, great service, and what seemed like the manager checked up on us a few times. A really nice touch was them taking our food back an puttiing in to go boxes and then sealing the box in plastic wrap so it did not leak. read more
