I'm sorry. I really wanted to like the food and I gave them all chances but I really wish there was more seasoning. There isn't very much heat or flavor in the salsas either so I was bummed. I also really didn't like their meat though too. Tacos: asada and pastor- the asada was tough and under seasoned, and the al pastor was lacking in flavor and I got a lot of fat pieces, also very very sweet. More so than normal from pineapple. Tamal: Pork- the meat was dry, masa was fine. Pozole: I wish the broth had more seasoning and I don't like the meat, but it's avoidable and I can add some more seasoning. Kids were ravenous after swimming classes next door and wanted tacos. So we stopped by and placed an order for some chicken tacos. Place has a casual vibe and an all women crew. They served us chips and some salsas while we waited. Chips were decent. Salsas were ok but had a bottled salsa consistency, they didn't have any preservative taste though. OK, so I need to walk back my comments on a previous review of this spot! My first visit here was forgettable and nothing really positive about it. I went back today and it was a complete 180 compared my 1st visit. I got 2 carne asada tacos and 2 al pastor tacos and all 4 were the business. Very flavorful, the meat on all was perfect and the toppings and salsa was the cherry on the cake. This time around I discovered they put pineapple on my al pastor tacos, very authentic, very well played! I'm actually really happy that this experience went great because now I have a perfect excuse to return. The gentleman who did the cooking took his time to walk to every table and ask everyone if they food was good! I could only give 2 thumbs up because I was inhaling those tacos. I've given Tustacos Taqueria a few tries and it's just a miss for me. Last night I ordered the chicken enchilada plate and it was average at best. It wasn't bad just underwhelming and I really felt like the portions were pretty lean for the price. Maybe I'm just ordering the wrong dishes. The overall feel is super casual. You order at the counter and there's large menu boards overhead. Dining area gives off a slight cafeteria vibe with not much personality. Service is quick and the women running this location are friendly so I can see why some people really like it here. Good service goes a long way! I don't think I'll be back though. Saw a picture of the enchilada plate on Yelp and knew I had to come by and give them a try! As I was walking in, I saw the sign for $2 taco Friday...and was immediately sold on those too. Got the tacos for lunch and the enchiladas for later. For the street tacos I went with carnitas and shrimp (shrimp was $3.50), both were really good though if I were to pick a favorite it would be the carnitas. Will definitely be going back for $2 taco Friday because wow, what a steal! Enchiladas were good too, chicken was a little less tender than I expected, but still good. Enjoyed that the plate came with rice and beans, the Spanish rice was absolutely delicious and I'll definitely get a side order of that next time I go back for tacos. The location does not show up right on Yelp. It's next to Grocery Outlet in the same parking lot as Dollar Tree. This is my second visit. The red salsa is 5 stars!!! I love the deep dark tomatoes flavor, perfectly balanced with spices, medium spiciness. Their refried beans are very good. I tried their carnitas burrito and had them make it wet. There was very little meat in it, and it was very lackluster and dry. Mainly a rice burrito. I wasn't a fan of how the carnitas tasted either, so I don't try that again. We have been eating at this establishment for years, including their former restaurant Ruby's Tamales y Mas on Cox in Saratoga, CA. In my opinion, it's the best mexican food in the Bay. Happy with our food at the new Tustacos Taqueria. Both my partner and I felt the wait was worth the bite. He got the Carne Asada grandota plate and I ordered a Torta de pastor. Both dishes were big, filling, and delicioso. Definitely will come back again! My only tip is don't order chips+salsa -- the amount of chips was very little for the price. Plus you get salsa with your order anyway. The hot salsa is fire and the green salsa is mild. Other than that, staff is very friendly! What's not to love! read more

RUDE!!!!!!!! My husband was gonna order an Agua Fresca for our daughter but had to use the restroom before ordering, the so called "owner" walked up to him rudely and loudly said, "what do you need" he told her he was waiting for the restroom. As she proceeded to be rude he told her "you don't need to yell at me" she proceeded to raise her voice at him pointing and yelling in Spanish, so we left. I went back to speak to her and tell her it was rude and unprofessional on how she spoke to him her response was "he should've asked me first" I told her she was busy making food and she didn't see him until she went to serve a table, I saw the entire thing. Have gone here twice. First time for fajitas and tacos. Both were really good. Meals come with free chips on the side. Second time we got mega quesadilla and nachos. Would get a different quesadilla next time because the lettuce, sour cream and guac make the quesadilla soggy when you take it to go. Not sure why this restaurant doesn't show up on my search results but it's been on my personal radar having driven by a few times. It's inconspicuously (no signage yet) located at the bend/turn of an L shaped shopping center. Here are my knee jerk reactions: -parking is plentiful -outdoors seating available -friendly and fast service -free chips y salsa -reasonable pricing on food items My order was a carne asada regular burrito, which came within a minute or two after starting on my chips and salsa. The asada was a touch on the saltier side and there was a little more gristle than I'd like. Outside of that, there wasn't anything spectacular or atrocious awful about my burrito. We paid 29.00 and what did we get ...? Beans. Worst burritos we've ever had anywhere. You like refried beans? This is the place and that's the main ingredient. The refried beans are tasteless and dry. We didn't see any sour creme in the burritos ...yes I pulled mine apart to examine the inside... nothing much there except beans and some rice....for 30.00. I called them and pride took over. They do not take constructive criticism at all. There was no one in their restaurant which is a big clue....food horrible and old. This might be my favorite taqueria in the area. Others i've been to are either just okay or the food is simply not well prepared. Tustacos Taqueria food never misses - always fresh and delicious no matter what i order. My favorite is the carne asada taco plate, but also love the chile rellanos and burritos. The staff are always nice and accommodating when i need anything. Don't have to wait very long for your food, and the dining area is consistently clean with comfortable seating. read more

I have been coming to Tustacos Taqueria, (Formally Jovie's) in Campbell CA for a few weeks. This is a new restaurant that opened about a month or so ago. I was looking at some of the other reviews from a year ago and somehow I feel that's another location. Anyway, I really don't eat a lot of mexican food however I do like the location of this restaurant and the friendliness of the ladies running it. They're fruit aquafresca is the best I have ever had. The quality of the meat used for tacos is very tender and cooked with lots of attention. I really like their burritos, tacos, chips, salsas and other items I have tried. My delicate stomach has never had any issues. Some menu items are not available yet, as they are still working on it. They do have menudo on weekends! The restaurant is very inviting, with big windows to look outside when you eat. I find it is clean and the staff appears to be in compliance with Covid. Their Taco Friday is really inviting, as you can buy tacos at a reduced price. There is very nice outside seating and the staff is very attentive and wants to please. I honestly have no complaints about this place. Understandably sometimes there may be an off day or they get busy, which may explain the few recent 1 star reviews. At Tustacos service is very fast and very friendly and the food is delicious. The menu is standard with a few exceptional items. For example, their Mexican hot-dog is tasty and interesting. Delicious Mexican food, no lard, friendly service. We've been going to Tustacos since they were located on Cox Avenue many years ago. Everything is fresh, it's my daughter's favorite Friday night burrito place. On top of this, food is served in reusable dinnerware and utensils. So much better for the environment! Very few businesses still spend resources on washing reusable dinnerware and instead serve you in single use plates and give you single use utensils. This place is my absolute favorite place. The food is divine, the flavors explode in your mouth. There is not one thing that will disappoint you. The owners are the sweetest most hardworking people. They are so passionate about the food they create. The chili Colorado's hails from the owners childhood with her mom. The chili Colorado is so good and melts in your mouth. The fajitas are to die for!!! The Camerones ala Diabla is my FAVORITE. Perfect balance of spicy with a hint of sweet. Rice and beans are so authentic and flavorful. We are so lucky to have them in Campbell. This is there second location and I'm so proud of them. Such comforting food. I crave this place everyday. Don't walk run to this place!!!! My last visit here I tried the tacos and they were good but not outstanding, although the effort was much appreciated. I came here today to try the burrito and I must say it was really, really good and lived up to my expectations. Now, If there are people who say Mexican food is all the same ( and I'm sure there are those people ) they don't really understand that cooking is a really a CRAFT and it takes a lot of skill to really get it right and sometimes getting it right takes practice to get it down, and personally I think the burritos here hit the spot. Some cooks are better at some things then others and although I think their tacos are OK their burritos are outstanding. I'm already a fan of how the carne asada here is cooked and the addition of the ingredients here when they make the burrito ( especially the delicious Spanish rice ) makes for a better burrito here than I have had at many other places. The sheer pleasure I got from savoring the way all the flavors melded together was sheer indugence to my tastebuds and I just really wolfed it down to be completely honest. I usually go to Taqueria Los Pericos to get a burrito but their carne asada is salty, dry and charred ( WELL-done almost to the point of being burnt to a crisp ) but at Tustacos the meat is cooked nicely to the right point, moist and not hard to the point of being inedible like at other taquerias. The cook does a really good job here and obviously knows their craft so bravo to them! Everything is so far so good at Tustacos Taqueria and you should really give them a try! read more

Comes with chips/salsa, lemon wedge and a side of radishes. Both were very delicious, service was great and the place is modern, bright and clean.
