Perfect for a night out with friends! I came here on a Saturday night around 7pm, and it was absolutely packed - as expected of the Pruneyard. The parking area was full, but there's people going in and out pretty frequently. There was a 1-hour wait for a table at Luna, but we found some spots at the bar for some drinks and appetizers before getting seated. I got the prickly pear Lunarita frozen margarita which was perfect to get the night going! I also tried my friend's mango Lunarita, and it was yummy as well. The bartender is super fun and friendly! For apps, we got ceviche, guacamole, and a quesadilla. 30 minutes in, we were alerted that our table was ready, which was way before the original 1-hour estimate :-), so we had our apps at our table. We were seated outside, and it was cool and breezy, and the bustling restaurant was filled with conversations. Such a vibe! The appetizers were super good - their chips are seasoned with a tinge of spice and were crunchy. The guac was smooth and creamy, the ceviche was super fresh and aromatic, and the quesadilla was soft and gooey. For my main, I got the lamb barbacoa, which was INCREDIBLY tender and juicy and literally so delicious. Melts in your mouth and super good with the corn tortilla. The table got the mole enchiladas and lobster enchiladas, all of which got high praise. If you're looking for a semi upscale Mexican restaurant, Luna is a fantastic option. Excellent, but generally very busy. I tried to scope out the place on the first night of a trip, and it was completely overwhelmed with people. I stopped by the following night and found a place at the bar. The staff were extremely helpful. The space is nicely decorated. The food is really nicely done, even in the context of vegetable forward dishes. In terms of food, I ordered the Chile relleno de calabacitas, and it was excellent. A nice portion of tart tomato sauce, plus rice and beans. Plus a nicely done relleno that didn't lean too hard into the concept of a deep fried orb of whipped egg whites. There's not anything wrong with the traditional version, but this felt a touch lighter. It was really nicely assembled. I'll also note that the house chips and salsa were extremely well done. The chips were clearly prepared in house. The salsas were flavorful and interesting. It was an excellent spread. Beer options were somewhat lacking: just Mexican lagers, but that's mostly just par for the course. That's what they're aiming for. Mex dining at Luna was the payoff for burning 20-30 min finding parking in the Pruneyard. We strolled in past the long wait line to nab two remaining bar stools at the outside bar. Our bartender (Albaro?) was slammed yet attentive to our arrival, and provided cheerful service. Me and a colleague split Chips, Guac, Queso (fundido-like), Yellowtail Crudo, and the Bacon Wrapped Camarones, all washed down w a couple Margs. Super good. Came here on two different occasions! There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating but it does get busy at lunch and dinner times. You can also check out the bar to see if there are empty spots and then you can get seated right away (I didn't know this!). Starting with appetizers, every table gets a complimentary chips and guac which is refillable and very delicious. The chips are very fresh and crispy which pairs well with both sauces. For the entree, my favorite is the salmon bowl. It has salmon, broccolini, sweet potato, quinoa, etc. which all pairs really well together. It's definitely a nutritious meal worth the price. I was surprised that their cheese quesadilla was so good - the flour tortilla is extra crispy and the sour cream, guac and salsa all go well with the pieces. Also another dish worth the price! For the drinks, they have a watermelon seasonal agua fresca and margarita. The watermelon juice is so tasty and refreshing for the summer. Even though the restaurant was packed on a Saturday, the energy was fantastic and we were still well taken care of. Also, a quick shout-out to the complimentary tortilla chips and the green salsa that came with them is absolutely addictive! What really made the experience stand out, though, was the service. Great crispy chips and a red and green salsa. The green one was DELICIOUS. They have a nice variety of options on the menu and everything looked worth a try. In this case because we were a large group we went with one of their PARRILLADAS which is a variety of meats and l comes with rice, beans, grilled onions, tortillas, salsa/guac/sour cream. Sizes are as follows- Chico - for 2 Mediano - for 4 Grande - for 6 Enormous - for 8 And we chose the Mixed Grill option which has cheese chile relleno sweet potato Niman Ranch carnitas Mary's free-range chicken breast all-natural hormone-free steak fajita Niman Ranch St. Louis rib wild bacon-wrapped shrimp jumbo wild garlic butter shrimp chicken jalapeño sausage So so much food but everything was delicious! What a wonderful Mexican restaurant - the best by far that I have seen in the area. The steak is amazing - so tender and flavorful. They bring out chips and salsa as a starter which are housemade chips with a green (jalapeno) creamy sauce and a red salsa with wonderful flavor. The ambiance is upscale casual sit down with a plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Parking can be a bit difficult on the weekends. They do not take reservations so there can be a pretty good line to get on the list and a shorter line to get to your table. The waiter we had was very attentive and quick with refills as needed. Trust the people on Yelp! Lol. I love a good churro, but unfortunately, their churros were not it. They weren't hot, crispy, or covered in cinnamon sugar. However, the Choco Flan...AMAZING. We came here for Father's Day weekend and surprised it wasn't as packed as I was expecting. Leaving here, it got so packed there was a long line so we came at a sweet time! Let me say that I regret not taking more pictures of my food because everything was so good! But that also means the ambiance was perfect. This is a good place to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner with friends or family. - I ended up getting the parilla 10/10 for two and it was humongous! Way worth it. Definitely shareable for two and they don't skimp on the protein. - we got a yellow tail app and it was delicious! So spicy tho so be careful if you don't like spice! 10/10! - The queso fundido 9/10 and it was good! A LOT of cheese the only downside was the chorizo was all the way at the bottom and we didn't eat it until the end haha still good! - horchata French toast was delicious! 9/10. With a place that looks this nice, I expected warmer and happier energy from the employees. We tried a few cocktails and I can't remember the names right now, but all of them were really good. The bar itself is amazing. We were happy with all the food overall. The only issue was the guacamole. It had an unnecessary amount of black pepper for no reason and there was no warning about it. Our daughter can't handle spicy food, so that became a bit of a problem. I still don't understand why there was THAT much black pepper in guacamole when we didn't even order anything spicy. Went here after work with coworkers and it was a really nice way to unwind. The setting is beautiful and lively, with lots of people socializing and enjoying themselves. We sat in the outdoor patio area, which was especially pleasant--string lights overhead, umbrellas for shade, and a warm, relaxed atmosphere that made it easy to settle in and stay awhile. They have an impressive signature margarita selection, and I went with the lychee azul lunarita since I'm a big fan of anything lychee. It was refreshing, lightly sweet, and very easy to drink. We also started with their chips and guacamole, which were exceptional. The chips were fresh and crisp, and the guacamole tasted incredibly clean and well-balanced. The avocados were perfectly ripe, and the seasoning was spot on and super refreshing. I ordered the Tamales Verdes de Pollo with the salsa on the side. The tamales were decent, but nothing particularly memorable compared to other tamales I've had before. I'd probably try something different next time just to explore more of the menu. That said, the epazote black beans served alongside were a pleasant surprise. They were flavorful, earthy, and honestly one of the more memorable parts of the dish. Dined here on a friend's recommendation. On a weekday, there was no waiting at aroung 8:15pm and the kitchen takes their last order at 9. The ambience of the restaurant is really good, perfect for a date. The food itself was great but not exceptional. We ordered fruta con chile, veggie grill for individual, enchillada suiza (chicken) and two drinks for 2 people. The portion sizes were enough to be shared by 3-4 people overall so the prices were justified. Choices in vegetarian dishes was really good but there were not enough chicken options. I don't know how I missed writing a review for LUNA -- this is my GO-TO for sit-down Mexican breakfast and lunch. What can I say other than it's just amazing all around. It's always a treat when I come. Breakfast here is special because they serve their chile verde in the AM. The meat is tender, fall-off-the-fork, semi-fatty in the best way -- the kind that keeps you eating even when you're full. It comes with three tortillas, and I love filling them up. And the coffee -- it's so good we asked for the recipe. It has that Mexican café de olla cinnamon flare, and they shared that they add orange peels too (the waitress even tipped us off that Costco carries a premix version, Café de Olla, if you want a taste at home -- but nothing beats theirs). THE CHIPS. Oh, the chips -- I dream about these chips. Made in house and fried to perfection, served with a green salsa that never fails to burn my tongue because it's so spicy, and yet I keep going back for more. The enchiladas are amazing too -- I usually get the beef -- with an house-made sauce where you can actually taste the tomatoes, onions, and spices. The beef salad is another good one, very refreshing. My friends have ordered the tabletop grill with meat and seafood, and it looks incredible -- that's next on my list. Service is extremely friendly. There's indoor and outdoor seating, and I love sitting outside on a warm day at the Pruneyard. Prices are on the higher end -- this is not your mom-and-pop taqueria, it's a more upscale Mexican restaurant -- but don't be deterred, because it is SO authentic and worth every penny. Came here on a Thursday night for dinner. No reservations are available as far as I know. We waited about 45 minutes, but they text you when your table is ready, which makes it manageable. The inside is dimly lit with a fun and buzzy vibe. We got the guacamole as the starter. Honestly one of the best I've had. It was creamy, salty, and the tortilla chips had this nice grainy texture that worked really well with it. For the main, got the salmon tacos. Good portion of salmon. I had a lovely lunch here today with my friend. She had recommended Luna for our lunch outing. Luna is located in Campbell, in the Pruneyard shopping center. This was my first time here, and I was really impressed. I had arrived first, so I approached the check-in area out front and requested a table for two. The staff at the booth were very friendly and welcoming. Luckily, they had a table for two ready, and a young lady escorted me inside. They had indoor and outdoor seating available. I chose to sit inside because I was cold. I was given a breakfast and lunch menu to look at while I waited for my friend to arrive. Our waiter came by and brought chips and two different salsas and cold water. I let him know I was waiting for my friend. He was very kind and let me know he'd come back once my friend arrived. The restaurant inside is huge. They can accommodate a lot of people. There is also outdoor patio seating and an outdoor bar. I loved all the options on the menu. There were many things I was considering trying. I am currently on Lent and have given up all meat, except fish, until Easter. They do offer a few vegetarian items as well as fish and seafood. My friend arrived not long after I was checking out the menu. Our waiter came back and took our order. He asked if we had any allergies or diet restrictions. I let him know about my pescatarian diet for Lent, and he said they could accommodate me with any requests or substitutions. I was able to order the enchiladas with shrimp instead of chicken. I got one with the red sauce and one with the green sauce. He made sure the beans I got were vegetarian. I can't tell you how much I appreciated that. My friend ordered the steak salad. It was a little loud inside the restaurant, but my friend and I were still able to hear each other and catch up on things. Our order arrived and everything looked amazing. I loved my shrimp enchiladas. Both the red sauce and green sauce were so delicious. I also enjoyed the vegetarian pinto beans and verde rice. My friend enjoyed her salad and her steak was cooked a perfect medium rare. The chips and salsas were also very good. One salsa was a green Serrano salsa and the other one was a mild red salsa. Both were fresh and delicious. Before we left, we saw two employees making fresh tortillas, inside, close to where you exit the restaurant. Now I know why my tortillas in my enchiladas tasted so good. They make them fresh all day. Our experience here today was just amazing. Had lunch at Luna with a friend today. It's been a year since I ate there. We ate inside rather than the patio because it was cold today. While it was comfortable inside, it was also very loud. The place was super busy but there was no wait for a table at 11:30am on a Saturday. Our waiter provided excellent service and our food came out fast. I had the skirt steak salad, same thing I had a year ago, and it was even better than I remembered. They cooked the steak medium rare, as I requested, and it was tender and flavorful. I loved the salad mixture with roasted corn, avocado slices, blue cheese, cherry tomatoes, and mixed greens. I also enjoyed my bottle of Mexican Coke. My friend had two shrimp enchiladas, one suiza and one roja. It looked delicious and she said she really liked it.
