There was only one server working and she was really hustling to meet everyone's needs. Plus, she was friendly. I had the carne asada burrito, it was good but nothing over the top that made it stand out. My friend had enchiladas with mole. We were most excited about dessert and decided to share the churros and Tres leches. It was a nice touch that the churros and Tres leches did not come plain, a little pizzazz since they were both served with berries, whipped cream, and a cajeta style sauce. Second time dining here, the experience this time was more positive. We walked in around 6PM on a Friday night and there was no line and only a couple of tables occupied. We ordered right away and were served in a timely manner. Located in a large plaza with plenty of parking. We were a big group and called ahead for reservations. Our group ordered an assortment of appetizers (guacamole, queso fundido, chips and salsa). Generous amounts of guacamole but not enough chips - however our server refilled whenever we asked. The chips were very oily and a bit stale/hard, but the guac, salsa, and queso were yummy. Other people in my group got the burger, Jambalaya, fish tacos, and Al pastor tacos. I tried the jambalaya, and it was overall good but a bit dry and bland (even after getting it spicy). Again, pretty steep in price for the flavor of the dish. My friends didn't like the fish tacos very much, and felt that the tacos were very small. Service was very friendly and attentive, and seating was spacious with plenty of tables and booths. Overall decent food, but the price is comparatively steeper than other places in the area for the quality, flavor, and portion sizes of the food. Located in a small shopping center, Añejo Cantina lived up to its high-star reviews. We felt welcome from the moment we walked in up until we left. I ordered the green enchiladas with a side order of beans and rice. It tasted delicious and homemade. My boyfriend ordered the pollo en mole and also enjoyed it. The churros had bits of strawberry in them and were served with berries, whipped cream, and some sort of coffee/caramel sauce. Found this place on Yelp and headed over. It looked fairly recently remodeled. Great full bar and friendly service. My roommate and I shared an order of Guacamole, which was small but very tasty. We ended up needing more tostadas for it, which cost $3 extra, so I do wish it had come with more. For entrees, we shared the Shrimp Tacos and Chicken Enchiladas. The tacos were tasty in a minimalistic way, but I loved the tortillas they used. The Enchiladas were fantastic - flavorful and filling. I also loved that we could get them half with Salsa Roja and half Verde. We weren't planning on getting dessert until the table next to us ordered the Churros, which looked SO good. Good Mexican food with good variety. We were a bit skeptical since we saw fewer items than what was actually available online. Their food from appetizers to dessert, everything tasted good. I got veg enchiladas and others in the table got taco, burritos etc and everyone liked what they ordered. Kids especially liked the chicken burrito. For dessert they had churros and tres leches. Though they warned us that their tres leches is on a drier side, we still ordered it and liked it though it wasn't the wet tres leches we are used to. We were greeted by Andres, who ended up being our server as well. He was kind and knowledgeable and shared all of his favorite things about the menu. The margaritas were so delicious. If we had more time and didn't have to drive back down the Peninsula, I would have tried more of their speciality cocktails. Tried out a new restaurant and was so happy we did, easy parking, outdoor seating (we had our dog) and super friendly staff. We checked in and got the free appetizer of chips and guacamole and it was delicious. I got the shrimp tacos (delicious) and so filling, my husband got the chicken fajitas and it looked and smelled amazing. He took half home because it was such great portions. Chips is such a basic staple food and it was cold and stale and it was hard to chew. The waiter did try to give us another plate that is little bit crisper (but still cold and not fresh). Since it's an appetizer, that unfortunately left a bad first impression for the night. Also it was $11. Not a huge sum of money but the quality was really not there. The fish taco was actually good. This place had such good reviews here on Yelp, that I had to try it out. It is on Williams Road in a strip mall near the corner of Winchester Blvd. I believe the reviews are justified. The restaurant is new-looking and clean inside with outside seating and a bar area inside. We sat in one of the booths. The menu is on the small side compared to most full-service Mexican restaurants, and the prices are a bit on the high side. But their quesadilla (which came with veggies inside, including spinach and corn) won me over; it was delicious. I ordered a side of rice and beans, and they were pretty good. My husband had the tacos Dorados; he said it was great and finished the entire meal. He had the agua fresca, which was watermelon, and it was light and refreshing. The service was good. The owners are welcoming and hospitable. This restaurant has been open for about a year now, I sure hope that they don't change because they are so GREAT! Definitely family owned because of its special charm and great vibes! The bar is stocked with many options. The food is delicious. We had several plates. Which will be included with pictures. The lamb was so tender. They gave me a bit of the broth in case I found it dry. It was not dry but the broth sure gave it an extra yum. The fajitas were delicious with lots of bell pepper. The enchiladas were great and flavorful. We ordered a small plate for a child and it was the perfect size. The drinks were smooth, delicious, and had that good kick. Mango margarita, añejo margarita, and the oaxaquita drink was great too. Nonalcoholic beverage we ordered was the watermelon agua Fresca so delicious! The ambiance was nice. I came for my birthday so we had churros in order to share with each other. It's definitely a place for friends and family to have a great meal for dinner and enjoy the food, conversation and music! If you're celebrating something be sure to let them know. They'll go the extra mile for your special occasion. They offer catering and other things.
