I had a taste for a quesadilla and decided to have one delivered from El Amigo Burrito to my office for lunch. I'd never heard of this restaurant, but it had good reviews so I decided to give it a try. Ordered a quesadilla appetizer with cheese and chicken, plus a side order of guacamole. It arrived quickly and was packaged nicely. The quesadilla was good, except one half was plain and without seasoning while the other half was flavorful and seasoned. It had lots of chicken and was thick with melted cheese. It turned out the quesadilla came with plenty of guacamole on the side, so the extra container I ordered wasn't necessary. First, let me say that they tried to be accommodating with some food allegeries. However, it was impossible for them to bring flavor to carnitas (like adding salt) to unfortunately the most gristly small cubes of meat. The guacamole apparently is premade as a request for no onions could not be met. What came out was a cup that had the consistency and color of pistachio pudding. We were feeling a bit under the weather and had a need for some hot chicken soup since it's nature's antibiotic. We discovered this place on our DoorDash App and had it delivered. It was very fresh and healthy and definitely very worthy of being called, "Caldo de Pollo"! Mexican Taqueria's and Restaurants have a great way of making different types of Mexican inspired soups and they added rice & beans and tortillas on the side. They have a lot of parking here in their shared lot, located on Stevens Creek blvd. You get seated and they bring you the menu along with chips and salsa. I ordered the chicken burrito and my partner had the steak a la Mexicana. The burrito was pretty good, I didn't finish it, had to take it home. My partner really enjoyed his steak and said he would definitely return for it and to try the other food on the menu. There were a lot of tables and seating inside the restaurant. When you complain on yelp about your experience with the food, the owner will ALWAYS be negative in his answers. The tamale had very little meat. I never saw a "I'm sorry you were not satisfied and will talk to the cook, or please give us another try" response, very rude answers. read more

Amigo Burrito is a comfortable establishment. Not beat up but lacking the ambiance of a hipster joint. The server was the only one in front but she managed it very nicely, thank you very much. They served delicious chips paired with a nicely spicy red sauce and salsa. I ordered the el amigo burrito. It was generously sized although I managed to eat almost all of it because I'd skipped breakfast and it was a late lunch. The burrito was a bit odd. The veg was mostly lettuce but this was easily fixed by adding salsa. This made the mix of vegetables that I'm used to and I had no complaints with the mixture of veg. The burrito was generously topped with sour cream and avocado. The only flaw was the presence of dried bits of pork mixed in with nicely done pork. The dried bits were so hardened that they were difficult to chew. I ended up picking out these bits and the rest of the burrito was just fine. I'm guessing the kitchen had overcooked pork leftovers that they needed to get rid of after the lunch rush. I certainly understand they didn't want to waste food but there has got to have a better way to do this. Perhaps they could use it to flavor pork stock. I mentioned this to the server and hopefully they take my feedback to heart. The price was in line with other casual Mexican dining establishments. About 15 bucks for a burrito. read more

Solid and consistent burritos. I'm plain, beans, rice, salsa, no meat or dairy. The flavors are quite nice. Chips are freshly made, and the quantity we got with a to-go order was nice. The hot sauce is off the chain. Nom noms. Just the right kick. Guacamole is super tasty, and the portion size did not disappoint. Ordering on delivery apps will cost you an arm and half a leg. If you're somewhere nearby, just pop in and order it on the spot. The woman who helped me was very kind and bare sure I had all the things I needed in the bag. Next time we will just eat there. My husband and I checked out El Amigo Burrito for the first time and were pretty satisfied with the experience. We stopped by around 4pm on a Friday. The place wasn't too busy, which worked out in our favor since we were in a bit of a time crunch. We had recently came back from Mexico City, so I appreciated all the traditional decor. Service was OK. There was one waitress, who was holding down the fort at the time. Customer service was understandably slow, but I knew she was trying to be everywhere all at once and be as attentive as she could. We shared an enchilada + chile relleno combo plate. My husband got the beef enchilada, and I asked for the chile relleno on the side. I was blown away by the size of the pepper. I was expecting a small one, but the pepper was the length of a large plate. It had so much flavor, loaded with cheese and smothered in ranchera sauce. Interestingly, the cheese they used was yellow. Not some type of white cheese I'm used to seeing. I don't typically get full off an a la carte chile relleno, but I was stuffed after having El Amigo Burrito's. Despite my last review, I can confidently say that this place is my go-to spot when I'm craving a giant wet chile verde burrito. I haven't tried much of their other food, but my burrito order never disappoints. I enjoy how they don't skimp out on the filling of the burrito and I love the chile verde sauce that's poured over. The pieces of meat are chunky, tender, and just cooked perfectly. Service has also improved here and the workers are very attentive. read more

I've been a customer here for years, and have finally decided to leave a review. Went here for a party, and I am once again impressed by el amigo burrito. Ordered the flautas plate, and it took only 15 minutes to come, which is impressive since our party size was 14+ people. The food was good, except for the rice which was a little cold, but I'm sure I could have asked for a warm plate. I wasn't bothered too much by it. The waitresses were accommodating of our large party, and they even took a photo of our table when we asked. The authentic decorations and colorful walls definitely add to the atmosphere! read more

After El Burro closed in Campbell, this was always my second choice. Their Chile Verde is pretty good here compared to many places I have been. Sadly, the prices are too high now and the portions have shrunk in the past couple of years. Had a chance to try El Amigo Burrito and I must say this is a really cute shop for some yummy Mexican food. The restaurant is a cute spot to sit in whether it's with family or friends. We did a pick up order, but the interior was very nice. For our order we got: *Chicken burrito - this was stuffed with lots of chicken, bell peppers and onions and was every bit delicious! We enjoyed every bite and the red salsa this came with. *Chicken enchilada - this was also yummy but I was not the biggest fan of the sauce on top as it was very salty. I usually don't ever order this item, but I just wanted something that the simple folks ordered... I ordered the enchilada meal with ground beef on flour tortillas . It came with the usual of refried beans and Spanish rice.... I didn't notice that it did taste different from other places I've had at least with the Spanish rice and refried beans. beans . I did request lots of pickled jalapeño peppers .. What I did get was chopped up, jalapeño peppers with none of the hot seeds that I needed I wanted.. the only thing that I did receive hot was their version of hot sauce, which was OK, but not hot enough for me.... It also came with a side salad with a very, very, very small side of Italian dressing very generic, not enough. I found this to be for the typical common folks you who like Americanized Mexican food .. I am unlike everyone else I am a foodie and a very good self-taught Cook.‍..‍ I've been eating and cooking food eating food or more than 45 years... so I know what I'm talking about.. I will say it was very good. Very decent but nothing very much outstanding.... Burrito size is pretty massive, you could probably get 2 meals out of each. My favorite new favorite Mexican restaurant since Maria Elena Restaurant closed down on Alviso. I'm very picky about Mexican food since I grew up on Maria Elena's food and El Amigo Burrito is closest thing to it. I actually been coming here for a while now to get my fix. Today I had the combo plate chicken enchilada , chicken taco which comes with rice, beans and salad. It's just made perfect! Enchilada sauce is so yummy can smother it on everything. Rice is so fluffy and beans are perfect not dried at all. My kids had the chili verde wet burritos asada burrito also wet with red sauce. Again also yummy! Other visit I've had the relleno, chili verde, chili colorado and they all have been delicious. The carnitas is a hit or miss as it can be dried, but I always get enchilada sauce in the side to dip it in. As you can see I pretty much prefer plated dish than taqueria food. I love comfort food. The place has pretty good seating accommodation. It's a family owned place with two servers. Restaurant is not close to me but it worth my drive. read more

I LOVE pork tamales and this one was AMAZING! Covered in sauce and the masa was just right. I ate super slowly (I was waiting for my car) and really savored it. Only negative: The chips were FREE, but grocery store chips, not fresh. Since I love fresh chips, that's the only reason I gave one less star. Both salsas were tasty. Otherwise, it would be 5 star, so GO EAT HERE! I got the Pork Tamale Lunch Plate special. For $18.50 plus tip, I felt it was a good deal for me and, with some chips, it was just the right size. I walked out feeling just right. Prices jump up a good deal if you venture off the lunch meal, so note that if you come for dinner or have a bigger appetite. Vegetarian reviewer: Tried their vegetarian burrito yesterday - no sauce coz someone told in reviews that sauce is not vegetarian. Really, you got to tell that sauce is not vegetarian in your menu everywhere. Come on what age are you in. But anyway, I was fine the burrito was filled with stuff - that was really good. It tasted really good, I'd ordered without guac/sour cream and it was still good. However, I have complain I am unhappy about is the tortilla was almost uncooked- it looked completely white. I guess you gotta tell them to make it crispy, coz I had to put the burrito on the pan for a good 10 min to make it nicer. I honestly feel bad to reduce two stars - I hope they reply to me/ take some action. Would love to put more stars here soon.
