I think Tutor Doctor was a great help for my daughter to brush up on her math during the summer. The way I found out about them was kind of funny: I was waiting at Starbucks and saw their ad on the cork board. Never heard of them before and had my doubts. They cared about the match between tutor and student and the tutor explained to me she worked with ADHD kids before - which was an extra assurance. I'm planning to pick up sessions again in the fall and around tests. I highly recommend Tutor Doctor!  My son was struggling to maintain a low B in an advanced math course with 8 weeks left to go in the semester.  He is normally a good student but didn't grasp a few concepts and was falling behind.  I decided to call Tutor Doctor because my son's friend also uses them.  I spoke to Chris Lien, the owner, about my son's situation.  He instantly knew the details of how the math class is taught and is familiar with my son's school.  He was confident that with some help, my son could get back on track.  Based on my son's characteristics, Tutor Doctor assigned a tutor who they thought would work best for him.  He had the option to meet in person or Zoom.  We chose Zoom, twice a week.  My son's tutor Matthew McMahon is fantastic! Matthew helped my son review some areas from the past that he didn't grasp and worked with him in more detail than his teacher did on his current assignments.  My son enjoyed his tutoring lessons and they helped him immensely.  Tutor Doctor also provides an update report after each tutoring session so you can understand what was covered.  We are thrilled with the results as my son went from a low B to an A in his class!  We plan to continue with Tutor Doctor next year as they really do provide that extra help that a student may need to succeed.  Tutor Doctor is very well organized and well run.  They do a wonderful job understanding the student's needs and assign the right tutor for the job.  Again, I highly recommend this company! read more

My son needed some extra help in middle school with math and english. He has a tutor, Chelsea, that comes three times a week. He is understanding math so much better and he is writing papers with ease!!!! Chelsea brought a writing tool that my son can easily follow to assist him in his writing. Before this, it was like pulling teeth! The sessions are 1.5 hours and they really work hard together. My son never complains about Chelsea coming....which is really weird, because he complained before about hating school.
