As someone that services cars I took a look to verify and none of it was true. They said the control arms had cracks in the seals, but they were perfectly fine. I checked the rear brakes and they were fine. They were trying to scam $1700 out of a young girl that did not know any better. The estimate was written on a notepad from another company. BE VERY CAREFUL with this company, get a second opinion! I am filing this with the BBB.

Came in for a new transmission, broken AC and a leaking tire. Was told it would be a week, which sounds good as that was every time line we were told from other places we called. A week goes by and the parts still weren't in, again I mean that's just shipping and it happens, can't really blame the shop. After a week and a half they install the new transmission, but said there was something wrong so they kept working on it. Another week goes by and they say they need to order ANOTHER trans. At this point we are very frustrated as we needed this vehicle back 3 weeks ago. But I mean who knows what is really going on so we just hang tight. Finally, a MONTH later, we get a text that the trans was replaced and good to go but they didn't have time to fully fix the ac. Didn't have time? You had it for a month and decided until the last day to look at the AC. They replaced the blower motor but said they would have to take the whole thing out and didn't have time for it, so it was ultimately a temporary fix for a full charge. After asking for a price break down he gave us $150 off. Woopie after a $7,500 ordeal that didn't feel sufficient. They then charged our card for the second half of our bill after we explicitly said "we do not authorize this charge" and we also don't remember saying they could save the card on file..... if that wasn't all enough to make us never come back we then find out the tire was never fixed after it went flat on the road a few days later. To which the guy says "looks like I forgot" !!! Now the AC stopped working because again it was never actually fixed in the first place. Truly unacceptable from start to finish. They clearly do not care about doing a good job and just want your money. He asked us multiple times to pay the remaining balance before we even picked up the vehicle or had any work done. Avoid at all costs.

The whole process took about 3-4 hours and cost $700. I'm pretty happy with the cost/time. I would feel comfortable taking my car back again for more suspension work.

I considered going to the Subaru dealer in Beaverton but I gravitated to Brock Automotive because of their stellar, glowing reviews. Glad I did. First, scheduling online is easy and they text you confirmations and reminders. They also respond to texts quickly and efficiently. Note that you will likely need to drop off your vehicle as they are very busy - another good sign! - and though I needed to leave my Subaru overnight, the repairs were done in a reasonable amount of time for the services required. What I also like is their system of 'needs attention, could wait, and doesn't need work' that is color-coded on their estimate sheet by Red, Yellow, and Green; as well the costs for the repairs are clear on that sheet. You can then decide what you want done, approve it, and they will begin the work on your car. My estimate is just what I paid, so zero surprises. Immediately walking in to their shop office, I was greeted cheerily and nicely by Coy--I felt comfortable and relaxed. Picking up my car, I was greeted by an owner, who was equally as cheerful and nice. My car was waiting for me right out front when I exited the office - everything was clean just as I'd left it. After sending the VIN out to a handful of shops, Dean was one of few who responded, had worked on the vehicle, and was able to clear up some details. Since then, I've chosen Futrell as my go-to for routine and incidental maintenance. I especially appreciate their transparency, which is the most important aspect of interaction with a business for me. For more basic stuff, I prefer to do some of my own maintenance. In one case, there was an aspect of routine maintenance that we hadn't discussed when I dropped my vehicle off. Megan called to discuss that with me before the work was executed, giving me agency in whether or not I would handle that aspect of the service myself - something I really appreciated. In another case, I was dealing with a dying Turbo. Megan was very responsive in getting me an estimate and, since timing was a critical component of my decision making process, outlined projected timelines / availability for the repair. Megan wound up referring me to another shop across town that was able to get me back on the road sooner. I've previously dealt with other shops that try to secure paying work by telling the customer what they want to hear while failing to meet those expectations, the team at Futrell are looking out for what's in their clients' best interests and for that they have my loyalty.
