What a start for a soft opening. The line on Saturday afternoon wasn't too crazy, but they did an excellent job of keeping people updated at the status of their order and even offered complimentary drinks because it was taking longer than expected. It's a cozy spot with roughly 5 4-tops for seating. Most people were getting theirs to go. Portions are huge and made super fresh. My kids are super picky and they put down their food with vigor. Daughter had the kids fish and son had the chicken strips. Great quality and portions on both. Wife and I had the large fish and chips, and honestly would have been more than full with just a half portion. We'll definitely be visiting again!

Amazing, food. Owner is very out going. Space is limited. Portions are generous. If you are looking for crisp fries this is not you gig.

Very good fish n chips! My wife and I split a full order and it was plenty. Everything was fresh made and the fries were excellent.

The kitchen is also an open kitchen - how cool! The service staff are enthusiastic about the food and very polite. Both the food and cocktails are SO GOOD. I had some sort of spritz and it was super sweet. We split the mussels ($29), Market Fresh Fish (cod, $32), and the steak tartare ($22). The steak tartare is SUPER garlicky be forewarned, but really good. The mussels are huge and tasty, and the fish of the day was fresh and beautifully plated/cooked.

Our drinks were always full and she answered all our questions. She brought me beer samples to figure out which one I wanted. The waiter was busy but always greeted and said goodbye to all guests coming and going. Food 10/10 For the tablet we got calamari, the Durkins famous double cheeseburger and the fried bologna sandwich. The food was extremely fresh! The cheese was melted to perfection. We left with full bellies but not feeling heavy. The food was decadent but not greasy. My husband got a mocktail, spiced cranberry and it was fabulous! My husband and I can't wait to go back. We paid approximately $100 with tip, so it's not cheap, but WORTH IT for the quality of food and service.

When we walked in, they were pretty busy so we sat at the bar and quickly ordered the cougar gold cheese dip. Now I went to Washington State University. This is where the cougar gold cheese is made and of course I wanted to try the dip! Now the big problem we had with the restaurant had to do with silverware - we had none! And as we were sitting at the bar on a busy Friday night, it's not like the bartender was readily available to give us some. The good thing is that when the cheese dip came? We did not need silverware - and boy was that dip good! So that was a resounding success - the dip that is. So we put our name in for a table at the same time we were seated at the bar, so we moved over to a small table when our dinner arrived! I had the cougar gold burger (natch) and hubby had the pot roast sandwich - now let me tell you, the cougar Gold burger was fantastic - and hubby really enjoyed the pot roast sandwich which came with some au jus. For me? The french fries came with fry sauce! Yes! Finally fry sauce is readily available at some restaurants now! It's not good for you - but it tastes fantastic! Truth be told, we have eaten at this restaurant before, but have never rated it. So the only thing that rated the demerit? It was just simply the fact that there was no silverware or napkins given to us until we had to ask - we shouldn't have had to ask. But I can tell you we will always choose to come here when we make it to Spokane. And that's a pretty good sign don't you think?

The ambience was a throwback, and I would love to see a restaurant this large bustling. It was clean but dated, in a charming way if you can appreciate its history. We had the boo boo appetizer platter which was good, although the quantity of food wasn't quite worth the price and it was tough for each person to try each item. The favorite was the fried prawn and egg rolls. My husband ordered the No 1 and I ordered the No 2. My dish was great! The fried rice lacked flavor. My husband's dish, while elements were good, was overall unappetizing from the plating and what seemed to be a pile of steamed cabbage taking up half the plate. My mom's Moo Shu pork was disappointing to her, but as someone that has no frame of reference for what it should be I thought it was good. I will say, I loved that nothing was super greasy and everything seemed fresh. It was not the best tasting Chinese food, but I also didn't leave with a gut bomb and feeling gross. I'll probably be back given its convenient location and fresh options!
