Eric replaced the factory alpine audio system in my Jeep Wrangler JL. He added a pre-amp and amp to clean and power up the factory stereo. He replaced the front 4 speakers (which involves removing a good portion of the dash) and he replaced the 4 smaller roll bar speakers with a pair of 6.5's. The work looks and sounds great! The price was fair for the amount of work it took. I dropped the Jeep off Saturday morning and it was ready mid-afternoon. I would definitely recommend Eric. read more

Eric may well be the most honest person I've met in this business. I wanted to upgrade the stereo in my Ioniq 5 and was concerned that no one was familiar with EV's. But Eric came back immediately with a series of recommendations and we decided to upgrade the speakers. When I brought over the vehicle, Eric listened to the system and told me that the new speakers are not going to sound much better. We also considered adding an amplifier, adding an amplifier with separate speakers, a subwoofer, etc. At the end of the day, we agreed that the cost outweighed the benefits. This is a very good guy with which to do business. I wanted to change out the original head unit on GMC truck because it was obsolete. I tried an online company that promised plug and play capability and I could do it myself. Wrong! Auto Spot quoted a reasonable price and had it installed in an afternoon. He talked through some options, both with his suggested line of products and other but wasn't pushy. I ultimately ordered my own and brought it. Went in to just get guidance on replacing halogen headlight bulbs with LEDs I got online. They gave me a heads up on what I could expect prior to me even giving them the job (some people in the past found the LEDs weren't as bright as HIDs because it's a newer market with various levels of quality out there online). They happened to have HIDs on hand and were willing to show me the difference if i wasn't happy with my LEDs. They got me in same day, installed the LEDs in minutes and brought me out to ensure I was happy with the finished product. They took their time to ensure the install was clean as well. I purchased the car stereo from Crutchfield, they bundle all the installation hardware. Phoned up and scheduled a slot, $70 for install. Narrow entrance, but owner drives van in. It is a small shop, pretty much one entrepreneur with lots of experience, so talented and conscientious service. No wifi and weak cell so if you are waiting bring work. Install took 45 minutes. Since I found this place through Yelp, I should put a review back here as a warning to others. I contacted Eric via message from Yelp and even brought my car down to the shop to ask about the installation and cover potential issues. "No problem. We can do it Friday." Except I guess they couldn't. Got called at 3pm today, Friday, that the car was ready but all Eric had managed to do was jam it, a half inch inset into the dash no better than I could. I complained so he tried again while I waited. For two hours. Most of that was waiting for Eric to re-paint the dash panel he damaged the 2nd time around. After the 2nd attempt, the new Sony unit closer to flush but twisted to the right in the dash opening. I complained again he spent another 30 minutes at it before closing up shop for the night. On the way home I found where he'd tried to conceal breaking the trim bits around the gear shift. Just ordered $260+ in new dash parts from Subaru and am looking for a new installer. Eric at Twin Cities Auto Spot is, as far as I can tell, the hands down best guy to go to to upgrade your car stereo or--as was the case with me--finish up the hack job I started but couldn't finish. Best Buy wanted to charge me $100 for a wiring harness, $70 for a steering wheel adapter thing, $70 for regular installation, another $60 to install the steering wheel adapter thing, and then another $20 for a fit kit. I went to several other places--all of whom--every single one--made me feel like I was doing something awful to them by trying to pay them for work. Not Eric at TCAutoSpot. He did it all for a flat $70 even though I got the parts from Crutchfield. It wasn't even a unit he sells and he got me in same day and went so far as to show me all the features and so forth.
