I grabbed food from this place yesterday since my favorite Chinese restaurant was closed. This place was a little pricey, but it wasn't too overpriced. In regard to the food, I have to say that the Mongolian beef was exceptional, the schezwan chicken was ok (I think it needed more spice to it), and the orange chicken was sadly my least favorite. I didn't like it at all because it needed more sweetness it my opinion and just wasn't what I'm used to but that's ok. I was lucky to throw my daughter a beautiful first birthday party at a restaurant that I grew up going to! We celebrated with our 50+ guests in the private upstairs room which has a charming ambiance thanks to the lighting on the windows that overlook the main dining floor. There was ample space for 6 tables to seat everyone as well as three tables and a floor mat for our traditional Korean birthday ceremony. Our 10-item dinner selection was served hot, fresh, and delicious! The servings were huge! This made eating family-style exciting and comfortable. Everyone has raved about the food to me in the days following the party. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and there is a service call button which can be used in a pinch. Last but not least, the owners were a dream to work with while planning this big party. They were kind and accommodating as we visited and called multiple times, and everything day-of was exactly as they promised it would be. (And for anyone planning a big event, it may help to know they speak English as well.) There is literally not a thing I can complain about as everything was above and beyond my expectations. So if you're looking for a place to have a private event, don't hesitate! I'm so glad to have made a wonderful family memory here and hope to have a chance to do so again. I have been coming here for over 20 years. THE BEST MONGOLIAN BEEF EVER. Don't waste ur time on fried food it's going to kill you any way and is awful from this place. The real trick is to get a dinner for 2 or 3 and replace the fried food with anything else. Also the sizleing rice soup is the bomb.com and also don't forget the bannana cookies !!! I honestly love this Resturant. Walking in you will always be greeted by the staff or usually the older man that I believe is the owner . This mans work ethic melts my heart. He's always the first to greet customers and the first to clean up the tables. Enough about the staff.... the food! Holy cow, I love it. The sauces taste spicy and tangy and the food always comes out hot and tasty. Some of their dishes do get pretty spicy! My favorite dish is the kung pao chicken! Also, my boyfriend has a very sensitive stomach, many Chinese/Thai places that we go to cause him to get pretty sick... since day one this place has never given him any issues. I was vastly disappointed in this place as I ordered a meal and just got four pieces of beef on a stick. I don't know if they mix something up or so I just order an appetizer before over ten bucks and having four pieces of meat on a stick does not bode well for this business and I don't know what happened. There should have been much more to this meal with rice or something. I feel compelled to give this place a review because it holds a special place in my life. My family has gone to this place since I was a little kid and was a staple for most Korean families in the NW suburbs. Fast forward many, many years, and ever since I moved to Chicago, I found myself coming with a friend nearly every Friday for probably the last 1.5 years (I've probably gone around 60-70 times since the beginning of 2018.). I always order the same thing (gochujjapchae - stir fried pork and jjang pong), and all the waiters and the owners know me, and so they start cooking the moment I walk in. I am a creature of habit, but I take the train from downtown Chicago and my friend who lives out in the burbs picks me up to go to this restaurant - it isn't a simple walk in the park. That's how much I love the food that I get. There are no places I have been to that make the jjang pong they do - it's a rich broth with handmade noodles and every time, they try something a little different, which is a testament to their willingness to get the right flavor. I would say the times I've caved for the mongolian beef, it's been one of the best I've had. Everyone is always friendly and always provide good service. If you don't believe me about having gone here 60-70 times since 2018, ask the owners and ask them about the people who get the jjang pong and gochujjapchae. We've never deviated from our order. tl;dr - go and try the jjang pong and gochujjapchae (or Mongolian beef). read more

I don't know where these complainers are talking about ! The orange chicken is delicious, the presentation of a whole cut up orange surrounds the melt in your mouth dish. Their mongolian beef is always fantastic and very tasty and very tender; with their sauce and scallions. Their crispy duck is the best me and my wife ever tasted; a great portion and is always fresh. we have been going to the Twin Dragon and have never been disappointed. The owner always comes by and asks us how is the meal. I think sometimes people put poor rated ads in here so people go elsewhere. We were looking for a restaurant that had duck on the menu and ended up at a nearby restaurant, not Twin Dragon, and were told when we placed the order that that had no duck. So this is how we ended up at this lovely restaurant. You cannot tell how quaint it is inside from the plain strip mall front. Everything we ordered was fresh made. The vegetables were all prepared that day. The duck was excellent. We also had potstickers with scallions and pork inside with a delicious sauce and we had sizzling rice with chicken. The portions were very large and the greeting when we arrived and the service throughout was impeccable! We will be back! read more

I would like to give this place zero stars...but I'll start from the beginning. I started going to Twin Dragon when I was in High School in 1993 or so. It was my favorite Chinese restaurant EVER, especially their chow mein, fried bananas, and mongolian chicken. I almost cried in frustration when the restaurant was bought by Korean owners and incorporated Korean food. I detest Korean food, the smell (OH GOD, the smell of the cabbage), the food, the aesthetic unappeal of it. When I came into the resturant the stench of the cabbage was overwhelming. My Chinese girlfriend turns to be in horror and said, " Oh God, It's Korean now". We tried to give it our best, and sat down...but just couldn't live with the smell and the thought that our Chinese food will taste Korean. So Long Twin Dragon, we had such a good run. I've dined in a few times with friends. Its the best Korean/Chinese offer in the area. And amongst some of the fast food Chinese its better than those joints. Crab Rangoon's are just OK. Not to be had alone. Share. I think the flavor was too sweet for my taste. I use chili sauce to balance the flavor. Decor is outdated like one of those funky Chinese restaurants you find in country states. There is a party room available.. not 100% sure if its a party room or used as a bar(i.e. room salon, Google that for the meaning). I suggest making sure to tell your waiter twice, to add spice and no MSG. If that's how you like it. If you're stopping into Korean/Chinese places, order stuff you've never tried before. Look at other tables. Sometimes places like these don't offer menu's stating the Korean dishes available. Which sux for Americans that aren't in the know. You miss out on some divine dishes. I've been gong to Twin Dragon for years. My family has had many memories here as they served us hot bowls of jja-jjang myun (noodles in black bean sauce), champong (noodles in a spicy seafood soup) and lajang myun (noodles in a spicy brown sauce). My favorite Chinese-Korean restaurant. Their mongolian beef is exactly how it should be along with their ghan poon gi (sweet and spicy fried chicken), ghan poong sae woo (sweet and spicy fried shrimp), and kochu chap chae (thinly sliced pepper and beef). Summing it up, DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE. I have so many things to "complaint" about this place. Let's talk about the food quality. Oh my! I ordered tangsuyuk, which is a deep fried beef strips, and there was little meat with plenty of fry batter! Also ordered japchae rice thing, too oily! Had diarrhea for the entire day! There were more dishes I ordered but it was simply BELOW STANDARD compared to other places. Pricing was awful given the poor food quality + tiny portion. Sorry but if you can't get the food quality high, at least make it cheap or huge portion! Service was awful as well. We tried to order this spicy fish stew, which I forgot the name, but they just said they cant saying it would take too much time. =.= If you can't make them in a timely fashion, take it off of your menu. Don't order the combination dishes because those aren't really that cheap if you calculate them individually. AVOID AVOID AVOID. If you looked right behind Omegas on Golf road, you'd see Twin dragon Chinese rest. The place is huge w/ a golf game those mammoth screens on almost every time we go. It's a shame what's been going on with the suffering restaurants, but we try and frequent the ones we really love till they get back to business! The Orange chicken is so good here it's too bad the whole world can't taste it. Fresh slices of orange sit between lightly breaded pieces of delicious thin tasty sliced chicken ! Don't go w/o trying their Moo Shoo chicken! Fantastic! Small cut veggies, mixed w/ the tastiest pieces of chicken all made to be wrapped up in a thin Chinese crepe-like creation, and there's plum sauce to spread on top of it -- don't miss this dish! Because some people don't seem to realize this, I just want to start by letting everyone know that this restaurant is a Chinese-Korean (or Korean-Chinese) restaurant. It serves jja jjang myun and other Chinese-Korean dishes and is pretty good. It's a very particular type of Chinese food and tends to be pretty heavy. (Charlie B., I've also lived in SF Bay Area and Los Angeles and often go to a lot of different ethnic restaurants. SF has some good Chinese restaurants (and they're not as half good as the Chinese places in Monterey Park) but does not have very good Chinese-Korean food. And Anna B, if you don't like Korean food that's fine but the way you go on about it is really offensive and makes you sound a little crazy. Don't go to a Chinese-Korean restaurant and then complain that it serves Chinese-Korean food.) read more

This establishment is a must stay away from unless you are OK with being forced to pay 20% tip no matter what. The only reason I didn't make a scene it was Easter and I had my family with me. I've been eating take out from Twin Dragon for more than 10 years and through all the management/service staff/food changes, the quality remains quite good. They serve both Chinese and some Korean food and the restaurant is located in the Golf Glen Plaza. Ok back to the food. My fave is the Mongolian Beef because of the strong flavor. I haven't dined at any other restaurant that comes close to Twin Dragon's Mongolian beef. They have all the other standards of Cantonese cuisine: BBQ pork, egg rolls, General Tso chicken, combination fried rice, Lo mein, Sweet And Sour pork/chicken/fish, Crab Rangoon, Egg Foo Young, etc. However about 5 or 6 years ago they chose to change the way the cook the egg foo young. They thought it would be "healthier" to fry an egg pattie (not deep fry) and place the vegetables loose in a new gravy. Um...that's weird, nontraditional and the ONLY dish they changed! So they haven't really made the menu all that healthier! The flavor for that changed as well and no longer order egg foo young. I still love everything else though. The dining room is beautiful for a strip mall restaurant. They have a full bar, party room and karaoke room. Interesting huh? The service is good and friendly. If you like the Chinese take out eateries that sell "lunchbox" type meals, this isn't the place for you. The price point is a bit higher like the better restaurants in China Town. read more

This place makes me SO SAD! For more than a decade up until about 5 years ago, this place was a gem. They had the BEST kung pao shrimp, and several of their Korean dishes, like Ja Jang Myun, were exceptional. But in the last several years, the quality of the food has gone way down. For example, it's no longer unusual to get mushy (i.e., old) shrimp. Yuck!
