Had lunch with about a dozen buddies today at Twin Peaks in Shenandoah, Texas. Food was decent and the prices okay, but the service was non-existent! None! And there were hardly any other people in the place. After we got our food, we apparently became invisible. All I wanted was more iced tea, a reasonable request. My fiancé & I frequent Twin Peaks weekly - because of the environment, food & service we receive while there. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is a Sunday afternoon trying to come in to watch football around 2:45. As the high top tables by the bar were clearing out finally, my fiancé walked up to the host stand, asked if we could have one of those tables. A blonde server named "Lexi" with glasses in her hair, was fairly disrespectful and rude as she did not want to take anymore tables and basically told us we couldn't sit at those tables because 2 were hers. After being asked, are you going home? Are you cut? Because we wouldn't have minded waiting on a shift change if that was the case. We enjoy sitting at the high tops. A server named Jess came up to us at the outside bar, apologized for how rude they were and told us she was getting it cleaned off and she would serve us. We love to come and talk to our waitress and feel welcomed. No notepad thats a first. She took our drink orders. Felt like this was gonna be a waste of money and there was honestly a moment where I asked my girlfriend if she wanted to leave, we decided to stay because we already ordered the drinks upon getting my drink i polietly pointed out she gave me water instead of the Sprite I ordered she took it back. We went over the menu. I ordered the flatbread barbecue thing. I think my girlfriend ordered some wings or something. I don't remember. I also ordered a Philly cheesesteak which I did not know had a boat load of jalapeños in it. It wasn't listed on the menu as far as I can remember anyway food was terrible. The cheesesteak was like ground beef mixed with a crazy amount of peppers and it was way too hot could not enjoy it. Me and my girl enjoyed the flat bread somewhat but even that was subpar. Be very careful going to this Twin Peaks restaurant. They have a credit card fraud going on here. They charged me twice for the same visit. When I called them and asked to speak to their Manager, I was put on hold and no one picked up. After 15 minutes, I tried again and spoke to the Manager and gave him all the details of my check. He said he would clear it up and get back to me. He never did. Really check your bill and what ends up on you credit card statement if you visit there. Make sure to get some copy of your receipt so you have evidence to dispute it with your credit card company. The best thing to do is not visit there. read more

So for the start it didn't look good. We walked in and waited for a hot minute while the staff just chatted with each other before they even acknowledged that we were there. This was my first time at Twin Peeks. There's plenty of free parking. When you enter it has a bar vibe with this family style mix. The attire of the waitresses definitely doesn't give family, but that is the way the restaurant is so expect that if you plan to go. Our table was dirty and when the waitress finally came she asked why we were standing. We said the table was dirty. She asked if we wanted to sit at another table. I looked puzzled when she asked the question, and said to her that we didn't need to move and just for her to clean it. She just stood there looking clueless. So one of the persons I was with took our whips and cleaned it. Absolutely unacceptable that we had to clean our own table and the waitress didn't even think to clean it. For my meal I ordered a cheeseburger with pepper jack cheese. It came with fries. It took a much longer time than normal to get our orders out. She even came to the table to apologize for the long wait. When our orders finally came out my burger was cooked well, but it didn't really have flavor. They also didn't include pickles that it was supposed to come with. It also tasted like they forgot seasoning or mustard. However, the caramelized onions were good and the pepper jack cheese was melted well. The fries were good and seasoned. After my experience here, I know I won't be going back to this location. Stopped in to Twin peaks about 4pm on Saturday. My wife and three kids in tow. Noticed 4 girls standing at the hostess table. At least one on a cell phone but all of them oblivious to the world. After being acknowledged we asked to sit outside. We were told there were no tables available out of the front patio. However other than two other guests all the tables were open. They were however all covered with dishes and empty beer glasses. We were told the back patio was available. So we head to the back and go to sit down. There was trash everywhere. All over the floor and the audio for the baseball game was so loud you had to scream and the person next to you. So I asked if we could instead sit in the front patio and was told it would probably be at least 30-40 mins before somebody would make there way around to the front patio to buss the tables. She did say she could ask the manager to turn down the audio from the baseball game. I instead asked her to ask the manager to wipe off one of the multiple empty tables they had in the patio so we could sit down. After another ten min and walking to front to see the same four girls staring at cell phones and giggling to each other we left. Why do we need four hostesses? Why don't they put the phone away and clear a table and wipe it down? Where was the manager to manage the multiple employees doing nothing or here's an idea he could buss a table. They were not busy there was nobody else waiting to be seated. Bottom line... lazy employees, no quality management and no desire to take care of the customer. On Saturday August 2nd my wife and I joined another couple at the Twin peaks location in Shenandoah, Tx and I ordered the Tyrkey Avacado Smash Sandwich asking for it to be served without onions. This is a sandwhich I have enjoyed at 2 other Twin Oeaks locations here in Austin, Tx at least 3 times in the last couple of months. Upon delivery the sandsich looked "lacking" and before I could check it the waitress was off to flirt at other tables. By the time she returned the other couple had finished their meal and my wife was just about done with heres. I had taken one bite of the sand which immediately noticing that instead of Avacado Smash it was served with a relatively thin coating of a house spicy guacamole that not only totally changesd the flavor I was accustomed to, the guacamole had been made with diced onions that were very prevalent throughout the spread. I pointed this out to the waitress that did not really understand the difference between guacamole and Avacado smash and said I would not be eating it. It also seemed a bit sparse in the amount of turkey it had on it. Off she went to find her manager returning later to tell me it had been removed from the ticket. As she left the table with my credit card she must have overheard me commenting that I expected a manager would have come by to address it as well as possibly extend some offer to make the sandwhich per the menu description because before returning with my card a Manager showed up to ask what the problem was. In discussing what I thought was simply a kitchen mistake he clarified that it was not a mistake and that as a franchise , not a corporate owned store like here in Austin, they were entitled to make changes. In this case I pointed out that it seemed like changes that totally changed not only the presentation but the taste of a menu item they were doing the Twin Peeks Corp a tremendous disservice as quality is very often tied to a brand name. Evidently he disagreed with me saying that their customers enjoyed the sanwhich as served. It would behoove Twin Peeks Corporate to review their franchise agreement with their Houston area Franchisees in regards to quality and presentation as well as better train staff that could have warned me when I was ordering it without onions that it was served with guacamole MADE with onions as well. At least I did not have an allergy I would have had to deal with as a result. If you enjoy the atmosphere as well as the food quality of Twin Peaks in other areas you may want to pay attention to alternatives in the Houston area because you cannot rely on the menu item as described to be what you are served nor will there be any attempt to make offer a solution. The relatively uninformed waitress reflected the lack of quality and attitude of the Manager on Duty at the time. Not far away you can find a Bombshells as an alternative. read more
