We stopped by here on a Friday afternoon around 2:45pm. There were some people in the store, but it wasn't overly crowded. We were helped by Auggie and were just starting our stroller buying experience. Auggie was very knowledgeable with the different strollers and car seats. He asked us questions and helped guide us to different options that suited our needs. Overall our visit here was very helpful and we were impressed with the explanations and help we received! Based on our experience, I would recommend Twinkle Twinkle Little One to anyone who is looking for more information or to test a stroller in person. read more

James and the team at Twinkle Twinkle Little One were so immensely helpful in our choice of picking a stroller and carseat! Our first trip to the store was educational to say the least, we had some preconceived notions (based on internet research) of what we wanted and wanted to test it out. James quickly triaged the situation within a minute, and pointed us to some options that might be a better fit for our city-living, 3rd floor walkup lifestyle. We tried a handful of options, and came to the conclusion that without James' expertise, we would have easy spent a lot of money on a travel system that would made our lives difficult, and would have ultimately been a costly mistake. It was still early, so we went back home, did some more research, and then came back in a second time to try some more options, and purchase the travel system that we loved! At no point did the team at the store pressure us to buy any products, and were more than happy to spend time going through the options. A huge plus of buying your travel system is that the prices are the exact same to big box retailers, you are supporting a small business, and James does an incredible job of scheduling time for an instructional guide to the stroller/carseat and to install the carseat into our car - walking through it with us step-by-step. We were also informed that they would store the items for whenever you want to pickup, we picked up a month after purchase (closer to our due date), after purchase, and they held the items until install/pickup. We loved our experience here, and would highly recommend that you come here for your stroller/carseat needs/travel system needs - especially for the Type A moms & dads! This is one of the few places where you can actually test out higher end brands of baby gear, which was really helpful as I was shopping for a twin stroller and car seats and didn't know where to start. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and such a pleasure to work with. When I ordered my gear, I compared Twinkle Twinkle's prices to the manufacture's website and they were on par - no real markup. So I ordered from the store to support a local business and so that they could install the car seats for me (one less thing to set up as an expecting parent). The only downside is parking is limited, but that's a normal issue for this area. I highly recommend stopping by if you're expecting. read more

Inappropriate and unprofessional. My partner and I called this location Saturday morning to inquire if a particular stroller model was on the floor display to test out. We were assured that model was there in store. We drove an hour there and when arriving a male employee told us they did not have the model there in a tone that was flippant and rude. When my partner and I voiced our frustrations in a calm manner to him about the misinformation, he stated "Well I don't want to get beat up". We told him no one is beating him up and left the store. Just a heads up on anyone wanting to buy a piece that may be out of stock elsewhere. This company has confirmed they will never list an item they carry as "out of stock" you will be able to purchase anything even if they have no idea when they will be getting it back. I called to double check on a crib and they confirmed it will show ready to ship, but they don't have it nor do they know when will receive. So anything "out of stock" that you purchase as an "in stock" item, will then be unavailable and you will be sent an email notifying you. Then receive a refund weeks later. This was very frustrating to me, as I am trying to find something and it shows in stock. Especially more expensive items as waiting on a refund is no fun for anyone. So if you are like me and trying to furnish a babies room, watch out for this place! read more

Wonderful business. The staff at Twinkle Twinkle really cares. My wife and I will be new parents and it was easy to tell from the minute we walked into the store that the entire staff was happy to answer any questions we had about their products, show us all the product functionalities, and they put our baby's safety at the forefront while also having our sanity in mind as far as making our lives with a baby easier. Our most recent experience with Augie, James, and Cooper, was wonderful. They, along with Corey, were incredibly accommodating when we wanted to reschedule a product pickup and car seat installation with a tutorial. I was driving through Roscoe Village saw this children's store, which I've heard of but had never been to before, so I decided to stop in. I just planned to browse and see what the store was about, though I have been thinking lately that maybe I'd get a dress or two for my little one and if I saw something here that would be an added bonus. This store is very small and very very crowded. It actually surprised me a little since a fair percentage of the clientele will be pregnant women and multiple bellies might make it tricky navigating the packed store. They seemed to have quite a few strollers though I don't know how many brands (it may have just been Bugaboo and Uppababy but various models of each). I was pretty surprised and a little disappointed by how little clothing they had. It seemed like the vast majority of the merchandise was furniture, decorations, carseats, and so on. They did have some beautiful dresses but for much older children (I think the youngest I saw was 12 months), and they were pretty expensive--not to say I might not buy one for my little one because they really were quite lovely, but I'll wait until she's bigger and more likely to fit them. Staff seemed friendly enough. After wandering a few minutes one of the men who worked there asked if I was finding everything alright and when I checked out the woman who helped me was very warm. I will probably check their social media occasionally and might visit the Highland Park store at some point because that one might have a larger overall selection whilst this one may focus more heavily on decor and gear, most of which I have already. Parking is street only. I was able to find a parking spot with a fair bit of ease and both sides of the street offer free parking. read more

We purchased the bugaboo dragonfly based on the store employee' recommendation. We weren't sure if it would be sturdy enough over uneven sidewalks, but we were assured that it would be fine in Chicago. We were also debating between the fox. The sales rep said that you couldn't collapse the fox with the bassinet attached, but that is not true. Anyways, we have the dragonfly and we've been using it for two months and it is so incredibly bumpy. I posted on Lakeview mom's group to see what other people had done in terms of strollers for bumpy Chicago sidewalks and someone else had the exact same experience with buying by the dragonfly because of twinkle twinkle's recommendation and then selling it pretty quickly because it did not work well on Chicago streets. My husband and I stopped into to Twinkle Twinkle Little one to look at a stroller we were interested in. After looking around for a few minutes, a male sales associate approached us to offer some insight. I was rather disappointed with our conversation/interaction with him. He asked several (somewhat intrusive) questions about how many children we had/plan to have and how far apart in age we plan to have them. We told him that we were expecting our first child this summer, and he seemed put off and confused. After mentioning which stroller we were looking at, he was immediately discouraging of our choice and went on for several minutes as to why it wouldn't be a good selection. I don't believe he took a second to acknowledge or listen to our reasoning behind choosing this product we were interested in. I was expecting a much more positive, warm, and encouraging interaction with the staff there, and even more so upon them learning we are first time parents. Our conversation left us with an unfortunate impression. I think the same message could have easily been communicated with a much different approach. The store had very cute items, but was rather crowded with everything. I'd stop in to purchase a gift, but after that interaction I'd be skeptical to hear out staff's insight. read more

My name is Lindsay Picard(Silva) and I ordered a car seat in a specific color. Unfortunately it was discontinued by the manufacturer. Customer service let me know immediately that they did not have the car seat in that color and gave me the option to select a different one or cancel the order. I've had other companies just send the incorrect color and then I had to go through the trouble of returning the product. I saw a review by Yelp friend Dallas F. and bookmarked for future shopping. A baby shower was upcoming and I needed gifts, so an outing was upcoming. I am both an Uncle and a Godfather to many kids, so I've done my share of baby, toddler, kid etc shopping. The store is cute and approachable, much like a finer boutique should be. Cost is pricey. Sure there are other chain children shops you can go to. But.. when searching for a gift that is unlike everything else, which a baby is.. why should we clothe them in the same green top with a sailboat as Doris' kid? Naw.. My friend's background is Irish. I found this cute little top that looks like something an Elfen child would wear. Think LOTR elf. Green, Aran patterned like what is on a fisherman's sweater. Another reviewer had commented, "it's not like you can't find some of this stuff at other baby shops" this is true and not. Of course, anyone can shop online and find everything. But I would rather hold it in my hand & shake it to see it's durability, feel the texture and comfort, ponder the value a bit and then eventually cave and buy. Very upsetting experience. We ordered a glider with delivery fee, the store clerk promised to deliver the chair in one week window, and he said that they have it in the warehouse. After almost 10 days we called the store to ask about our order. The store did not know about it and replied that they would contact us next week. After the weekend we contacted the site again (already 2 weeks after we ordered and paid) to found out that they did not have chair at their warehouse and it will be delivered soon. The owner Rachel contacted me on email and offered to wait or refund. I was so mad. The whole reason of ordering from this store was about the availability of the item. The owner and the store workers failed to inform us that they don't have this chair, or properly inform us when it will be available. After few emails exchange we decided to wait until Friday , that we promised it will be delivered. Around 2-3 pm on Friday delivery service called to schedule the delivery for Monday. And my due date is Sunday. The delivery service dispatcher was rude and hung up on us when we asked if we can pick it up ourselves. At this point I was so frustrated that could not talk and start to cry. This experience was absolutely horrible. We called the store and talked with Corey to found out that they are not responsible for their delivery service either for their vendors. We wanted to support small businesses in Chicago that trying to survive but this store completely ruined me. I'm just glad that we did it order anything else from them. We eyed the stroller and crib, but decided to look elsewhere. UPDATE: It's crazy how Rachel is lying now. You did not offered similar item instead 1st of all. My voice mail is set up, and I never received any phone calls or texts. Further more, the delivery service informed us that they got the chair around 1:30 pm on Friday and their trucks already left the warehouse at 10 am in the morning. About the next Saturday delivery: only after my husband got into the conversation the delivery offered the Saturday. At this point we did not want to have anything with you or your business. If you are looking for a great baby gift try here first! My daughter's best friend who we have known since they were 3 and 4 years old had her first baby a couple of weeks ago. So of course we needed a really "Special" gift for this newborn. I went on line and looked for a higher end different baby store. Twinkle Twinkle Little One came up on Belmont. I checked out their website for Newborns and the items available were beyond my expectations. I quickly found quite a few things that caught my eye. I screen shot a few of the items and would head up to the store on Saturday morning hoping they would be there in the store. When I entered I was greeted by Rachel's husband and asked if I needed help. I explained that I checked out their website and needed the Sweet Soothie Taco Blanket. I showed him the screen shot and he asked Rachel if they had one and indeed they did. I was thrilled. I looked around and found taco bibs to go along with the theme. I also bought a pizza teething ring and a couple of books of course one about tacos and one about pizza. Both suggested by Rachel. All of which she put together for me in a pretty bag. I traveled up to the store from the south side of Chicago and was so pleased with the number of things in this store I could go broke with the options from stuffed toys, clothes, books, rattles, clothes, it just doesn't stop. I was on my way to a baby shower and had to buy the gift on my way, pretty par for the course for me, so I googled "baby stores near me" and found Twinkle Twinkle Little One by chance. I'm so glad I stopped in here! The woman was so incredibly nice, helpful and picked out the best gift within my budget. THEN wrapped It and enclosed the gift tag. Officially obsessed! And hopefully they like me too because I plan on spending most of my daughter-to-be's childhood shopping in this store. I decided on Serena & Lily bedding, however; my favorite part of the bedding was the bumper. And apparently bumpers are a huge safety hazard these days...who knew? The rest of the bedding just seemed kind of boring without the bumper, but Rachel (the fabulous owner of Twinkle Twinkle) had a solution to my problem! She suggested taking the pattern of the bumper that I loved so much and turning it into a custom made bedskirt. Sold! I won't see the finished product for another 8 weeks or so, but it looks like it's going to be the dream bedding I imagined. Rachel also helped me pick out a gorgeous chocolate brown glider that I just know is going to soon be my favorite place to hang out. We started looking at artwork today, but the hubby's attention span was starting to wan so I'm going to go back in a few weeks with my mom to pick out artwork and create a registry. Since they have tons of specialty items here this shouldn't be the sole place you register (Giggle and Buybuybaby should cover all the baby basics you need), but I'll definitely be coming here for unique and beautiful items to complete my nursery. Best customer service I've seen too! Rachel even offered to come over to my condo if I felt like she needed to see the actual space for the nursery. Her and her fabulous staff have also been known to go across town to search for the perfect fabrics or designs for their customers. I used to be a fan of Twinkle Twinkle, however today was a real eye opener for me. I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars in this shop over the past year, and came in today with a newborn blanket, which unfortunately remained folded, forgotten and unused for months. It had its tag on and ANYONE could see that it was completely untouched and brand new. When i discovered it earlier this morning, I immediately packed it up and drove to the shop wanting to exchange it in addition to buying a few more items. The lady at the counter said there was nothing she could do because I exceeded the return date (which apparently is only 30 days after purchase). I think what hurt me the most was the principle of the matter. I cannot begin to tell you how much i have spent in this store, not including the presents and gift vouchers my family have also purchased from Twinkle Twinkle, and they couldn't exchange a silly, brown $60 blanket? What I found most appalling was the manager of Twinkle Twinkle was listening to our conversation the entire time with her head down in her books and eyes permanently averted. I mentioned how sad I was, and gently reminded the store clerk that I have been such a loyal and devout customer since the first day I walked through their doors, and if they could please, please make an exception considering how much I have spent, and continue to spend. The salesclerk explained that it was company policy and that there was still nothing she could do. My mother owns a boutique store abroad and is the exclusive distributor of over 27 world renowned children's brands, and all I kept thinking about was she would never ever let a loyal customer, let alone any customer, walk out truly upset with the feeling as if they had wasted their money. I am still so hurt and truly disappointed with how this has ended. I will never step foot in this store again. read more

Very meh. Just dropped in a few months ago to see what they had in stock for babies. Cute things, but nothing you can't get cheaper every where else. They carry the same lines of chairs as Buy Buy Baby. We found the staff a bit rude. It's too bad, I think they're are such cute and adorable things out there but I didn't see anything here besides picture frames. Maybe worth a drive by, but I wouldn't go back. Side note: I just read another reviewer and I cringe for the owner. My day started off well enough before I happen to run across Twinkle Twinkle Little One. I was minding my own business strolling down Damen, when I looked up and saw the cutest little store. For children's items. Children which I do not personally own or possess. I do find that jobs and current friends bring me in contact with children quite frequently and they're just so cute that I love purchasing them things. This is when my day took a turn for the expensive. I walk in and its a frigging cute overload. They have amazing high end furniture, beautiful art, and custom made personalized items by various artists. There are also books that I had not seen in most book stores, items that are hard to find locally (e.g. a "Sleep Sheep"), and so much more if you take a moment to look around. I loved this store and have already told several people to go and check it out. I purchased a hilarious book today (more for myself than anything else, but I swear its a gift!) and have plans to go in and order a custom name plate for the child I used to nanny. PERFECTION in a baby store. Does it exist? Yes. Twinkle Twinkle Little One is that special boutique that you look for when the baby you are buying for is just too special for those icky chain stores! The whole store is packed with exquisite personal gifts that are unique and different. It is pricey but that's because you are looking at unique boutique items that you can't find just anywhere. The service you will get from Rachael the owner is beyond exceptional and the items she sells are not things you can find at say a Target store or even a chain baby retailer. This is as upscale as you can get for baby gifts, bedding, light fixtures and children's wall art. You can tell that everything she sells has been hand selected by her. Alot of the items she sells are custom made so they can take a week or two to come in. Dad's, there are some really great jewelry pieces here for mommy's. Not tacky either, for instance the last time I was there Rachael had on this gorgeous ring that looked like a black and white cameo but when you took a closer look it was actually a picture of her son. I purchased a custom designed blanket for my new beautiful niece, I got to look at some fabric swatches and Rachael helped me choose the the fabric to make it just perfect. This store might be great for friends and family looking for a personally chosen gift, especially for after the baby is born (lots of persoanlization options). But for pre-birth, it just isn't all that the reviews make it out to be. The photos make it seem like a huge store with lots of furniture options...not the case here. Horrible customer service! Horrible glider! I wish I never walked into this store! I ordered a glider that was super comfortable in the store, yet the one I received was completely different. It has zero support, looks and feels like I picked it up out of the alley. There is a beam that protrudes into my back making this chair unbearable to even sit in. Additionally the cushions of the chair don't even line up and feels uneven. I wouldn't order this chair even if it was free! When I tried to talk to Brittany, the store manager, she yelled at me in the store telling me there is nothing she could do about it because I signed a contract. Rachel the owner was nicer yet told me she wasn't sure what she could do about it. Neither of them gave me any hope that they would resolve the situation. I'm still stuck with this horrible chair which I can't even use because it is so uncomfortable! I am so disappointed with how this was handled. I truly feel scammed. read more

You need to shop here. Excellent customer service, beautiful selection and overall perfection. For all things pretty, fun and unique- this store is a dream whether buying for yourself/baby, your future baby or a gift. This store is literally my dream come true! It literally has such a brilliant selection of all things beautiful for baby. I could live here! The furniture is perfect (I bought the Ninna-Nanna Bassinet) Mostly, I cannot get over the assortment of everything they have. From perfect tiny sunglasses (isn't everything cuter when it's so tiny?) to the frilly skirts, headbands galore, unique jewelry for mom-to-be. The mobiles are seriously too cute. Yes is it pricey compared to other retail big-box baby stores? Obviously but you get what you pay for! (A bassinet that you don't cringe at and is cool enough to hang in the same room you and friends are.) i could go on and on..but I will stop and just say that if you need a gift for yourself, baby or someone that just had baby, GO HERE. Wish I shopped elsewhere! Purchased crib with toddler rail .we were told baby crib will be delivered in 4 weeks but it took 8weeks! Toddler rail was suppose to come in within week or two if paid for home delivery. It's been two weeks and we were not even given tracking # ( were told it will take 2 days) Very disappointed on quoted timeframes!
