Wonderful gluten free food and service. Even though I don't adhere to a GF diet, I do prefer to eat GF when possible. All items are openly labeled as far as gluten or dairy free. The gluten free bakery items are moist and tasty, unlike many other GF bakeries I have been to. All of the GF bakery items are really delicious. They also have some wonderful GF lunch and dinner items including chicken pot pie and meat loaf cupcakes. The pot pie is a little sweet for my taste, but other than that, I have enjoyed everything I have tried. The service is friendly and helpful too and always willing to answer all questions cheerfully. Ordered Pulled pork tacos with slaw & avocado cream(which I asked for on the side, cuz I don't like avocado.) Totally recommend it, pulled pork is nice, juicy, sweet, salty, spicy, cannot say enough good things about it. It also came w/ chips & a pickle. Now, lets get to the baked goods. Twisty cakes, cupcakes, pumpkin bread, whoopie pies, muffins, cake pops & cookies are all very good, although they are a bit expensive(cupcakes range from 2.50-3.00 each,) but it's still very delicious. Our favorite place to stop by. My daughter is gluten and dairy free. The rest of our family is not. Everybody agrees, the baked goods here are phenomenal. You would never know they are gluten-free. Twist Bakery is a niche bakery specializing in gluten-free and common allergen-free ingredients in high quality bakery items and light lunch options. The staff is trained to be very knowledgeable about the ingredients in each of their products and they are thoughtfully arranged in the case and marked appropriately for vegan or products with dairy or coconut, etc. My friend has autoimmune issues made worse by foods and got some items - cinnamon rolls and banana and choc chip muffins - for Easter for us as I, too, have food-based sensitivities. She lives in Burlington and when we hang out, I get stuff from here for her and her husband. The baked goods are sooo tasty and not just tasty for being gluten- and allergen-free (gluten-free baked items can be dried out and dense and beyond disgusting). Some items I bought for my friend and myself the last few times I went there: banana and choc chip muffins, white cake with frosting, cake pops, whoppie pies, cupcakes, coconut and chocolate bar and eggs, bacon and avocado toast for breakfast for me. The food is GREAT, the staff is friendly and attentive, the shop is cute and inviting.. The prices aren't cheap but the quality is very good. read more

For gluten free, this place is excellent. Both bakery with nice breads and you can have sit down breakfast or lunch after ordering from the counter. I don't need to eat gf, but get things for a relative and would happily eat it myself. Sandwich bread has a nice texture. read more

I think this is a great thing to have a gluten free bakery with sandwiches. my one issue that I had with this place was they had a chicken stew. I ordered that and well it was more like chicken soup. Stews are thick and hearty and soup is watery. I instead got the chicken salad and it was really good. Ill be back to get the chicken salad! read more

I grew up in Millis and I stopped into Twist for the first time on a recent trip back to MA from my new home in New Jersey. Since I work in a bakery, I was interested to hear what they did with their leftovers after closing, just out of curiosity. The owner was actually there and was very open about telling me what he did and didn't resell the next day. The woman who helped me told me about the bakery being gluten-free which was pretty cool too, even though I'm not gluten-free. I bought a lemon bar and shared it with my mom. It had a weird, faint texture and after-taste to it, which I assume was because it was gluten free or maybe they use a lemon substitute, but was gooey and moist and very lemony, so overall, it wasn't bad. I'd go back to try one of the things on their lunch menu one day, maybe. read more

I just moved to Millis and was SO happy to find a gluten-free bakery. The coffee was slightly better than average and the egg and bacon sandwich on their gluten-free baguette was TO DIE FOR!!!! The baguette did not taste gluten-free (diff texture, diff taste). It was excellent and I will be a frequent customer! read more

Consistently terrible food here and the $2 extra they charge for their disgusting crumbly bread is not worth it. And I mean... $2 extra just to have your sandwich on a piece of bread instead of a roll? That's ridiculous! So disappointed in this place. Have been meaning to check out Twist for a while now and finally got over there. I'm about 20 minutes away, and it was definitely worth the trip, and I'll happily go again and soon. From the name, I assumed it would be more bakery, but they have a complete and delicious lunch menu. Plus a bunch of weekend specials, I had the fritata meal and it was lovely - salad and fruit on the side. Candied pecans came served in a stand alone cup (for the nut-allergy folk). Kids had a caprese sandwich, husband had pulled pork tacos. Everything was fresh and delicious and well priced. I'd happily play $6-8 for a wonderfully made and tasty lunch. Finished up with mini-cupcakes, which were also totally delicious, but expensive. 4 mini cupcakes rang up as $9, which seems expensive, but I guess for gluten-free, not out of the market range. So I have yet to actually eat in Twist, but my mother brings me treats from here since she recently found out it was gluten free. I have had the whoopie pies and brownie. So good! I tend to notice GF treats to be very crumbly (if that makes sense) but the brownie was dense and slightly chewy jand did not crumble in my hands as I tried to bite into it. It is so difficult to find gluten, dairy and nut-free cinnamon rolls, but that's what I miss the most. I'm eating the little $1 rolls at Twist right now and they are fantastic - ooey-gooey and full of cinnamon. Also of note are the courteous and friendly staff. So glad I stopped by! read more

Place is heaven for people with celiac disease. No gluten allowed! Haha. They serve nothing with gluten! Get breakfast sandwiches and lunch whenever we have time. Have gotten the chicken pot pie, lasagna, and buffalo chicken to go for dinner and they were all AMAZING. Desserts are to die for. I have had celiac for 6 years and I am I'm so happy this place is close to me. My boyfriend doesn't need to eat gluten free but asks if we can go there all the time. I found this place when searching for a good gluten free breakfast place... although I have only eaten breakfast there once- there is so many things to keep coming back for. I mainly go for lunch now... every sandwich I've tried has been good. I am addicted to their sandwich rolls and always leave with a bag for home. Their baked goods are awesome- and constantly changing assortment. You'd never know they were gluten free. I've liked everything i've tried so far with the exception of their buffalo chicken cutlets (they don't quite taste like buffalo, more of a sweet taste). All in all I would recommend to anyone in the area. read more

Visiting area and food allergic daughter was extremely excited to have a safe breakfast option. Completely my fault that I forgot to check about pea protein in addition to her other allergies. When we inquired after it was already prepared they bent over backwards to get her something safe without hesitating. They had incredibly detailed book of all safe items for her, owner came out personally and talked to her about what she wanted. Just incredibly wonderful people and food was fantastic. Thank you Twist for making such a delicious and beautiful cake for my wedding! We chose the lemon-raspberry cake, which was wonderfully flavorful. Everyone was surprised to learn it was gluten-free--some guests said it was the best wedding cake they'd ever had! It looked gorgeous too. I showed them pictures of cakes that I liked and explained how I wanted it to look, and they decorated the cake exactly the way I wanted. Twist was great to work with all around. read more

Twist is the BEST gluten-free bakery I have tried in New England and NYC. I have been to 4 gluten-free bakeries and this one takes the cake, quite literally. If you need to eat gluten-free, it is better than a lot of gluten-full bakeries I have been to. Yelp, please don't delete the positive part of this comment. I reviewed Twist before on Yelp and I give it 5 stars. I am dismayed that Yelp removed my genuine review along with several other reviews. Their software algorithm must have thought my review was self-promotion by Twist. It was NOT. I am disappointed that my review (my first ever on any website) was removed.
