Tried it once years ago. The waitress (who turned out to be the owner) was really rude to me. I had never been there and she was impatient and almost bothered by my questions. I never went back until last month with a friend who was visiting from California. She has Celiac so I decided to try it again. Wow! Everyone was so rude and inattentive. Still! Okay...so the owner always replies "this is so surprising to me." Really? Still? After all the people who leave that on their review? Yes...you ARE expensive! Oh and YES the staff is rude! The food is good and my friend loved the roll her sandwich came on but I was SO embarrassed!!!! I kept apologizing to her for the wait and the staff! I would rather cook at home from the gluten free section at the store and save myself the abuse. I am not sure why this place is succeeding because frankly don't think they deserve it? Unbelievable that everything is gluten free. They have the best vanilla cupcakes I've ever had. I'm obsessed with their ice chai tea lattes with coconut milk and their breakfast sandwiches with REAL eggs. Don't get me started on their grilled cheeses. Everything about this place is awesome. They have consistently struggled to get reliable employees with good customer service. Customer Service is subpar at best and hard to get in touch with over the phone lately. I almost cried when I heard there was a Gluten Free Bakery in the next town over. I got diagnosed with Celiac Disease in January. I tried a pineapple/coconut muffin, whoopie pie and Boston Creme cupcake. All were fresh, moist and delicious. I also purchased a vegetable frittata which I will eat for breakfast tomorrow. The staff were very friendly and informative. I will be back often. I can not wait to try the sandwiches Twist has a nice selection. All the Gluten free breads I have found in the supermarkets have been awful so I am looking forward to Twists selection. I give Twist two BIG Thumbs Ups! read more

Food here is great and I love all of the options available to me (I have IBS and can't have lactose or gluten) and my husband (who is allergic to wheat). The bread used for sandwiches is so good, but SO expensive to buy on its own ($12 for a loaf!!). I like to come on the weekends for their sandwiches, creme brulee oatmeal (OMG so amazing), and pastries. Would be a 5 star rating if the staff here was actually knowledgeable about the food they're serving. On a couple visits, I've tried to ask if certain items contain dairy and no one behind the counter knew the answer. They had to go back into the kitchen to check. Seems ironic to me given that the whole concept of the place revolves around serving people with allergies and intolerances. read more

What a wonderful find! A gluten-free bakery that feels like a wonderful traditional bakery! We went for lunch and enjoyed the lunch offerings. My chicken salad with grapes came on a soft bulky roll that was light and fluffy. The chicken salad was tasty and my side of fruit was ripe blueberries and strawberries. The dessert case looked tempting - so many lovely tarts and cupcakes! - and so I look forward to returning and to trying the sweet treats. I give the food 5 stars. It is outstanding. The problem is that the service is incredibly slow. Recently I was the only customer and it took 15 minutes for two packages of rolls and 8 cake pops. The employees talk a lot to each other, agonize over the placement of the Twist sticker on every package and move very, very slowly. Several friends and I have stopped going because we do not have the time to spend waiting. I am hoping with their upcoming expansion that they move to a "Panera style" ordering system, which would help speed things up. read more

I will give them the fact that the cole slaw was good. By the way, if you are putting a window that looks into the kitchen, you may not want the customers seeing that you microwave everything. And I'll add the quality of the food is better at Roche Bros. also Additionally, while I was there a couple complained about their food and how small the portion was. We've had their baked goods at parties before but today we decided to make a trek to try the cafe. It's a holiday and they were pretty crowded but we landed a table. Got grilled cheese for the kids, fancy grilled cheese (bacon & marmalade today) and a meatball panini for the adults. Food came out fast, especially considering how slammed they were. It was good! Things are a little expensive here but I chalk it up to the surcharge you always pay for gluten free food. Someone at the next table had a salad that looked really good; I'm not usually this nosy I promise. We'd come back again, maybe on a non-holiday but definitely sometime. read more

A very big thank you to all of you at Twist. I just recently had a loss in my family. Friends went to Twist and brought us food and we didn't have to cook for days! It was all delicious! We had to do a "funeral/reception" at my home and it was New Years Eve Day and obviously Twist was no longer taking orders. When they heard the situation they quickly got the chef and told me what they could make for us. The chef went in early so that we could have hot food! We had 40 friends and family and they said everything was delicious!! Couldn't tell it was gluten free! Twist went way above normal business expectations and we couldn't be more grateful for their help in a sad time for us. We look forward to our Friday morning breakfast with them. There aren't many all Gluten Free bakeries or restaurants around so when you find one you can only hope it's so good that they stay in business for a long time. Went there with my wife and 2 of my 3 kids. In our family 3 of us are Celiac, all of us are 100% gluten free. Twist is a real treat. We stopped by for lunch; the sandwiches are served on a GF roll that is the best GF bread I've ever eaten. The cookies, brownies and whoopie pies are outstanding. The owner was like a water vendor at the edge of the desert: tell me what you're in the mood for and I will make it. All GF!! I can't recommend Twist enough. My family and I have been coming to twist since it opened my mother has celiac and has been searching for places like this since she was diagnosed. They used to have some of the best food in the area but recently when we've come in all of us have gotten sick from their food. My mom says there's only a handful of things on their menu that don't make her sick. We've since then stopped coming here for lunch but will stop in for sweet treats occasionally. Ordered light roast coffe which tasted like burned 3 hour old Starbucks mud, muffins were the size of a kiddie cupcake at best and looked pretty but no taste, just kind of spongy mush. No drink trays for take-out customers and the coffee was almost scolding hot (wtf?) This place is trying too hard to be an upscale "kaffee haus" and should focus on just giving people good coffe, good food in sizable portions and keep the prices reasonable. First, I'd like to say that I do appreciate the idea of an allergy-friendly cafe. I think it's a wonderful idea. I think that, executed the right way, it could be something amazing; however, I don't think that Twist has the exact right idea. They are focused more on their appearance and social standing than the actual food. The made-to-order food is not very good. I can say from personal experience that the girls in the front keep the older foods in front of the display case and refill everything from the back. So if you get a baked good from close to the glass in the display case, you really have no way to tell how old it is. They made me put moldy strawberries on top of the Summer Strawberry cupcakes. They are aiming to be an upscale bakery/cafe, but the high-school-aged-staff and mediocre service detract from that image. Good idea, but definitely falls short. read more

So, I had ordered a 6 inch cake for my daughters birthday, the instructions that I gave the employees was to write my daughter name on it with happy birthday, but i received the cake with just number 11. no name not greeting. I dont have a problem with the product, but the owner and the manager blamed me for misunderstanding she was very rude and didn't accept her mistake. I ruined our day since it my daughter birthday today and I am at work. we have a $45 cake which is 6 inches with no "Happy Birthday" No "Name". 0 for customoer service. Really like this place. All the food is awesome and then for chatting with the owner - he stated it was also gluten free. I would never have guessed because it was excellent in its own right. The lemon squares are terrific, the coffee reminded us of Costa Rica (ie really good) and their veggie empanadas were unique but had a beautifully crafted mix of flavors. This place was great!!! The food was delicious, decent price for gluten free, and the owners are exceptionally friendly. I hope this place does well. The rolls were moist and yummy. Sandwiches with sides had great, interesting flavors. I actually like the fact that they don't shout at the roof top that all their stuff is gluten free. Many customers wouldn't go in if they though the food was "different". They've proved that gluten free food is normal and enjoyable by all. Stopped into Twist this weekend for the first. Very glad I did! This area has been begging for a bakery/cafe like this. Twist is a gluten free bakery that really delivers. They had a whole bunch of really tasty looking treats and prepared meals in the display case. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and a few pastries. Their breakfast sandwiches are served on what is sort of a "biscuit-meets-bulkie" roll. So soft, buttery and fresh! The egg, cheddar and ham sandwich is something I will be craving! The coffee cake muffin and mini cinnamon buns were outstanding! The bakery show stopper for me was the apricot-honey scone. My goodness was that delicious! Great coffee and great service. Totally recommend it, pulled pork is nice, juicy, sweet, salty, spicy, cannot say enough good things about it. It also came w/ chips & a pickle. Now, lets get to the baked goods. Twisty cakes, cupcakes, pumpkin bread, whoopie pies, muffins, cake pops & cookies are all very good, although they are a bit expensive(cupcakes range from 2.50-3.00 each,) but it's still very delicious. Our favorite place to stop by. My daughter is gluten and dairy free. The rest of our family is not. Everybody agrees, the baked goods here are phenomenal. You would never know they are gluten-free.
