Updated Review: A much better experience at Twisted. The customer service was very good and of course the pretzels were delicious. Prices are reasonable for a city pretzel vendor. Overall a good experience and I will visit again when at the Wharf. Previous Review: August 28, 2022 CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE: I visited this pretzel shop at 6:24pm on Sunday, August 28th, 2022 and encountered a male employee at the service window who proceeded to ask how he could help me. When I informed him I wanted to purchase a salted pretzel he proceeded to tell me that there were no pretzels and that they were closed. He then said they had recently closed for the night a few minutes prior to my arrival and that they were only selling soft drinks. Considering the restaurant doesn't close until 7pm and the fact the employee's statement regarding operating status was so ambiguous, I asked a clarifying question, "are you closed or is it that you simply don't have anymore pretzels?" In my mind if a business says they're closed that means they are closed for business and not selling anything. He responded in a very disrespectful tone by saying "we're not open, that is what closed means." At that point I disengaged and simply asked him for his name. He informed me his name was Josiah. I'm not putting too much interest into whether or not that was really his name because he hesitated for a moment when I asked him. Normally that is an indication that someone just gave you the wrong name. To wrap up, having not purchased anything on this visit really is disappointing considering this was my first experience ever with this business. One in which the customer service was far from appropriate. Businesses can separate themselves from the pack in the area of customer service by how they treat potential customers when no sales transaction occurs. Whoever manned the service window on this day could benefit from additional coaching and mentoring in basic customer service. read more

If you're looking for a quick bite at the Wharf for cheap, Twisted at the Wharf is the place to go. The food isn't spectacular, but will satisfy your cravings. I got a salty pretzel with cheese dip. The pretzel was soft and hot, but it was a bit too...salty. the cheese dip wasn't very flavorful. However, the service was great and I appreciate how they support a good cause, so they get extra points for that. read more

Finally tried Twisted after living here for a while, and really no complaints! I got the original pretzel with cheese sauce, and the chili cheese dog with no onion. Pleasantly surprised at how large the pretzel was and how filling the hotdog was. I didn't even finish the pretzel and I consider myself having an appetite. Pretzel was hot and the salt crystals added crunchy texture which I enjoy on a soft pretzel- and also they give enough cheese sauce for the pretzel! The chili cheese dog was tasty but I like a little spice in my chili. If they offered jalapeños with it, it would be so improved. Wait time wasn't long at all, they told me 8 min wait for a fresh pretzel but order was ready much faster. Good place and would come again, especially for the price. read more

The pretzel is a little bit raw in the inside which makes it soft and chewy, but the salt overpowers the whole meal making it hard to enjoy. The cheese sauce has no flavor, and the icees were watery. I ran into this little place why getting some crabs. I was starving and we still had a ways home to cook our crabs. The service was great and My cashier was very friendly. Our half smokes had a nice snap to it just lacked a little flavor. The chilly cheese and onion helped out a lot. The bun was a pretzel bun. I wasn't expecting that it was a pleasant surprise. It was a great combination. I would return I saw someone eating a sandwich at a table and that look pretty good. I'll try that next time. One last thing. There are no soda's here only slushes, tea, and lemonade. read more

I was craving auntie Anne's and ran into this store. I originally thought it was going to be stand but it's actually a store with outdoor seating. It's located on the wharf near where all the seafood is, closer to shake shack/officina. They offer a free dip with each pretzel, which i love! However, it is not auntie Anne's! I don't know, my pretzel was just kind of dry, you definitely need the dip for sure. It seemed like my pretzel was just a regular salted pretzel and they threw cinnamon sugar on top. I also wish they had more options for pretzels and offered bites for the cinnamon sugar, so it's less messy as we are exploring the wharf. This place has a very limited menu - like basically 3 things. When you only have 3 things in your menu, you'd better do them well...spoiler alert: they did not. We ordered a salted pretzel and a hot dog on a pretzel bun. The salted pretzel was not good at all. It tasted like one of those pretzels you get in the freezer section at the grocery store. I had high hopes due to the location and the price ($8 for a pretzel!) but was disappointed. The pretzel hot dog was very mediocre. I think the only reason this place stays in business is that tourists visit it once because I can't imagine anyone coming back here for another pretzel. We decided to come here because of the shortest and fastest line to order! It was a busy weekend with cherry blossoms fully blooming. I ordered half smoke on pretzel bun and lemonade. Lemonade tasted like store bought lemonade. Nothing impressive. The half smoke itself was very good but I was not impressed by the pretzel bun - Isn't this their specialty? You have to go here! Twisted at the Wharf just opened next to the Fish markets in SW -- very near where I live. I was bike riding with friends when we saw it -- and of course they have chili dogs and half smokes, sammies, subs, etc. Since I love, love, love a half smoke with the works after laps at Hains Point, we had to stop. OMG, so good. Really an amazing half smoke. We also had a pretzel, which was good, but the loaded half smoke was over the moon. A big PLUS is that they hire folks with intellectual and developmental disabilities to help train them for a job which is just so great. And our service was outstanding. They share their profits with the I/DD community as well. Just all-around very nice people. So there you have it. Good for the taste buds, good for the soul and easy on the wallet. What more could you ask for? One note. Like many places at the wharf, they don't take cash, so be sure to have a card, etc. read more

Fantastic pop-up in the Wharf. Make sure to stop here for a pretzel on your way into the fish market. What sets this store apart is the commitment to employing and supporting community members with disabilities. The pretzels are simply the icing on the cake. Terrific addition to the Wharf offering quick, affordable pretzels and hot dogs. My sea salt pretzel was warm, delicious, and came with a free dip which was a pleasant surprise. Staff were friendly and helpful and I enjoyed learning about the positive company mission. I'm a big pretzel fan. I never met a pretzel I didn't like or couldn't be enhanced by any dipping sauce or mustard. I came this past Father's Day weekend as I waited for our crabs to be cooked and picked up a snack and drink (original with sea salt) with brown mustard and a blueberry raspberry slushie (which was all they had) for $11.45 (including tax). I believe I could've got better at 7-11 for under $5 at best. The large size slushie is at best a next size up of a kid's size slurpee and they only had one flavor at the time and it was more juice than slushie. The flavor was more syrup and sugar than blue raspberry. The pretzel had no taste in its body whatsoever. The brown mustard couldn't even save it. I tossed it in the trash after trying to salvage half of it for the price I paid. I even love the movie theater frozen pretzels and again, for me to throw it in the trash is well, trash. read more

This place does not follow COVID safe protocols. We ordered two pretzels and thought they were safe because one person was taking orders and another fixing food. The lady fixing food asked the man taking orders to assist her. He then touched our food directly without changing gloves. He touched the food, not a container it utensils. The pretzels.
