Family got back on the escape room wagon and hit up 3 rooms in Lancaster today. Black Rose at Twisted Exit was our first stop and it was a great experience. The GM got us signed in quickly and went over everything we needed to know heading in. She was very personable and friendly and got us started a bit early so we could head to our other rooms after. The room itself was great, it was well decorated and had some interesting and unique puzzles. It's a difficult room and we slipped out with a mere 5 minutes remaining. They do use the older style clue system of a walkie talkie but the GM was very attentive and responded to us right away if we asked for help with anything. It was a great experience and we'd gladly return for more rooms in the future. read more

I'd give this place a 4.5/5! This was a great place for a group activity in Lancaster! I recently did the pirate themed escape room with a group of friends for a birthday and we had a blast! We have done escape rooms before at other places and this overall held up well! The only complaint we really had was that it was veryyyyyy lock heavy. The second room relied on many locks (some combination, some needing keys) and we would have liked a bit more variety in those parts of the room. Plus, some of the combination locks were a bit finnicky, where it took several passes of the right combination for it to actually unlock. But with that said, there was still a lot of stuff that was great about the escape room and we would definitely come back! Highly recommend for a fun little activity with friends or family! read more

This Escape room was honestly so fun, We went for my friends 21st Birthday and it was her first escape room. She absolutely loved it and was very surprised we escaped with 15 minutes left! She immediately wanted to book the other room once we were out. I brought my best friend here for her birthday with 3 others and we all had a great time! Our host was so kind also and provided us with clues throughout as needed! Every aspect of this room is amazing and enjoyable! My group did the Captive room here, and we loved it. We are all teens; two of us have done several escape rooms before this, while this was our third member's second room. You don't need to be escape room savvy to enjoy or escape this. Teamwork and observation are vital. The room was intricate and very well set up according to its theme, the Jigsaw movie series. We were clue-heavy and used 6+. We escaped in 61 minutes -- 1 minute over our given time! Our host was amazing! She thoroughly guided and assisted us without giving too much of our next step away. She was interactive and social and got us hyped up before we began. She allowed many photos and put up with our many props and poses. There was a technical difficulty that was smoothly fixed and handled and we continued as if it never happened. I definitely recommend The Apartment room at their second location, Greatest Escape, although it is on the much much scarier side. 5 stars all the way! read more

So I went to the escape room in Lancaster last night. It's called Twisted Exit. The level of detail and sophistication to some of the puzzles was amazing. This is not some fly-by-night operation. The experience was so awesome. My 12 year old daughter could not stop talking about it. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be, and a bit difficult with only two people. It is something I would definitely recommend everyone that lives nearby to go check it out. It's perfect for date night, a group of friends getting together after dinner, something the whole family can do, teambuilding at work, etc. It's located in the Lancaster Marketplace (old outlet mall). For my friends that live in the San Fernando valley. It's only about 45 minutes north of you. And there is an excellent Italian restaurant right next-door. Come on up and try it out. read more

These are the same owners as the other escape room in the AV (greatest escape) so know that you're going to get great rooms, fun and challenging puzzles and huge surprises. We did the jigsaw themed room and black rose. Challenging rooms but when you really put your mind to it and get on a roll, the clues come flowing in! They gave us a sneak peek of the new room they're building and MAN DOES IT LOOK AWESOME!!! I can't wait for them to open it so I can give it a try. First time in an escape room and it was all worth it. I was kind of skeptical as to whether it would be as fun as everyone says it is, but we got more then expected. At first I thought we wouldn't be able to complete and escape, which we didn't but we made it to the last clue which is better then expected. Especially for the first time. Second, I didn't think the kids would work well with one another but I was wrong. Then I thought that being crammed in a room with three kids that fight all day at home would be too long for me to handle but I was wrong again. The time went so fast and left us wanting more. The staff was great, the room (Black Rose ) was great, the kids were excited and worked well with each other, and our overall experience was great . We had such a good time last night in the Jigsaw room. I almost gave up on this place because it was just too hard for my kids to be involved. Then in hit me.. leave the damn kids at home and go enjoy it with the adults. We barley escaped with about -3 seconds on the clock! The hosts were very cool! They really took the time to make these room enjoyable. The crazy obstacles they come up with will blow your mind. I dont know if you guys get a lot of families with kids but i noticed youve been expanding. Maybe make just one room at one of your locations easier for 10-16 year olds. Work their way up to Jigsaw and Black Rose.. I think youd make a killing after they went and told all their friends how much fun it is. read more

My cousin loves coming here and I couldn't wait to do my first Twisted Exit as this would be my first time. It's very organized and we were taken to our room right away and put with another group. It was so much fun!!!! We didn't escape but we had a great time figuring out the clues and working together. This is definitely a great bonding and team building exercise and I highly recommend the pirate room and all the other escapes they offer. So far, my group has done the Black Rose and the Saw room. Both rooms were excellent. I would highly recommend the saw room if you are a fan of the movie series or just like a darker themed room. The technology incorporated with the puzzle system was awesome (and it worked unlike other rooms)! I believe our group had the record for the Black Rose. This one is more fun if you just like a more adventurous room. Getting some of the clues were very unique than the traditional scavenger hunt (although it did have some hunting). The puzzles were more genius in the Black Rose room so if you want some mind blowing 'wow' moments, the Black Rose is the way to go. If you prefer high-tech, more gruesome puzzles, or just love the Saw movies, Saw room is the way to go. Nothing bad to say about either room. read more

I thought it was a good room with good puzzles but I really disliked the fact that I was put in a party with strangers. I paid for a party of three, expecting it to be a fun experience for my family and I, only to be lumped in with another group. There was nothing posted on their website saying that if you have a party under a certain number you would get grouped in with strangers. If I am paying $75 dollars, I should be able to have the room for me and my party. Or at least give me the option to pay a little extra so I don't have to get out with random people. When you are grouped with random strangers, you have no idea if you are going to get along but either way, I really disliked that. Very, very annoying. read more

This was our very first escape room and we had an amazing time! We tried our hand at the "Black Rose," we didn't make it out in time but still had a lot of fun. Took a group of 20 here for my daughters birthday. We had a blast. We had to rent out the 2 bigger rooms and split into teams and it was all so worth it. The teenagers had fun and you get a mental workout. The facility is clean and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. They give you very clear instrctions and let you have at it. I thought it was going to be strategic so I thought I had it in the bag, but nope! You have an hour to (hopefully) complete the room which we didn't. Thought we would give it a try. Was not impressed. Lacks luster..in a place like this, don't have construction or remodel in progress. When taken to lounge for instructions, they lacked there as well. No one mentioned you are given 3 clues with communication via a walkie-talkie. In our party if 4, not one of us heard we could have 3 clues, though the establishment insisted they did. The lounge instruction was off beat and they should have someone comfortable speaking and able to fully describe the experience you are about to embark on. With that said, the rooms lack realism and are too bare to lend a proactive effect. The Black Rose lacked severely in remote Pirate Show. For $25 a person, you would think at the end of the venture when staff takes your group photo, you at least get a printed copy. Nope. They tell you they will post it on Facebook. Truly not worth $$$$ read more
