Papardelle noodles with shrimp and pesto
    Jill M.

We were so excited to try this place for a business meeting, easily accessible, great location and it replaced our beloved Main Street Pizza, so we had high hopes! We ordered the fried gnocchi bites for an appetizer, wow! I could eat these creamy but slightly crunchy things everyday! They serve it with their vodka sauce which is absolutely delicious. My husband wanted to order the dumpling dish, they were out and then wanted the ravioli, but they were out of that too. He decided on the pappardelle noodles with tomato sauce, he loved it. I ordered the pappardelle noodles with shrimp and pesto, the shrimp was cooked to perfection, the noodles however were too thick. They needed to be ran through the pasta maker a few more times maybe, I was looking for a thinner, more refined noodle. I had to cut it like steak, was looking for that twisted fork experience. But the pesto flavor was super yummy. My sister ordered the soba noodles dish with pan seared tofu. I tried it and the dish was not cohesive. One part was super salty when another bite had no flavor. The tofu was just lukewarm with soft texture , we were looking for the pan seared, crunchy edges. The noodles were broken up in small pieces, not long noodles, the twisted fork experience was not found here either. The fried asparagus that came with it was a hit though! We ordered matcha tiramisu, it was good, the texture was spot on but not too sweet. We also got the crème brûlée and it was kinda soupy-ish and not super crunchy on top, like it had been made earlier in the day. I've had crème brulee so many times in my life and this just missed the mark. During the whole meeting, ice was being dumped into the machine, which is fine, not a problem bc they are working, but the sound was so loud it's insane, we couldn't hear ourselves talk, even the waitress was startled and looked at us, like, sorry! It happened throughout our entire meal. Like I said, it's fine, but it interrupts the dining experience I think this place is going for. The ambience is plain, I would never know it was Japanese-Italian fusion. It needs some flare to help build that atmosphere. But the music, yall ... whoever is choosing it has great taste in music! Loved all the songs that were playing! Our adorable waitress was so accommodating and sweet. Attentive and timely. Long black hair, with rubberband type hairstyle (I say that bc I forget her name and want her to know if she's reading this, you were fantastic, we would come back for you!) I don't say any of this to bash but only to help. We want to see this place kill it and survive! We are rooting for you! I just think there's a few things that need tweaking, I don't claim to know how to run a restaraunt, but I've been to countless ones across the US, this one has such great potential, it's just not quite hitting it yet but we believe in you guys!!!

You'd think if all they do is noodles with sauce, it would need to be great. It's not.

Everyone at our table received their food in a timely manner--except me. I ordered the hamachi kama and was told it would take about 20 minutes to bake, which I was completely fine with. However, after waiting... and waiting... and watching my entire family finish their meals, we were then told my order had been messed up because the restaurant got backed up and busy and would take another 10-15 minutes. At that point, nearly everyone was done eating, so I asked for my meal to be boxed to-go. We spoke with a manager, Chris, who apologized and told us the meal would be comped--which felt like an appropriate resolution given the situation. But after sitting there for almost TWO HOURS total, my husband and son went to follow up, only to be told that my order had been completely canceled. The reasoning? That they "weren't going to comp something and let you walk out with free food." That response was honestly shocking. I never asked for anything extra--just the meal I ordered, even if it had to be to-go at that point. Instead, I left without eating at all. The lack of communication, the excessive wait, and the way the situation was handled at the end completely ruined what was supposed to be a celebratory night. Really disappointing experience. We didn't even want to order the desserts we planned on ordering because at that point, they didn't deserve another dollar. The environment would've been enjoyable if we weren't focused on food missing and the lack of customer service.

The restaurant was not busy at this time - a few patrons at the bar and a few tables occupied. We were sat, greeted and served quickly. Upstairs featured seating near floor to ceiling windows which created a fun ambiance. There were a lot of wooden details in the decor that really made the place pop and feel more fun. The food was good. I really enjoyed the fish tacos and all the flavors in the toppings. It was also nice to see salmon tacos versus a fried white fish or tilapia. The house made queso is good goooood!! My daughter and I really enjoyed it. Their menu was so big between Asian and Mexican dishes it was a bit overwhelming. I think I would try another restaurant if in the area again but I lived close by I would probably come again.
