Went to Twisted Gingers last night for a few beers and pizzas and it was great as always! They have the smallest commercial kitchen in Philly but the pizza is always amazing!

Glad I tried the alcoholic ginger beer - awesome!

I coached a few HS basketball games at the prestigious Philly Live tournament on a Saturday morning, and was looking for a spot around Jefferson to grab a good brew and a little lunch. Used Yelp and Untappd to find Twisted Gingers, and I'm very glad I did. The perfect definition of a neighborhood brewery - the corner spot of a traditional Philly rowhouse designed into a model of the beer can itself. Very unique. Street parking all throughout the neighborhood, and the service - both bartending and pizza making - were outstanding. I tried a few of their offerings, and enjoyed everything. The twisted sombrero pizza was on special, and was handmade when I ordered it and was delicious. I took a recommendation and enjoyed the boozy ginger beer, and snagged a four of their honey milkshake IPA to go. Great spot, very of the neighborhood, friendly service, yummy pizza, good brews! Excited to get to check it out again!

Such a great neighbourhood spot that I took forever to discover ! Really great place to hang out and get pizza and brews. We went early enough to beat the crowds on a Thursday, John and Mark took great care of us, the ginger beer was on point and the pizza was so delicious! Definitely is on repeat list!

My sister sister was looking for somewhere that hosted Monday night trivia, and I'm on a quest to visit all the breweries in the area, so here we are. Trivia starts at 630. We rolled in at 615 and grabbed the last table. It's a small brewery so make sure you get there early to claim a spot. It is pretty loud, but everyone was quiet when questions were read. The trivia host was fantastic, funny, and had a unique style. We really enjoyed it. They only serve pizza (which is okay with me) and there was an hour wait for pies. Again, come early and order asap. We got the Philly Popper and it was delicious. Very thin crust with lots of flavor. They had a pretty nice selection of beers on tap. The ginger beer had kicked and they had trouble getting it started again but the bartender was really accommodating about it. I'll definitely be back.

Twisted Gingers has grown quite a bit since my first review. I'm really happy they have managed to stick around. Their addition of a pizza oven was in no doubt part. As a brewery, I'll start with their drinks. They have a decent selection of their brews on tap and pretty much anything they've ever made available in cans (for dine in or takeout). I'm honestly not in love with all their beers, but I've always been a picky beer drinker. My IPA loving beer friends rave and I do trust their judgement. They also typically have a cider available from one of a few other local breweries and have been known to have alcoholic seltzer mixed cocktails as well. When mixed with fresh fruit, these seltzers can be a real hit. As for me, my focus on visits is food. The only thing they offer is pizza and they do it well. They have a handful of standard offerings and a monthly rotating special. On the standard list, my go-to is Friends from Brussels. Be warned, they only have one oven so wait times can get long if you arrive at peak times! Service is friendly and all around good. Prices are slightly cheaper than main street and well in line with the quality they offer. Overall, a clear recommend in my book.

Cute place! Bartenders are super nice. Typically don t like beer but found some other options!

A bar for locals! This quaint bar has a great selection of beers and a handful of pizza options. We came on trivia night and the bar was packed. Overall friendly service. Something to note - very few gluten free options.

Nice little brewery tucked in the Manayunk/Roxborough neighborhood with ah-mazing pizza! This place has a chill vibe. There were board games available for patrons. They offer a variety of beers and have cans to-go as well! It can be ordered for pick-up as well. I'll say it again, the pizza is ah-mazing! Each is made-to order as they can only make one pizza at time. We had the buffalo cauliflower, da pepperoni, and da cheesesteak pizzas. My personal favorite was the da pepperoni pizza - the pepperoni on this is hand-sliced! YUM! I cannot comment on the beer since i don't drink, but I definitely recommend this place for their pizza!

Hidden Gem in the Roxborough/Manayunk area. Cool taproom with tasty pizzas! Fun beers and hard seltzer in draft. Awesome atmosphere with a even better staff. Do not miss this spot!

This is a convenient spot to grab pizza and beers if you're a local in the Roxborough area. They also have some outdoor seating on the side of the establishment if you're in the mood for outdoor dining! I'm not a beer girlie but I do like cider and our server recommended the orange seltzer. It was def tasty and a solid recommendation on his end! The pizza came out hot and was nice and cheesy. I'm giving a 3/5 b/c there was something missing on the pizza for me. It's like we were waiting for the taste to grow on us and after we finished the pizza, we confirmed there was something more we needed from it. It's not bad pizza though.

Best pizza i've tasted in Manyunk. Brocoli white pizza is my favorite. The sauce is beautifully creamy. The beers are nice too.

The main drawback is the beer options itself: about 7 options and a wide gamut of things but nothing overall so so appealing.

We knew their beer selection from looking online, but they were happy to break it down and answer any questions. My coworker and I both enjoyed a Rangi New Zealand Pilsner (but we saw our other colleagues enjoying a variety of other drinks). It's located in a sort of office building that makes it a little tricky to find, but there is a nice outside patio where you can see the Schuykill River (we saw lightening too haha). We'll definitely be back and recommend folks to check this spot out as well!

The $10 martinis on Friday were an excellent deal and definitely one of the highlights of the evening. A well-priced martini always sets a promising tone, and these did exactly that. The bartenders were helpful and kept things moving impressively well, even with a group our size, which was much appreciated. The space itself is huge and very clean, with plenty of tables and seating, so it was easy for everyone to spread out, settle in, and enjoy themselves without feeling packed in. A major point in its favour is the setup for watching sports. They have a massive wall of TV screens, plus more TVs throughout the space, which made it very easy to keep up with multiple games at once. No awkward craning for a view, no fighting for the one good seat, just a very solid setup for a group outing. Overall, it was a fun experience and very much in line with the good times we have had at other City Tap locations in DC. A lively, well-run spot for drinks and groups, and one we would happily return to.

The first thing I did was head straight for my favorite, Cantillon from Belgium. This visit, I tried their Kriek LG, a fruited lambic made by adding sour cherries to a two-year-old aged lambic. All I can say is... WOW! Tart, complex, refreshing, and dangerously drinkable. If beer could win an Academy Award, this one would be giving an acceptance speech. Now, let's talk food. I ordered the Thai Curry Mussels, and they were absolutely outstanding. The broth was packed with flavor, and the mussels were cooked perfectly. They easily rank in the top five mussel dishes I've ever had, and I've done my research! Pro tip: Don't make the rookie mistake of eating all the bread first. Save some for the end so you can soak up every last drop of that incredible curry broth at the bottom of the bowl. Trust me, you'll thank me later. The service is always excellent. John usually takes care of us in the back, and he consistently makes the experience even better with great recommendations and friendly service. In side is cozy and friendly! If you live in Philly and haven't been here yet, what are you waiting for? Great beer, amazing food, and outstanding service--this place checks every box. Just be warned: one visit and you'll be planning your next trip back before you even leave.

The bartender informed us that we could not sit at the table unless we were ordering food. At this point we ended our pub crawl and left defeated scratching our heads. This was far from a classy place without a line out the door during the week which made it even more alarming. Interesting experience as our last taste of Philly.
