When you walk up the front of the restaurant, the first thing you think is "is this the right place?" Lots of aggressive text written on the front window, the outlier of its more passive surroundings... It was something to take note of. But as you walk in, the atmosphere definitely changes. Came in with a friend and ordered 2 bison burgers. I made my own with jalapeños and BBQ sauce on it. I forget what burger my friend got. We also got fries and a s'mores milkshake to share. We also got some pale ale draft to share as I'm not a big beer drinker. My burger was cooked to perfection. It was perfect, juicy, hot and had a good bun with it too. One sturdy enough to withstand the sauce. Personally I didn't think the fries were all that great. My dinner partner liked them. The s'mores shake was phenomenal with chunks of graham cracker through out. But the best part was the toasted marshmellows on top dipped in the shake!! Amazing. Two burgers with fries (one with cheese) and two drinks = approx $35. Thank God I wasn't paying or I would've canceled the order and gone to In-n-Out. Employees were fantastic. I honestly don't know how this place has this many stars! I got a double american burger and the meat was SUPER dry. The flavor was pretty decent but all I could taste was pepper. The kids burger we ordered looked dry too. The bun was cold and fell flat since their patties are big. Our fried pickles came out soggy and we asked them to redo it and the 2nd time around it was much better. Customer service could've been better as well. Not great but not terrible. Fries were also not hot when they came out and we seem to got a lot of broken pieces. I looked at other people's fries and it seemed pretty consistent that everyone's fries looked the same. It was my first and most likely last time. There are plenty of better burger spots in Arlington. read more

They took my order, my money, made a conscious decision to deliver half my order and rather than either the restaurant or Grub call and tell me they did not have half of what I paid for and what they took out of my account, just delivered m a cold burger (Grub Hub driver lost and taking directions from me as she is looking for ANOTHER address). The driver did not bother to tell me that she only had half my order as I walked downstairs to meet her. The reviews were great, so we figured this would be a great new place to try. Here's what you need to know: do not waste your time or money. You can pay the same or less and getter a better burger from Chapps or Kincaid's. My burger, ordered with swiss, bacon, fried egg, and Hatch green chiles was as disappointing as they come. It wasn't hot. The cold bun, barely showing signs of any toasting, disintegrated before I was halfway through. The egg was fried to a crisp, yolk broken, and dried out. And...there appeared to be less than a tablespoon of green chiles on my burger. The meat was not seasoned, but it was greasy. The menu is completely uninspired. Burgers & three salads are all you will find. Yes, they have small, expensive shakes. The bacon & cheese fries were okay, but a bit greasy. The sweet potato chips (btw...the cashier corrected us when we "mistakenly" asked for sweet potato fries, are served cold. They would be good if they were warm. The place is trying to be kitschy. It doesn't work. I don't want to sit on metal folding chairs. I don't really need to know that the founders met in culinary school...which is where they should have learned to invest in quality buns for their lukewarm meat. I don't need my order called to me by a celebrity name. I am personally offended by having to squeeze my mayo from a packet. I will give them credit for trying to be unique with this over-engineered pickle thing. I could not care less. I don't "DO" pickles. First time here. I had the Kevin Bacon burger and it was delicious. The bacon on it was cooked perfectly. I hate when you get a burger that has bacon that is all chewy and not crisp at all. This was not the case whatsoever! The meat was juicy and flavorful, not over cooked and the blue cheese was a nice contrast to the meat and bacon. I love the barrels of the different flavors of pickles. The dill is still the winner for me. My boyfriend tried all the different ones and liked the sweet and spicy the best. The restaurant has fun names for the burgers and named after celebrities. You also get a celebrity "number" for your table which is fun to see the different names & faces. As a celiac, there's not a lot of places where I can go to eat without worrying about being gluten'd. Twisted Root? You can count on good food *and* not getting sick. Their GF buns are pretty luxe, so it's nice to not pay an upcharge for friggin' Udi's. It does get soggy toward the end of your burger, which I don't fault Twisted Root for because GF breads tend to disintegrate. It was a tasty bun and I didn't feel like I was deprived or missing out. Before starting my order, the server checked with me to make sure that I had an actual intolerance, so I got the special "no gluten" frier for my fries. Little things like that mean a lot. Plus, it's nice that their normal french fries don't have wheat, as it's a common filler to add to the coating of a fry to make it more crunchy. They have a huge selection of meats; I stick with the basic hamburger because I'm not super adventurous. It's a damn good patty, though, and they'll cook it medium rare if you ask. I love the way this place looks. Its so cool my nerd bones start tingling when I come in. Theres plenty of protein options and toppings. I've ordered a Kevin Bacon and the Western. If its got cheese and bacon, I'm ordering it. I think you can't go wrong with bleu cheese and bacon so I'd say I preferred the Kevin. We've gone twice and each time my burger was so far past well done, it was great done. They're giant so I don't understand how that happens when med rare is requested. Theyre somehow still juicy and greasy. Ive tried the treat yourself fries and regular fries and I think I prefer the regular because they are crispy squared. Parking is tight up front, but theres usually room in the back. Full bar and a few beers on tap if you need some happy sauce with that burger. The service is friendly. I was visiting Arlington last month and had heard amazing things about TRB. When we walked in we were greeted with some very interesting decor. Pickup truck doors, a camper, and some tailgate coolers that made up booth seats. I enjoyed the casual vibe and of course that this restaurant is a part of Diners Drive-Ins and Dives royalty. Totally unacceptable waiting 2 HOURS for 3 burgers!! Half of the restaurant left and we still waited over an hour once ordered! 2 stars because the burger was good as usual but the onion strings were so salty we had to toss.
