You know something's up when the TikTok algorithm advertises "dirty sodas", and Instagram feels the need to show shops in your area. Having wanted to sip on said beverages since seeing this trend, I was surprised to see Twisted Sugar in my area - aka the south burbs. Let me clarify - "dirty soda" simply translates to the soda of your choice, with extra jazz and cream in it - no alcohol involved. So last Saturday, I took myself on a solo adventure to Twisted Sugar. Let's just say, I wasn't the only one with that idea and was greeted with a line out the door. This place is popular! Mainly with the Gen Z crowd, but hell - they know the cool places - so I made my way inside. The space is a simple soda shop - showcasing the sweet treats made in house (think Crumbl but better and cheaper) with a view of the magic happening from the counter. There aren't tables or places to sit - so it's an order at the counter, wait and leave kind of spot. Which I didn't' mind - since I was in shop mode. The menu is overwhelmingly huge, offering all kinds of fun beverages, categorized by soda - Coke/Diet Coke/Coke Zero, Dr Pepper, Mt. Dew, Sprite, Orange, Root Beer, Sparkling water, lemonade, Energy drinks, frozen, etc. The combos are endless and all fun. Kinda wild - but fun! I opted to try two different drinks because they both caught my attention. The first one - Pixie - which featured Diet Coke, peach preserves, orange syrup and cream. OMG WOAH. I don't know what makes a blend like that taste so good - but damn. The flavors blended well together, creating a float like flavor and so good. The second one - Paradise Island. Sparkling Water, Strawberry, coconut, peach and fresh lime. OH MY GOD. This one was my favorite in that it was so refreshing, a burst of bright flavors and tasted like the perfect mocktail to take to the pool! The girls behind the counter were friendly, sweet and offered up their favorites before whipping up my order! Sugar free syrups are offered, along with low calorie options as well. PRO TIP: Drink are Buy-1-Get-1 free on Saturdays - so my grand total for the two small beverages was a whopping $3. Whoop! Gen Z's know what they are doing with this - so it's a must try! read more

We went to Twisted Sugar on an impromptu date night and were so happy we did. Being able to get dirty sodas and even more delicious cookies is right up our alley. My wife also LOVES cookie butter, so once we saw an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie butter cookie - we were sold. The service is always fast and the employees are kind (younger teens so minimal communication) We have now been three times, twice I have gotten a dirty soda, both times I have wished there was more cream (I did ask for extra), but the flavor is still great! We have tried the Oat Cookie Butter, Cinnamon Crunch, Cookies and Cream (not pictured) and Caramel Sugar. 10/10 across the board. They also serve them up cold, so it's very easy to split them up and warm them up on your own. I also want to note, as someone who LOVED Crumbl when they first got started and were dedicated to quality and not just overly sweet cookies, Twisted Sugar is a breath of fresh air, with quality recipes. read more

Cute little shop in Highlands Ranch selling flavored sodas and cookies. This is a great alternative to an ice cream stop for a sweet treat! My favorite is the peanut butter cookie. The lemon is a close second, the citrus balancing the sugar well, but it's still a bit sugary for me. I prefer the cookies without frosting, but that's all personal preference. Plenty of variety! The staff was timely, not overly friendly, but got the job done quickly. Sometimes the crowd comes in waves, but they seem to staff the place well enough to keep the line moving (in my experience.) read more

I absolutely love Twisted Sugar! Anytime I am in highlands ranch, I have to stop in. There are dozens of drink options and probably two dozen cookie options to choose from. The staff have always been so kind, especially the owner. I love that you can also get water options, which make my little one feel like a big girl when she gets a special drink. The store is clean and simple. I would love for them to open a location in castle rock, with a drive through for us mamas who have multiple kids to unload just for a quick drink. Went to Twisted Sugar tonight and Wow! Nice having a soda shop like this up the road. The staff were so friendly and kind, when I asked my husband what drink he wanted for his birthday, they offered him a free cookie. I got a Dr. Pepper drink (Mr. Master?) and my husband got the Root Beer Barrel. Both amazing. My drink had cream in it and husband really liked it. He went back and asked for a splash of cream in his and they added it, no questions asked. Cookies were good, but will save the rest for the next day. We'll be back! read more

The service was good. The young lady helping me knew what gluten free was. She was able to help me pick cookies. The chocolate chip was a bit crumbly but had good chip to dough ratio. All of the cookies were good. Sides the frosting they seem to have the same basic flavor. The cookies were not over sweet like the other cookie company. The short of it- -Rude workers, a real feeling of being a burden when you walk in - Wrong order where the worker wouldn't tell me if there was coconut in the drink or not and then seemed irritated that I wanted to know (wrong drink AND 2 wrong cookies) -No greeting or interaction at all, there were 3 people in the place (me and 2 workers) and there was no music, no talking, nothing. It was so awkwardly quiet. Longer version- I loved Twisted Sugar in Montrose, Co so when I learned that there was one 45 minutes from me I wanted to treat my kids to a soda and a cookie. I took the drive down to get some delicious treats. This is my second time at this location personally, but my kids hadn't tried it. I told the person at the counter that I needed my son's drink without coconut, as I had driven too far to get home and have him not drink it because he hates coconut flavor. As she's making my drinks she tells the other girl, "OH! I forgot to put the cream on that lady's [the lady who had just left with her order] banana cream pie cookie! Oh well, I guess." So, when my son's drink was done I decided that I should taste it to make sure it didn't have coconut, sure enough, coconut flavoring was involved. I told her, very kindly, "Uh, this sort of tastes like coconut I think, it could be me... did you accidentally add coconut?" She didn't answer and just said, "I can remake it, here give it to me and I'll remake it," I told her that if there wasn't coconut it was ok and that I might just be imagining it, that I wasn't sure (I was trying hard to be polite and I knew there was a chance that I was wrong and it was another flavor that I was tasting). She refused to answer and just said to hand it to her again and she would remake it, so I did. When my cookies came out I decided to give them a once-over, since it didn't seem to be going smoothly in there. I had ordered my kids cookies and cream cookies and when I looked at them the frosting was more golden than white so I asked (so nervous at this point because the girls working were really rude and didn't seem welcoming or kind at all, and seemed annoyed that I was there) why it was a little dark. They told me that the cream turns a darker color when it sits out and that it was indeed cream and not to worry. I didn't want to argue, so I left. I got home and my son tried his cookies and cream cookie and it turns out that it was caramel frosting. Such a huge disappointment. I went online and wrote to customer service, but no one ever replied. I won't be making this drive again and if I'm in the area I still won't bother. Too much money to have terrible customer service and wrong orders. I was the only customer so it's not like they were frantically working and just trying their best. It was just me. They didn't talk to me when I came in, they didn't talk to me the whole time, didn't say anything when I left. The same thing happened last time I stopped in, it felt very unwelcoming. Came in cause my mom and I were craving a sweet treat and had seen it and decided to try it. I am so glad that we did, the second we got in there we were greeted and it took us a while to figure out what we wanted and they were super patient and let us know some of the things that they liked and why. Never felt pressured, which usually I do but they were so kind. The cookies are unbelievable, ten times better than crumble cookies. I never really got the hype of crumble and I had tried it numerous times but twisted sugar is so much better. The soda was fantastic.
