This place is open 24 hours. We were skeptical since they're connected to chevron gas station but the steak and chicken tacos were delicious. Sauce was spicy and the grilled serano peppers were even spicier. Order at the counter and pick up the food at the opposite counter. The guy who took our order came to check up on how we're doing. Restaurant was clean and wasn't busy.

They have good tacos! I usually get the 5 taco plate with all trompo. They give you a generous amount of food. My boyfriend also agreed these are one of the best taco place in a gas station. Fuel City got nothing on these bad boys.

I tried this place a year or two ago and wasn't impressed, so I was hesitant to stop by but I was starving. This place is attached to a gas station. Though I'm sure you could eat inside, I went thru the drive thru. I saw the menu had been updated, adding new taco variations to the menu like tacos de birria & tacos de alambre. I've never heard of alambre so I asked the kind woman working the drive thru about them & she was super helpful in explaining what it all entails. I decided to give them a try & got the 3 tacos de alambre plate. For 3 tacos you can only choose 1 meat, so I opted for al pastor. For those who are curious the alambre taco comes with the meat of choice, tomato, grilled onion & is topped with a jalapeño slice. Cheese is optional. You also get a side of raw onion & cilantro, lime and the two typical salsas. Since I ordered the plate it also came with rice and refried beans. The flavor of everything was muuuuch better than the last time I've had them. The meat was juicy, rice was cooked to perfection instead of being gummy & the beans though I'm usually not a fan, also tasted good. If you're ever in Garland and in the mood for some tacos, try Twisted Trompo.

Oh my goodness this place was so good and fast! Horchata?! DELICIOUS. I love pastor tacos and most of the taco places I've been to always has fry pastor but theirs is so juicy and the green sauce is good! Buy the red sauce??? SOOOO GOOOOD

The fries & quesadilla were great. The quesadilla came with rice & beans, the rice wasn't the best but the beans were good. This place has a drive thru & is 24/7. The restaurant was very clean

I just wasn't thrilled with my experience here. It was very okay. I asked the lady in the drive-thru what she recommended. Half the time I couldn't hear her and the other half she couldn't hear me. When I finally decided to jusg choose something off the menu (2 steak and 1 trompo tacos) I paid and waited about 15 minutes in my car for them. There was nobody waiting in line and I was the only one. That was pretty frustrating and the lady wasn't very friendly. She didn't smile. She was just kinda there. The tacos were alright. I LOVED the green sauce they came with. It was super spicy and added great flavor. There were a bunch of inedible bits in the tacos with an off texture, leading me to believe the quality of the meat wasn't great. Overall, very okay. I'll probably come back and try again. They may have just been having an off day that day. I'd heard good things about this place, so I think I'll give it another try.

$27 for a massive family meal. We added the elotes, of course. So much Al Pastor Trompo, we couldn't eat anymore. Fantastic. Will be back.

As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted, seated and brought chips and salsa which I devoured. For starters, we had the guacamole salad and queso. We had to stop eating the queso and guacamole to save room for the main course because it was that good. My wife ordered the ground beef and shredded chicken enchiladas with all the fixings. They were very good with the red sauce and Spanish rice. The beef had a very good seasoning and the chicken had a taste like it had been marinated for a few hours. I had the beef fajitas. The beef was tender, succulent and seasoned well. The only thing that I didn't like was that the fajitas had a sweet taste to it. I believe the sweet taste was from sweet bell peppers or sweet onions, nevertheless, it was too sweet for my taste buds. We enjoyed ourselves, enjoyed the margaritas and the starters, but next time, I'll try some shrimp nachos. I give Ernesto's Mexican Restaurant three out of five drinks. Cheers!

I love that they bring not only good salsa with their fresh hot chips, but also a tomatillo sauce and a black bean dip. We've now eaten there several times. The taco meat has a nicely charred flavor. The tamales were very good. (I'm picky about my tamales. I've tried their ranchero sauce, chili con carne, and sour cream sauce. None of them disappoint. Their rice isn't dry like it is at many other Tex-Mex places. And their $5.00 all day frozen margaritas are worth it. We usually go for the lunch specials that run until 4:00. They don't have mole on the menu, yet. I'm looking forward to their future specials. In this day and age where it's hard to keep a restaurant open, I really hope this one survives. It's not fancy, but the food and service make it worth it. And I'm a picky person when it comes to spending money on food I don't make myself.

Our cocktails were all good - and the appetizers were very good. We had the crispy pork belly and the tostaditas with barbacoa. The crispy pork belly was especially delicious and I would order as my own dinner in the future. It comes with onions and sauces and corn tortillas and it's to die for - so crispy and flavorful. We ordered the Bistec enchiladas and they were good but not as good as the appetizers. They give you a variety of sauces when you're seated that you keep throughout the meal - from mild to spicy but I would say the "spicy" is on the mild side. Still good and flavorful but not unapproachable for most ppl. We had the Campechana dessert and it was a little strange. There was a 45-minute wait, due to how many people were crammed into downtown, trying to find places to eat. I had wanted to come here for a while, and suggested coming here to my girlfriend, who admittedly, "doesn't like Tex-Mex" (I know, I know), and after encouraging her to give it a try, we were pleasantly treated to some very high quality food in a nice environment. Despite being woefully understaffed, to the point that they were out of bowls for the salsa and started serving it in to-go containers, the staff was friendly and helpful, with the manager still making the rounds to introduce himself and check on people's experiences. I really liked the chips & salsa, and so did my girlfriend who is very spice sensitive. We had the, "Julio's Tilapia", which was, "Pan-seared tilapia topped with fresh sautéed baby spinach and jumbo grilled shrimp, finished with a silky spicy chipotle cream sauce. Served with rice and a crisp side salad." and the "GUIS-Ohhhhhh!", which was, "Traditional Mexican beef stew. Served with avocado slices, tomatoes, lettuce, & tortillas". The food was delicious, and I really thought the jumbo shrimp was great, and the Guisoooo (carne guisada) was deeply flavored, and very rich in a way I haven't had before. My girlfriend made sure to flag down the manager to point out what an exceptional meal she thought it was, and mentioned several times how blown away she was, and I quote her as saying, "I was expecting one thing, but I did not expect a foodie experience!". We sat at the bar area, which while not large, has taller tables which is helpful for me. The restaurant handled the huge volume of people well, and the food quality was great.
