This place is an excellent breakfast spot, especially coming from Maryland. I love the food we had and the quality of service. Parking was easy, and the restaurant was spacious and clean. The bathroom was also clean. The service was fast, and all the servers were attentive. All the food we ordered tasted really good! Overall, this place is a must-visit.

Went here for brunch with some friends. We all lived nowhere near this spot but somehow ended here. They have regular American and Mexican breakfast/lunch option. I opted for their Mexican scramble which came a choice of tortillas or toast then topped with slices of avocado. It was flavorful and very well could make two decent dice breakfast burrito. Service was efficient, and fast. Our food came out pipping hot and fresh looking. The space shared a room from a banquet hall which I think they rent for bigger events. The two rooms can be combined or split with a barn like sliding door in the middle of a big space. This place is an option for brunch if you are in the area.

Went for pancakes, left beyond satisfied. JJ's is very spacious and has some very delicious food. No wait time, menu very straightforward I can see myself going here a lot for a quick breakfast.

The wait time for two people on a Sunday was ~20min. We were sat at 12:55 and left the restaurant at 2:11. We felt the food took a while to come out, and so did the check once we asked to pay. I ordered the caramel macchiato which was basically diabetes in a cup. I couldn't drink even half of it. My boyfriend had asked for water as a refill and was brought back another horchata which was not free and not communicated. The food was ok. I ordered the red chilaquiles with birria. The meat portion wasn't enough, and the sauce was not a level 3 spice. Seemed more like a level 1 to me. My boyfriend got the chicken and waffles, which were not flavordu We shared a plate of the tres leches pancakes, but they were a bit dry. No syrup was provided and frankly, we didn't want to wait another 5min for them to bring that by. I wouldn't come back in all honesty. I was extremely disappointed to have paid $61 for an experience that felt inconvenient.

Came here on Mother's Day so they were busy but we made reservations and waited maybe 20 minutes to be seated. The staff were nice and checked up on us. Our food came out warm/cooled down but the waffle n chicken was good still. The tres leches pancake was the highlight!!

This place was busy early! We got there around 8:30am on Sunday. It was very roomy. I enjoyed the attentive service. I would not get the chorizo and egg again, just wasn't flavorful. The beans were very good! And the potatoes obrian was more onions & bell pepper than potatoes. The chicken& waffles were AMAZING! we really enjoyed the waffles. Also got a side of bacon & eggs, sooo delicious

This place never misses! Our go to, exceptionally delicious, every time breakfast spot. Be prepared for crowds on the weekends, but the food is always well worth the wait.

Drove the 30+ minutes specifically for their menudo. Possibly best I've ever had. Tipico's is a close second in taste but wins out in both distance (from me) as well as offering menudo daily, not just Saturday and Sunday. But if you're near JJ's, then by all means go! Big place. Busy. Decent service. Extensive menu with a good variety!

Prices are decent, considering the economy these days. Noticed ladies working in the dining room to assure tables are clean as soon as customers leave. Once your meal is ready, they will call your name or someone will bring it to your table. Retro decor. Loved the music. Located across from SMU. You have the college crowd, residents from the neighborhood, grandparents with their grandchildren, and drive thru all buzzing with conversation. I found the chicken livers lightly battered, crispy on the outside and very tender meat on the inside. Mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans were my sides. All tasty. Add additional seasonings and pepper sauce if you prefer. Be sure to check out the banana pudding. I requested extra meringue. Dessert was made fresh and tasted great. Pick-up, drive through, or dine in. Side note: Although there is no place for a tip when paying for your order... I always leave a tip on the table or hand it to the ladies working there. Much deserved for their hard work, friendly smiles, and pleasant attitude.

However, our first impression wasn't great. My wife and I walked in wearing our Mexico jerseys because Mexico was set to play England in the World Cup. As we waited to be greeted, I couldn't shake the feeling that we were being judged by the looks we received. We were then seated in a back corner while most of the front seating was occupied by lighter-skinned patrons. Whether intentional or not, it made me feel uncomfortable and, unfortunately, singled out. As the meal went on, my wife initially didn't share my concerns, but after a comment was made about "saving money" while we were ordering, she also felt the remark was unnecessary and left us wondering if assumptions were being made about us. The food itself was average. The eggs were undercooked, and the chicken-fried steak lacked flavor and had the texture of something previously frozen. The standout item was definitely the biscuits--they were buttery, perfectly crisp on the outside, and easily the best part of the meal. Overall, it was a below-average dining experience. While the service improved after we were seated, the initial impression and a few comments during the meal overshadowed what could have been a much better visit. I hope the restaurant takes every guest's experience to heart because everyone deserves to feel equally welcome.
