We decided to take the drive to Monongahela to try this little place. It had a kind of fast-food/diner feel to it. Staff was friendly. The burgers were outstanding and the French fries were nice and crisp and not greasy. I had a bacon cheeseburger and my date had the regular cheeseburger. They were fresh-tasting and done to perfection. We also had to try a hot dog, which we split between us. It was very good. Food was ready pretty quickly, and to be honest, you're going to pay the same price (or more) at McDonald's or Wendy's, and get a far lesser quality meal. With inflation how it is, where else can you get a homemade cheeseburger that is absolutely delicious with fries and a drink for $8? Where do I even begin? Unlike fast food places, these patties look and taste like ones you would make at home. Perfectly formed, perfectly cooked, perfectly delicious. Fresh bread. The fries are out of this world. Fresh cut and fried. What really surprised me is I also ordered a side salad. Who would think, at a little gem of a place like this, it would be so fresh and filled with ingredients? Not just a lettuce salad, but lettuce, tomatoes, olives, cucumbers. They have onions and pickles too in the condiment area if you want to add them as well. It was a great price and fresh, crisp and delicious. Best of all, the place is very clean. Restrooms are spotless. The kitchen is right in the open so you can see the food being prepared. First off, upon entry, I was taken by how very neat and clean the place is. I hope they keep this up. Items sampled included their Chili Dog, Cheese Dog, Bacon Cheese Burger, Fries, and a Super Pretzel with Cheese. The dogs were good. Nothing spectacular, or "different" from any place that served "a good dog". Some of our buns were --slightly-- stale, but other than that, there was no issue with them. There was a quaint little toppings bar that consisted of mayo, pickles, relish, onions, hot sauce, ketchup, mustard, and brown mustard. The burger was good, too. I was pleased with the size and the seasoning on it. The fries were good. They are fresh cut, are given in a good amount, and were crispy and NOT greasy. The only thing I wish they had was some seasoning on them. Hoping in the future they can include something other than just salt and pepper on their little toppings bar, like a seasoning salt or something like that. All in all, if I were to be in the area again, and were in the mood for a burger or dog, I would stop here. Fair prices, and good portions. read more

Been trying local lent menus. Had the 8 oz fish sandwich stacker (Pittsburgh style with fresh cut fries and vinegar slaw). It is delicious, especially on the fresh Italian bread. Also got the LAST order of Haluski!!! It is also very good and tender. Ordering in the drive-thru was a breeze and the attendant was very friendly and accommodating. Since they make the fish to order, she had me pull up front and then brought the order out to my car!!! Just a few minutes to wait for fresh fish!!! I'm definitely a fan of this place. Hot dogs have good snap (though not as good as Red Caboose) and they're usually cooked well. Fries are good. Never soggy and have a decent crisp to them and they don't taste freezer burned, which is very important to me. I would recommend this place if the Red Caboose is out of your way. They've got a good shop here. Update: They've now got one major advantage over Red Caboose, and that is they now serve some great corndogs! read more

I don't know a lot but I DO KNOW burgers & Hot Dogs & customer service! The greeting from the young lady (Dawn)that took my order was very friendly, order was up quick and the food was sooo good! Burgers & hot dogs are pretty easy fare to get right, but sadly not all places do get it right! But the presentation, customer service and freshness of the buns & condiments are also important for an overall great customer experience! And they also score 100% on those! Really good burgers, super nice people. The hot dogs are nothing to write home about....they're just hot dogs. Not much you can do about it. Fries are excellent...they remind me of potato patch fries at Kennywood when you order them with cheese. The burgers taste good. There is a very simple generic condiment stand, and you can't order burgers with anything but cheese. I would not recommend the grilled ham and cheese if you are hungry because it is very. VERY. Small. Two pieces of white bread, one slice of cheese and one thin slice of deli shaved ham. It was more like a kids meal. I could have ate 4 of them at least. Nothing tasted bad at all, it is a nice clean place and brand new. It's worth a stop for quick, cheaper priced food. read more

On Oct 5th my sons and I were there on our usual boys day out, they enjoy going there a lot. During our meal I observed a man wearing glasses and sporting a goatee with beads dangling from it come out to clean tables. He immediately went to the trash container and pushed down the garbage with both his ungloved hands. This adult with out hesitation started cleaning tables and then the condiment station, then back to the food preparation area. HE NEVER WASHED HIS HANDS.
