They were tender and had a great flavor. Prices were reasonable for the size of the steak. We had asparagus (grilled perfectly) and roasted potatoes were seasoned perfectly. I started trying more local places recently and I've been so surprised to see how many great restaurants there are in the Mon Valley and this one can be added to the list! Great view of the river with an outdoor seating area and cozy decor inside. Our server Sydney was an absolute gem! Friendly, welcoming, and excited that we were visiting for the first time. We ordered the zucchini basket, which on the menu is says LARGE, but we were not prepared for how large it actually was! Also, we ordered the Rosa Pasta and Cod and mushroom entree with rosemary rice. Both absolutely delicious. They also have desserts made especially for the restaurant but we were too full! The server was very accommodating as we are a little cold natured and needed to be of the way of ceiling fans and air vents, but preferred to sit upstairs rather than navigating steps down to the enclosed patio. My wife and I recently stopped here when in the area. It is a nice spot near the water with outdoor seating. The service was great and it seemed like a place with a lot of regulars. My food was good, but not great. The buffalo chicken dip didn't have much flavor and had a sweet taste to it. Something about it just seemed off. I ordered a burger as my main meal and it was also a little bland and was way overcooked. Could have just been an off day for them. I would stop back to try some of the other options. This place is a hidden gem in the Mon Valley. You really get it all here: pleasant ambiance, very congenial staff, delicious food, a view, a full bar, and also of note, house baked desserts. In a time where it is increasingly hard to find restaurants with food worth paying for, Speers Street is definitely worth it. Our first visit we ordered the Pecan Salmon Crunch and the Steak Teriyaki Tips. My perfectly cooked salmon featured a honey mustard drizzle and rosemary rice. I enjoyed it very much and am rather picky about salmon, but this was Pacific salmon so big plus. The rosemary rice is just beautiful to taste. My second visit I got the Cod & Mushroom entree. It was fantastic, perfectly cooked, delicate flavor, and literally the perfect amount of cracker crumbs and butter. The scampi butter is addictive. The cod was delectable and the mushrooms were flawless. My wife doesn't ever order fish, but after tasting it she said this was definitely a winner! Her teriyaki tips were tender and flavorful. On our second visit, we shared the Autumn Harvest Salad. It was fresh and the flavors mingled well. My wife ordered the Steak Alfredo Cavatappi and it was wonderful. The peanut butter pie is our favorite dessert. Don't forget to grab coconut rum biscotti on your way out!! read more

I chose this place for my birthday dinner and was not disappointed. We were seated right away and were able to snag a table outside to enjoy the river view. Our waitress was pleasant and took care of us throughout our time there. We ordered the fried zucchini as our appetizer and it was superb. Words really can't describe how delicious it truly is. I've been wanting to try this restaurant for ages and finally had the opportunity today. It is a nice, open dining area with a view of the river. Tables are spaced decently apart and are comfortable. The menu has a nice variety. Sandwiches, salads, appetizers, pizzas and entrees. They also regularly have specials. I started with a spicy pineapple margarita and it was delicious! It even had jalapeños in it! A great mix of spice and sweet. I ordered the chimichuri steak fold. The steak was tender and plentiful. It was served in a pita with roasted red peppers and plentiful chimichuri sauce. It was large and messy to eat as a handheld so I knife and forked it. My husband had the bbq burger. The burger was a nice size and perfectly cooked. Serving was friendly and efficient. Overall we had a great experience and it is definitely a place we will come back to. read more

Homey feel to this place Thts right on the river. Stacey was our server and she was very sweet and attentive. We had a party of 11 which is a fairly Big group for this place but they accommodated. I had one of the weekend specials which was cheese and chicken tortellini...tortellini was a bit chewy, pasta tasted a bit under seasoned but cheese/Alfredo sauce was tasty. Chicken was very well seasoned and cooked. Wife had the salmon crunch which is a pecan crusted salmon that I almost fought her for. It was soooooooo good. And I don't even like salmon all that much. Daughters had another weekend special which was a blackberry pork chop which was ok. Brother in law had the surf and turf pasta and that was also realllly good. Desserts we're on point! We got the cheesecake platter that brings like 6 different cheesecakes and some cookies and everything was sooo good! A great place. Everything we ordered was delicious- fresh, hot and served timely even though it was pretty crowded. Stuffed banana peppers were served with sauce and cheese. Blackened chicken sandwich was served on a pretzel bun and was tasty. Others had a fish sandwich, salmon bowl shrimp poboy and everyone enjoyed them. I stopped for a small quick lunch. I had the wedding soup and the Rueben Egg Rolls. The soup was very good but the egg rolls were excellent.
