This is a non-pretentious hole in the wall family business with some really good food. The service was very attentive and kind. The dining area is small, which indicates this being more of a takeout spot. I tried the Al Pastore and chorizo tacos, which were both pretty good. The winning item was the empanada. I love this little locally owned taco shop. Started coming here because it is close to my work, but I love it so much that I will now travel across towns just for their pupusas. This is a small spot in a building that houses several other places to eat, so there's a lot of variety in the area. We opted to eat in and sit at one of the few tables they had inside, but in hindsight, should have probably taken our order to go. The inside was clean but very worn and we had a direct view of the toilet from where we were sitting because the space was so small, two things that didn't provide the best experience when eating. We ordered birria tacos, carnitas tacos, and chips and guacamole. Everything was freshly prepared but we didn't really enjoy the seasoning. The carnitas were dry and chunky and the chips and guacamole, while freshly prepared, lacked salt and lime that would have made them outstanding. I hesitate to say anything constructive about a small family run business and would like to give them another try (this time for takeout) so we can try some additional items. read more

Yet another contender for best Birria tacos. The consommé was incredible. I suspect if I'd stayed there to eat, I might have swooned in my seat. A 20 minute drive home probably robbed some texture but the 3 tacos were quickly dispatched with no complaints. My lime wedge was a dud (one of those weird dried out limes) but the little container of green sauce provided a nice contrast. These Birria tacos are worth the drive down Reservoir and Park Avenues with their ridiculous traffic. read more

With how many five star ratings this place has, I'm a bit taken aback by the quality of food I received. I ordered just the 3 birria tacos and consome and was pretty appalled by the taste since, until now, I have not had birria tacos that I didn't like. Good but a little expensive. I typically pay about $10-12 for 3 Birria tacos with consommé at other places. It's 4.25 a taco and 2.99 for a small consommé. It's is extra if you want rice. If I bought 3 with consommé here it would run about $17. Especially expensive for the area. In addition the empanadas are also 4.25 for 1. It lacked seasoning, very bland. read more

The torta and chimichanga had barely any meat. The meat was very tender at least but so bland. I ordered take out for lunch and it was delicious! I got carne asada tacos, chips and salsa, and their coconut lemonade. The lemonade blew me away - it reminded me of a piña colada (but I can drink it at work). The tacos were minimalist but the meat was tender and cooked perfectly and the flavors were great. Ordered from Two Angels via DoorDash - Walking tacos (red sauce) & a couple empanadas. I LOVED the beef empanada....I could've eaten a dozen, SERIOUSLY delish. The walking tacos were yummy, sauce was flavorful. Chicken empanada was also good, just couldn't beat the beef. Planning to stop in today for some take away. I think some other reviews wanting more salt may just be Americans being overly accustomed to SALT as the sole flavor in food. Not everything needs to be salted to be good. Had the worst experience. Place an order, we were told that it would be 15 minutes. It took 45 minutes. Our order was forgotten. They had push our order to the side because they had more of their customers coming in. The food was not great. Over price. For the quality and quantity.
