    Carnitas and Birria Tacos
    Erik U.

Stopped in for RI Food Fights Taco Mania! It's a small clean, cute place with bright colors and Mexican Music playing in the background. I placed my order to go, but there are a few tables for dine in, plus a table outside if that's your preference. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I had a couple hard shell Carnitas Tacos and one Birria Taco. They were all great! I'll have to stop back in sometime soon and give the the Mole Pablano Chicken Enchiladas a try.

Ordered take out on probably the busiest day, Cinco de Mayo. Although there was a mishap, the manager took care of everything as fast as possible. Birria ramen was AMAZING! Thank you to all the staff who helped resolve my issue! Amazing service

This place is amazing ! This is for all my ladies and gentlemen that cannot drink Horchata because of the dairy issues, THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE! They serve VEGAN HORCHATA! As soon as we ordered, it didn't take long for the food to come out. We were served immediately, and the food was amazing. Not to mention, the vibes of this place was great! Very very welcoming ! Definitely will be back!

    3 Birria Tacos & Consomé

Kind and welcoming staff with a relaxed atmosphere. The Birria Tacos are excellent and so rich with flavor!but I can't believe they sell such nasty nacho cheese and not authentic queso with some spice. They're really missing out that part and it would pair really well with everything on the menu!

The Birria tacos were excellent, I enjoyed the horchata, and my carnitas were not what I'm used to but also tasty. I would come here again. The service was very friendly and kind.

Rating: 4.0 I've been meaning to try this place for a while. We decided to try it for lunch after working out at the gym. Looks like the place has relocated recently and its a-lot smaller. Place is small with only 3 seatings, you order at the front and they will bring the food out to you. Inside is well decorated and there is background music. We ordered tacos, birria ramen, burrito bowl, and agua fresca passion fruit and jamaica lemonade. We ordered few tacos with home made tortilla including carne asada, pollo tinga, al pastor, and chorizo. The tacos were pretty good overall especially the home made tortillas. Meats were mostly okay but chorizo stood out more than the others. I forgot to use their home made salsas so next time I need to use them for tacos because I think it would heighten the flavors. Birria ramen was decent. The soup had a pretty complex and deep flavor . Noodles were just instant noodles so nothing special. Burrito bowls were okay. It was pretty basic. Agua frescas were pretty good but was on the sweeter side. I personally liked the passion fruits one better. Service was relatively quick and good. Overall the place was pretty good. I was lucky that I was able to be seated but if I were to go back I would plan for take out. I would get homemade tortilla taco with chorizo again and maybe try their other options. Their Birria seemed to be pretty good but personally I'm not a huge fan of shredded meat.

First time at their new spot which is about 300' away... Bright and lively space with larger kitchen (so larger menu) but much less seating (13). Many takeout orders. Service and food as usual great. Had their green chicken enchiladas dinner and tres amigos tacos (you can only chose one meat). Winners. Damages with tip and drinks (no alcohol license yet) was $55. Enjoy!!

After hearing so many good things about Casa Azul, I had to try it out for myself. Their location seats about ~10 people, and many people were getting takeout while we were there. We got the Barria tacos and a Barria chimichanga; service was quick, and the food was delicious! I would definitely go back for some tacos and a margarita once their new liquor license is available (currently renewing license since they moved locations).

This place is so cute! They have a Mexican feel with Frida decor and authentic menu! This is a new location but it a bit small with limited seating, but we had no problem since it was early lunch hours where we arrived. Definitely a take out location. My Frida burrito bowl was simple, and delicious. They accommodate with my request of no crème, and crème on the side of the tacos. The tacos we ordered were specifically with hand made tortillas which was the best decision. The tacos were soft and fresh tasting. As a Mexican I always opt for fresh tortillas. Carne asada and alpastor were ok. My favorite were the chicken tinga and the chorizo. I also tried the birria ramen. Honestly, the flavor was great! The soup base was so savory and true to the birria flavor. One spoonful felt very home-y and cozy this cold morning. The ramen noodles were ok, but the highlight was the meat and soup. Hibiscus lemonade was on the sweet side. Passion fruit was perfect. It was a solid Mexican place, with simple, not too greasy, and clean feeling food. They do have great savory flavors with an authentic taste. I approve as a Mexican myself. The staff were kind and bring everything to your table after you order at the counter.

    Carnitas Red Chilaquiles
    Karla M.

I remember coming here a while ago and having high expectations this time, but I was not impressed. I ordered the carnitas red chilaquiles from the spring specials menu. The nachos were a bit cold, the meat was in chunks rather than shredded and seemed like it was just boiled rather than slow cooked to get a pull apart texture. My friend ordered the chicken tacos and they also looked like they were sloppily put together. There might be some items on the menu that are delicious but these in particular I would not try again. I did enjoy how the inside is decorated and although it's small on the inside, the positioning of the tables is well thought out.

I love this place. When I walked in and saw the beautiful, colorful decor with a painting of Frieda,I knew I'd fall in love w this establishment. To actually have Mexican food in Providence makes me so happy, after moving here from California. I ordered

I visited for the Taco Mania Fest and tried the carnitas and chicken tinga tacos, along with two handmade tacos filled with steak and al pastor. The chicken and al pastor tacos were particularly good. I enjoyed the handmade tacos, though they were a bit pricey. Overall, it was a good experience, and there's a small dining area inside.

This place checks all the boxes. 1) excellent margarita 2) great menu 3) cute interior with a homey feel 4) efficient service 5) delicious food I had one of the special margaritas that came with a shot of mezcal. So delicious. For my meal, I had the mole enchiladas. I could have eaten two more plates of it. Plan to be creative for parking, there are only two spots in the small lot next to the building and street parking.

We ordered drinks before the meal. I had a Vermont Red Ale for the first time which was very good and worth remembering. At this time they were serving'cocktails for a cause' in support of the Alzheimer's Association, which my other half decided to have. The drink, Fuchsia Butterflies ($15), was made solarium gin, house-made lemoncello, with a Gran Classico & Violet Rinse. It was quite excellent. I had a sip to try (I am usually not one for cocktails) and enjoyed the taste. Perhaps I will try cocktails in the future. For food we shared curry moules frites, well done, just how I like them, and salt and vinegar Wings - tasty but too salty which detracted from the dish. We ended with a good chocolate mint creme brûlée. The check came to $80 to which we added a decent tip for our friendly server, Triston. We have always enjoyed the vibe and cozy environment of this place and are sure to return.

At their front patio, they had the World Cup game playing, but the back patio felt cozier so we opted for that. The inside though was a strong second since the lighting is very low, creating a cool and calm environment. Walking through the restaurant to get to our table made me realize that each table is unique, no two are decorated the same or have the same furniture. It was a hot day but the overhead mesh cover blocked out a lot of the sun. Our waitress made us feel very welcome from the start and told us about their drink and food specials. My friend ordered Guatemalan beer as well as a Spanish beer. For food, we ordered the plantain fries, octopus, calamari, and shrimp salad, and grilled lamp chops. The seafood salad came out first. According to the menu, it was going to be paired with cornbread. It looked like sourdough bread but had a far denser consistency. I was expecting the salad to have lots of shrimp to act as a filler but surprisingly, it was about 60% octopus, 25% calamari, 10% shrimp, and 5% onions. The seafood was very flavorful, tasted fresh, and cooked perfectly. The portion size was great for two. Next came the plantain fries, which I was least impressed with as it was essentially fried plantain chunks. I think it would have been better if they were cut into smaller pieces that can be easily dipped and consumed in one bite. The plantain was gently ripe, so just a little sweet and the dipping sauce was like a less sour sour cream. Lastly, the lamp chops came out and the presentation was wonderful. They were a bit skinnier and less tender than that I was expecting, but flavor wise they were good. We enjoyed the food, ambiance, and service here.

Furthermore, several tables were seated around us, placed their drink orders, and had their drinks before our appetizers reached our table (both inside tables as well as those on the patio). I'm hoping the service issue was a lack of training, as it was not an incredibly busy day (surprising given pride was happening ‍). It was also mid afternoon so unaffected by any kind of rush.
