These place was just okay in my opinion. It wasn't bad, but it isn't something I would go out of my way to come back to either. We came in and got seated immediately, which was cool. Ordered drinks and got those immediately, which was also good. When our drinks got dropped off, we were asked if we had already decided on what we wanted to eat, but we hadn't even been handed menus yet. It was at that point that the QR code on the table was gestured to, so we realized that the menu was to be viewed on our phone. Luckily, my ASD kiddo orders the same thing every single time (orange soda, side of fries, queso to dip them in) so he could place his order without looking, but I needed to look at the menu. And it just wasn't super viewer-friendly on a cellphone. Constant hitting the back button, lots of scrolling to compare items. I finally just ordered some random tacos so I could be off my phone and stop ignoring my kiddo. The food itself was pretty standard fare. Not bad but not special either. The restaurant itself was offensively warm though, we were pretty uncomfortable and ended up leaving after my little guy started feeling too overheated and got sick, so that was fun. There are just too many other restaurants to try in the area for us to want to try this one again. read more

Two Compadres is a gem. It's part of the local Lalo's chain, so their food matches their other locations pretty consistently. I love their ground beef tacos (I know, basic, but good!), and their cocktails are tasty too. I visited most recently just before Christmas, and the holiday decor was so warm and inviting. I also enjoy summer nights on their patio. It's a good choice for Mexican in Midlothian! read more

De-freaking-licious!!!! We get takeout there once a week! I don't know what kind of sauces they use on the dishes I get, but they're insanely tasty and unique!!! We always get the table side guac and it's always fantastic. I'm a sucker for avocado and this is always so good! My husband's "usual" is the Burrito Vallarta which is a delicious combo of chicken, pineapple, peppers and onions. There is a chipotle sauce on top and it comes with "green rice". It's so flavorful and unique! I always get the Arroz Del Mar with only shrimp. It's the perfect combo of shrimp, fresh avocado, green rice, fresh onions, and cotija cheese. It's not too heavy and leaves me tummy room for all the fresh tortilla chips that come with each order. You want unique Mexican food, go there ASAP!!!! This is the best Mexican restaurant in Midlothian...period! I've tried all of the others, they can't compete on the quality, quantity, and taste of the food. The meals come quick. Great weekly specials too. The drinks are good (never order the big size unless you have a designated driver or Uber!). The service is wonderful. And, the restaurant is clean and well decorated. When the weather is warmer, there is a very nice outside eating area (although it does face the Midlothian Turnpike). I can't write enough good things about this place! read more

Friendly outstanding customer service as soon as we walked in. It's nice to be greeted when you walk into a restaurant. We asked to be seated outside and the manager came and turned on the heaters for us. Super sweet. The food came out quick. We did go on a Sunday around 5:30pm. Ohhhh the fresh chips and salsa is addicting I had the veggie fajitas they were outstanding and there was so much. I barely touched my meal because it came with a generous side dish of rice beans, and a salad and I basically ate my side dish, and I took the rest of the vegetable fajitas home. I hardly go out for dinner because it's very expensive but for $17 the amount of food that I got and I got to take some home I would definitely come back here again probably once a month. It's now one of my top five restaurants. And the servers were super nice. They would check on us and ask if we wanted more refills on our chips and salsa just overall friendly nice servers. Pleasant neighborhood Mexican joint. It reminds me of the quality Tex Mex food you find in, well, Texas itself. They'll start you with chips and salsa, and the salsa is really pretty nice. Margaritas are a good size with a good taste. The menu is HUGE but this is a good thing, it's just variations of basically any Tex Mex dish you would expect. All of it was delicious-- I'd recommend some variation of fajita to get an introductory experience. Service was good, pretty attentive. It was busy but not packed for a Friday night. Seems like a family place; there was a nice mix of groups and people. Things were calm. There is a parking lot behind the building, plenty of space. The food and service here are always great. The bartenders are super nice and and the drinks are nice! I usually sit outside but there was an event so we sat inside. It's clean inside and the ambience is great. I would definitely recommend coming here for dinner! The numerous windows lets in a lot of light so it's nice and bright. The chicken quesadilla, I heard, was nice and looked pretty full and fresh. The Fajitas Titanic was great and the fish was cooked absolutely beautifully. The portion was so large that I had to take half home. They make corn tortillas on site every day except Tuesdays, but their homemade corn tortillas was still great a day old. I thoroughly enjoyed my tacos and the drinks and will always recommend this spot! read more

I was excited to see that a new Mexican restaurant opened up so close to home. My dad and I went for dinner and had a good time. The menu here is pretty expansive with a variety of different options to appeal to everyone in your group. My dad enjoyed the taco trio as a way to sample three different tacos while I ordered the chicken avocado tacos. I was a bit disappointed with my order. There wasn't a lot of avocado and the tacos lacked the variety of toppings offered at other nearby Mexican restaurants. Prices are a little bit higher here than other places, so I had expected a little more than just chicken and tortillas. Our server was polite, but a little inattentive. I think she was new to serving and was still getting the hang of it. Everyone wore masks and the tables were mostly socially distanced. While my food was good, I find there are better Mexican restaurants nearby that offer a better value and better service, so I am not sure I would visit again. read more

As one of the last people in the restaurant, I chose to perch at the and bar got excellent service, though there was a bit of stumbling since my Spanish is a little questionable. I did have to request some salsa verde, because the red salsa that comes with chips is a little boring. Dessert was a little meh, but the Al pastor was exactly what I was looking for. Got takeout from this place yesterday. So many elements of our order were forgotten, and it seemed like they totally skipped any garnishes, toppings, or sides. We got carne asada tacos without onions, cilantro, or the beans we selected as a side, and fajita filling without tortillas or any of the accompanying sides. It was pretty disappointing for a $70+ takeout order to feel like we were eating random ingredients instead of a complete meal (I could have done that at home). They don't answer the phone, which is the only way to get in touch with them, so we didn't have any hope of getting the other items from our order. I made a last minute decision to grab a margarita for National Margarita Day and chose Two Compadres. I opted for this restaurant since one of the bartenders is a good friend of my nephew (he was not working) but I was acknowledged as soon as I walked in. The ambiance is cozy and the decor was more contemporary in my opinion but I loved the look and feel. They give you chips & salsa while you view the digital menu. It was hard choosing as they have a variety of options and I decided on the Monterrey tacos (chicken, poblano peppers, onions, mushrooms and tomatoes topped with Monterey Jack cheese). My order came pretty fast and you get three tacos and they were delicious. It also comes with rice and refried beans.... now here's the downer; I was not a fan of the beans and I love refried beans just not from here. My waiter Victor, who was totally AWESOME by the way suggested I try the house margarita they make fresh daily and it was so good I had two. Plus you couldn't beat the $5 price tag. Overall this place is great and I will definitely be back to try more especially the carnitas as they came highly recommended! read more

What a fabulous Mexican restaurant. The seating, music, servers and chips and salsa are so inviting. The prices are so welcoming for the quality of the food. A frozen jumbo tasty margarita $10. With entrees well under $20 and large plates, no one leaves hungry. This was our second time, because the first could be a fluke. Margaritas. Baseball. Nick. Our second visit to Two Compadres, and this time during the week. This joint is quite chic as Mexican places go -- stylish lighting, a gorgeous bar, and several huge screens. While the menu presents as expected with the added bonus of a couple "specials" nights, bartender Nick stole the show. I have to admit it, we are particular with our margaritas. Super sweet is not our thing. Enter Nick. Bartender Nick recommended a "skinny margarita" that combined Tres Agaves, freshly squeezed lime juice (we watched him do it), and agave nectar. It tasted absolutely anything but skinny: it was really great! So great, we had two! Beyond expert margarita development, Nick was on top of everything at an indoor bartop. Street tacos were the special on the night we visited at $2 each. These were good for $2 a piece. We will return to see Nick and enjoy Two Compadres in the future. read more
