With the assistance of the yelp app, we called bars and restaurants sitting in the Denny's off of Woodridge drinking regular coffee. Finally, a lovely young lady picked up the phone, "Cooter Brown's." We had to take detours because the highways were closed too. I already mentioned Texas was closed. Mind you yelp said it had two reviews. I told him, "You know they are probably the owner's friends." The parking lot was empty in the front. How did the bartender get here? When we walked in to my surprise there were a handful of folks all playing darts. They have a back entrance and that's the door the regulars use. Beer only dive bar, doesn't usually suit my fancy, but this one did. They had plenty of Smirnoff in several flavors. We played few rounds of pool and enjoyed plenty of cool music from the jukebox. Everyone there was friendly, even the dude who caused a ruckus and was banned from ever going back during her shift. (Talkative on his way in, but didn't say anything to us on his way out.) The waitstaff appear to be too busy or possibly too disorganized to keep up with the amount of orders. The drink I had was a lemon drop, it tasted bland like sweet water with alcohol in it. He introduced himself and asked if it was my first time. There was a bit of a line at some points but it moved quickly. Food (N/A): While they don't serve food, they do allow you to bring food. There's a taco joint across the street and they have a menu at Rob Ray's. You can call in and pick up your order. Drinks (4/5): Now this is what we're here for! They have a nice selection of beers on tap and bottled beer. I'm all about the variety and trying new beers so that's what I did. Every single beer I tried was one I had never had before. They also have some seltzers. If you're looking for a deal, you can buy tokens at a flat rate. They also allow you to make donations with your purchase to firefighters, nurses, police officers, etc. which is a really nice touch. It makes giving back easy if you'd like to do so! That said, Rosewater is a cocktail bar tucked away in Clear Lake and is probably one of the few spots in the area offering this type of experience, that's not in the heart of Houston. We stopped in on a Monday evening right before closing and were surprised that they still seated us and gave us the chance to grab a drink. I went with the bartender's choice mocktail, which was well crafted, while he ordered an espresso martini and enjoyed it. The drinks were reasonably priced, the atmosphere was comfortable, and the staff was welcoming despite us arriving so close to closing time. The space itself is cozy, with both indoor seating and an outdoor patio. Another plus is there's plenty of parking. Overall, a it's a solid neighborhood cocktail bar with a relaxed vibe.
