Context: I took my family to check out the Kemah Boardwalk while staying in Seabrook for travel. We walked around the boardwalk and struck up quite a hunger for dinner. We had walked by this place on our way to the boardwalk and noticed a sign for seafood boil pots for only $11.99. What a deal. My son was very interested in getting some crab legs and seafood so we decided to give this place a shot. Kids are not allowed inside the main establishment but families were welcomed to sit out on the patio and still enjoy the drink and food menu. It was a nice enough day so we didn't hesitate to grab a seat. Service: The patio was a little bit in disarray at first and you seat yourself so it took a moment to find a server but when we did find one, she was friendly and great with the kids. Very considerate and helpful and made sure we had plenty of water to drink out in the heat. Food and drink: The menu had a decent variety to it - sandwiches, salads, burgers, wings, and seafood pots. I still couldn't believe the price. Normally, you'd sink $25+ dollars for a seafood pot. The sizes looked smaller than what you might normally get but for a kid and my wife, it was plenty of food when paired with a side of french fries. A good mix of shrimp, crab, corn, and potatoes. The seasoning spice and crab sauce on it was amazing, highly addictive. I kept dipping fries into it, so good. I went a different route and tried the What-Tha-Cluck chicken sandwich. Probably one of the best fried chicken sandwiches I have ever eaten in my life. Greasy, cheesy, flavorful, so damn good. Wow. I almost ordered a second just to have a couple more bites. Price: Prices were a steal here. $11.99 for seafood pots, sandwiches for under $7, and huge portions of sides for only $3. We ate like kings and paid like peasants here. Great food and service as well so great bang for your buck. My consensus: This is a must stop while visiting the Kemah Boardwalk area. I wish we could have tried the food. I can say it smelled good but I cannot rate it because we never got a chance to order. This was our first time stopping in, it was a good choice due to the outside garden that allowed our kiddos to run around in a safe space while we were "supposed" to eat. Garrett and Jewel chased out our friends this evening. It was very disgusting think before going to this establishment if you are a family trying to celebrate together. Our dear family friend had to travel to MD Anderson in Houston and after years of cancer treatments, she felt safe and positive enough to bring her grandchildren, daughter and son in law to have a good time. Which is usually a very hard visit because of testing. My friend has suffered from years of vigorous chemotherapy which sometimes caused her to have seizures. They traveled all the way north of Dallas and were treated HORRIBLY!!!!!!!! A person opened the gate to the play area so they decided to let their grandson - a toddler go play while they were close by and enjoying each other's company. After their food came out the waitress came to notify them that if they touched the gate to the play area they would have to close out their tab. First of all they didn't open the gate and THEY WERE DRINKING SWEET TEA?? Then some people came out and had their phone on speaker calling the police and asking for an officer to come remove them because they were refusing to leave? When my friend went to him and said she was confused, because no one had said that to them. The guy raised his voice and said THIS IS NOT A DISCUSSION! I did wish they would have added a little more slaw and sauce because the shrimps are huge and the ratios were a bit off. I've only been here once. Apparently it's pretty popular. I went during crawfish season in maybe May. It was insane, I believe $12 for 4lbs which is by far some of the cheapest anywhere near Houston. They were pretty good. They also had edemame as an add-on which was unique and really good. The server was really friendly. I went on a weekday, I think a Monday, maybe early on a Friday with another friend. The place was pretty empty but the ambiance was overall alright. The biggest downside and I guess you should expect it but after paying $3/lb for crawfish it was $8+ each for a shot of some of the cheapest stuff. I guess it has to balance out somehow. I have never had a problem like that and have been here multiple times as we live right down the road. He had previously treated friends poorly, but I just wanted to see for myself. Mind you... The staff was kind and check in in us often. Their food is fairly priced for the touristy area. We got some wings which were big and meaty. We got the general tso and Korean bbq. Both were good but tasted similar so wish we would have gotten different flavors. What a great place...I am under their spell. I had a great bartender, Shawna I believe , who offered some great coffee drink ideas and when it came, I didn't realize the drink came hot. So she turned it into an iced drink that worked even better. The vibe here is fun and chill. There are plenty of TVs and interesting things to look at. I adore the magic bus out front and all the skull and Beetlejuice art. I could look at these walls for days. Speaking of art there is a guy here behind the bar that goes by Blue who does a lot of gothic Alice in Wonderland type work that intrigued me. I may have to have him come paint my walls soon. Back in December close to the holidays, I went bar hopping in Kemah for the first time. It was a ton of fun and a different vibe compared to my usual trips to Houston to go out. Voodoo Hut was the first stop. It's a large bar with an indoor portion with plenty of TVs and a spacious outdoor patio. There's plenty of seating and cornhole. Part tiki bar, part sports bar, I'm always a fan of the creative drinks that are at the core of a tiki bar and Voodoo Hut was no different. Where has this place been every time I visit Kemah!? A new favorite for sure! Walking in, they have a covered bar area that is opened. TVs available to watch sports, live bands play during the day and night on weekends (depending). When you walk on the other side of the bar towards the back, it opens to an uncovered sitting area where there are chair hammocks right next to a few TVs and a food truck. You basically have all of your essentials. If you go further down the open patio they have an awesome little area to play cornhole and other little games. By the way.. they have giant checkers and jenga! Definitely recommended when you are visiting Kemah! Beers, games and game watching.. can't get any better on a beautiful day. read more

I rarely leave bad reviews, but my experience was just awful. From the moment I walked up to the bar, the bartender Garret was rude, and made me feel like I was bothering him just by ordering. Even though the bar wasn't that busy, he rolled his eyes and barely listened to our order. The drink I got was weak, poorly made, and honestly tasted like he just threw random ingredients together. To top it off, when I asked about sides for an order of crawfish he refused to answer any of my questions until I said I would actually be ordering some. Ended up ordering 5 lbs of crawfish to split for a table and we all agreed it was the worst crawfish we have ever eaten. The crawfish was super small, soggy and had no flavor.
