10/10 such a cozy vibe to eat at . Food was absolutely amazing . By far the best food in Porterville . I paid $30 with an $11 tip . I got 7 lumpia , bbq stick combo with both sides . As well as a soda . Workers are so nice and friendly . They also have other items in there including imported snacks . Perfect for dine in or to go . If dinning in make sure to go w no more then 4 people as it's a smaller building , but this makes it more cozy . Please go Try this place out . I feel like they definitely don't get enough love especially for having this good of food.

We had 2 of the 2 item plates, pork and chicken adobo, the sauce was good plus a coke and coconut water from the fridge. The pancit was decent and the lumpia was serviceable. Service was quick as we were the only 2 in the place at the time I really like supporting mom and pop business's but the price was a little steep at $32.

Very yummy!! Ordered BBQ sticks with rice and pancit. I'm a small girl who hardly ever finishes all her food but I tore my meal up! I know I'll be craving their food again soon

Yummy way better than I thought it would be

I've had Sarap from their food truck in the past but this was my first time at their brick and mortar store location! The portion sizing was generous and each entree was tasty without being too fatty or oily. I ordered the plate with Bistek ($1.50 additional charge), Ginataang Sitaw & Kalabasa, White Rice and Pancit. My wife got the bowl with garlic rice and pork liempo and we shared two pork lumpia. We also got Buko Pandan drinks and Sago Gulaman and thought both drinks were generously sized. We all enjoyed our food and will def be back to try the Sisig! This place is by far one of the best Filipino food places I've had. What stands out is the tastiness without it feeling overly heavy/greasy/fatty. The customer service is great, the workers really make you feel welcomed and ask how you're enjoying the food. The ambiance is really nice. From the mural, to the decor, to the chairs it's intentionally designed to have that Filipino feel. The air conditioning was blasting and fans were on to make us feel as comfy as possible while enjoying the food. I wish there was a Sarap closer to where I live, but it's a must visit every time I'm in Bakersfield.

It works like Panda Express, food is laid out and you order your food at the counter. I chose rice noodles, Chicken Afritada, and Pineapple Pork. The thin rice noodles were so good, with layer and layers of complex flavors. You need to try it. Thank me later. The Chicken Afritada is dark meat chicken chunks, potato, tomato, and mild spice. I loved it. I ordered pineapple pork because it was made with pork belly. The pineapple made the pork tender and melt in your mouth. So good. My friends all loved their food as well. If you are any where near coffee and olive, drop by for some really good Filipino food.

We tried this food truck at Gazebo Gardens. What a cute set-up. Now for Naynay's truck review- I…read moredon't know if I was spoiled or what, but I grew up eating Filipino food at friends' houses and it was so much better than this. Naynay's lumpia were nice and crispy but just didn't have that delicious flavor I remember. The sweet chili sauce was good and it helped with the so-so flavor. Where I was really disappointed was the pancit. Yucky. :( It didn't have the right vegetables and waaay too much cilantro on top. I tried putting the soy sauce mixture on top but that didn't even help. The worst part was that we waited a really long time for our food. Numbers were called out of order and other people waiting for their food were looking around to see if others were waiting too. My husband ordered first at Naynay's and then went over to another truck to order Korean tacos. The tacos were ready super fast and we were trying to eat all the food together but while waiting for Naynay's the tacos started getting cold so we ended up eating them and even then we still waited quite a while before our food from Naynay's was done. Overall, just not a good experience with Naynay's, which is sad because they're the whole reason I wanted to go check out the food truck night.

Since I am not familiar with Filipino food she kindly answered my many questions. We ordered the Pancit Canton and the BBQ Pork Skewers. Our dishes were freshly prepared and appealing to the eye. The Pancit Canton is a tasty noodle dish with vegetables and chicken. The BBQ pork Skewers were marinated in a sauce that contained the 'famous' banana ketchup, a well loved Filipino condiment. They were sweet, tender and moist. The ribs have a delicious garnish of pickled papaya, carrots & peppers. Delish! The dishes were attractively plated and of generous portions. Max's is well known for their Sarap-to-the-bones. A signature dish of fried chicken we will definitely be going back to try. Soft rock plays in the background, the restaurant is attractive, bright and clean. Every 1st & 3rd Friday they host Karaoke, if you are so inclined. They are good for groups and Family friendly.

There was a lot more staff on site so it was a very speedy process to pick what I want and check out. The reason why I'm leaving this at three Stars is because none of the workers are friendly or welcoming. You would think at least one of them would be. Every time I ask What something is or what it's comprised of I get a stare from them that makes me feel like I'm dumb for asking! I am not Filipino so yes, I do have questions about dishes served because I am curious and inquisitive lol I think the pricing is a little high here. I got a piece of pork belly which wasn't that big and weighed about a pound and they charged me $21 for it. They didn't flavor or season it so it was pretty blend and I honestly don't think it was worth such a steep cost I do enjoy the lumpia, the protein sticks, and a couple other things here, but the lack of customer services deters me.
