Coconut Milk Thai Ice Tea
Stephanie L.

Was craving Thai food and heard a lot about this quaint hidden gem. We didn't know what to expect and to our surprise the experience was actually very pleasant. The little spot was sunk back in the corner of the Visalia Brewing Company, right past the bar. You order at the counter and you can sit anywhere in the bar. The music was loud but it didn't bother me too much as every song took me back to my high school days! We order the spring rolls and they were big and the dipping sauce packed a spicy punch which I was not expecting. The chicken pad Thai was good yet I was hoping for a lightly different flavor but still good. We added fried rice and that too was yummy. And lastly we order Thai ice tea and to our delight they offered us the option for coconut milk instead. I will say it was pretty sweet but it helped to defuse the heat of the spring rolls dipping sauce. Ohhh and one last thing...the prices were GREAT!!!!!! We will definitely be back.

The trifectaaaaa! Lao, thai, and Vietnamese food?! Say less, I'm in. Located inside of VBC, towards the back you will find the counter to order. Portion sizes are generous and you can share; not to mention very affordable. I would say cash is the preferred payment method but they do offer Zelle, Venmo, Apple Pay and cash app. Service was good. Food did take some time to come out but just grab a drink and chit chat and by the time you know it, the food will be there. They offer spice level 1-5 and we got everything a 2-3 and it was flavorful and not overly spicy. chicken and rice to start us off. 10/10 Delicious, hot, and the sauce on the side was very flavorful. Would honestly say it's better than lady's chicken and rice and I love that place. Spicy chicken noodles and pad thai. Packed with flavor and made with love. If you're in the area I highly recommend this place for some good food. Will be back and try different things next time.

Stir Fry and Spicy Noodles

Been searching for a good replacement Thai restaurant since we left our hometown, and this is the best we've found in Visalia. Great flavor, good portions and good service. The location isn't ideal if you're looking for a quiet sit-down spot, but it's absolutely worth it for takeout. We got the stir fry and spicy noodles, both at 5/5 heat. My wife and I are spice heads--especially when it comes to Thai food--so while it had a decent kick, we might ask for 6/5 spice next time. Looking forward to trying the curry and other dishes.

The restaurant was tucked at the back of a bar. Authentic Thai food. Very flavorful. Price was reasonable.

Really good food just takes over 45 minutes just to receive your food. It's so crowded because it's in a bar.

Interestingly there was only one employee working when we visited and I watched in amazement as she took orders and prepared everything. Our drinks took 25 minutes to complete and we were the first group in line. *Mochi Donut: there were seasonal flavors and the employee was kind enough to explain the different flavors as the names were a bit abstract. I opted for the spring donut which was white chocolate and matcha. The texture was the best I've tried. Perfectly bouncy in the center with a light exterior. It wasn't too oily nor sweet and the glaze was subtle. Despite the description, I couldn't really differentiate the white chocolate and matcha from a standard glaze. *Spring Fruit Tea: described as a passionfruit and rose tea. Disappointedly, neither flavor was prominent. The tea was steeped well but this was missing some brightness. *Creme Brulee: very sweet but fragrant. This was rich and milky with strong notes of burnt cream. However, we got less sugar for this and it was still too sweet. If there was an option to lower the sugar even more, I would opt for that. The milk based drinks tasted better than the fruit ones. If I was in a rush, I would stick to the donuts but drinks were pretty good if you don't mind the wait.

I ordered the charbroiled pork Bánh Mì with an extra side of Pickled Daikon/Carrots. The Bánh Mì consisted of mayo, pâté, and pickled vegetables, thinly sliced charbroiled pork on a crusty baguette. I highly recommend this sandwich. I called my order in and it was conveniently ready when I arrived. The restaurant offers on-line ordering as well. There were several different menu items that I want to try on my next visit. Staff were friendly and restaurant appeared to be clean despite the lunch rush. Please support this small local business.

Small local business, so please support LOCAL! Their food was exceptional. The shrimp spring rolls were light but filling and they provide both a peanut sauce (actually can taste the peanut in the sauce (I think they may use peanut butter) and a traditional vinegar fish sauce dip. The wife ordered the vermicelli with sliced pork. It looks like a deconstructed version of a spring roll = soooo good and I got the dry noodle with garlicy fried chicken. The chicken was perfectly fried and crispy while the noodles were lightly seasoned and cooked in a sweet fish sauce. DONT OVER LOOK THIS PLACE! ITS A MUST TRY!!! BTW: the owners are super sweet too! There was an elderly gentleman who was down on his luck, who came inside. He asked two young girls who were dining for money just for drink (100 degree day). The young cashier didn't miss a beat and treated the man with kindness gave him the drink he ordered plus made him a large to-go water and then asked if he had eaten today. He said, "no". Then a short conversation started from the back and the owners fed the man. Me and my wife called the cashier over and told her we'll pay for his food but the owner kindly declined. Before we left we had a nice conversation with the owner and hopefully next time in town my wife can do some return business with a catering order. AGAIN you would rarely see this happen at a chain restaurant so this is why we try support small local businesses...and how we become loyal customers!!!
