The two people working there were so nice and helpful. Food took a while but please be patient, it is so worth it. We got the pad see ew, pad Thai, and Laos papaya salad. So so delicious! I could not stop eating the papaya salad even though it was way too spicy for me. The pad see ew is one of the best I have ever had. The noodles were perfectly chewy and soft with a great flavor from the wok. I am so sad I'm just visiting because this would've definitely been my regular Thai place. read more

Once you walk in, there's a small window to the kitchen where you order at the counter, grab a number, and wait for your food. Everything appears to be made fresh to order, so it took a little while for my meal to come out -- but the wait was definitely worth it. The Pad Thai was delicious, with the perfect balance of sweetness and salt. A squeeze of lime added a nice zest, though honestly, it was flavorful enough on its own. The Thai iced tea was a bit light on milk for my taste, but still enjoyable. Since it's inside VBC, you can grab a beer while you wait -- which would've been nice -- but I was on my lunch break and had to head back to work. Downtown Visalia only has street parking, so finding a spot can be a bit challenging. Overall, a solid lunch spot, especially if you're not in a rush. read more

Was craving Thai food and heard a lot about this quaint hidden gem. We didn't know what to expect and to our surprise the experience was actually very pleasant. The little spot was sunk back in the corner of the Visalia Brewing Company, right past the bar. You order at the counter and you can sit anywhere in the bar. The music was loud but it didn't bother me too much as every song took me back to my high school days! We order the spring rolls and they were big and the dipping sauce packed a spicy punch which I was not expecting. The chicken pad Thai was good yet I was hoping for a lightly different flavor but still good. We added fried rice and that too was yummy. And lastly we order Thai ice tea and to our delight they offered us the option for coconut milk instead. I will say it was pretty sweet but it helped to defuse the heat of the spring rolls dipping sauce. Ohhh and one last thing...the prices were GREAT!!!!!! We will definitely be back. read more

Portion sizes are generous and you can share; not to mention very affordable. I would say cash is the preferred payment method but they do offer Zelle, Venmo, Apple Pay and cash app. Service was good. Food did take some time to come out but just grab a drink and chit chat and by the time you know it, the food will be there. They offer spice level 1-5 and we got everything a 2-3 and it was flavorful and not overly spicy. chicken and rice to start us off. 10/10 Delicious, hot, and the sauce on the side was very flavorful. Would honestly say it's better than lady's chicken and rice and I love that place. Spicy chicken noodles and pad thai. Packed with flavor and made with love. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I see my friend Jesus running full speed at Israel. My friend tackled him so hard and kicked his butt six ways to Sunday. A very awkward horrible interaction. First of all the kitchen is actually in a dive bar. When I approached the window the young kid just stared at me. Finally someone came to take my order. After about 25 mins I still haven't received my chicken and rice and spicy shrimp noodles. I went up to ask for a refund and the lady yelled just 2 more minutes. My chicken came out and it was dried overcooked drumsticks. I was informed the spicy noodles were going to take longer and asked if I wanted a refund. I said yes. He handed me back $18 cash. I was already wanting to leave so I was like whatever. I was charged $29.34 on my card. The chicken and rice shouldn't had been no more than $10 after taxes. I was shorted a few bucks. Been searching for a good replacement Thai restaurant since we left our hometown, and this is the best we've found in Visalia. Great flavor, good portions and good service. The location isn't ideal if you're looking for a quiet sit-down spot, but it's absolutely worth it for takeout. We got the stir fry and spicy noodles, both at 5/5 heat. My wife and I are spice heads--especially when it comes to Thai food--so while it had a decent kick, we might ask for 6/5 spice next time. Chan's Thai Cuisine has this cool hidden-gem vibe. It's tucked in the back of a bar, making it feel like an "if you know, you know" spot. That part set a great first impression. We ordered the combination pho, the chicken pho, and the pad thai. Flavor-wise, everything was wonderful. The broth was rich and comforting, the pad thai was well-balanced, and the prices felt very reasonable for the quality. Customer service was also excellent. Friendly, welcoming, and attentive. That said, the biggest drawback was the wait time. We waited about 40 minutes for our food, and the portions were fine, not small and not large, but average. If the portions had been generous, the long wait would have felt genuinely worth it. But when you wait that long and the portions are just okay, it kind of puts things into perspective. I really wanted to love this place because so much of it worked. Great flavors, fair pricing, and awesome service. Unfortunately, the long wait combined with average portion sizes makes it hard for me to see myself coming back. Because of that, and only that, I'm landing at 3 stars. We honestly didn't wait too long for our food to come out. Overall for the food, I would give it a 8/10. I didn't care too much for the Pad Thai due to the strong tamarind taste but everything else was amazing. Highly suggest trying their Lao Style Papaya Salad if you're feeling adventurous on taste. I really wanted to love and support this place but after traveling all day I was really looking forward to a quick and delicious Thai dinner. There were 3 parties ahead of me and I ordered a papaya salad appetizer and a chicken pad see ew. It ended up taking 50 minutes for me to even get the papaya salad. An hour for the pad see ew. I don't think I've ever waited that long for Thai food and I really wish the guy would have told me it would take that long. The bar was blasting music (which is great if you are here for that environment) but not so great as a solo traveler waiting that long for food. It would have been nice to at least received an apology for an hour wait. Papaya salad was good but pad see ew was very underwhelming. $30 and an hour later, it was a very disappointing experience. read more
