Buyers beware! Don't let the Two Marine brand lead you to believe they are ethical, honorable and trustworthy. I am a US Army 20-year combat veteran. I entered into a moving contract with Two Marines to pick up, store, and deliver my household goods from Lorton, VA to Stafford, VA. The scenario included Two Marines Moving picking up my household goods for storage o/a 3 March 2022. I was selling my home in Lorton and moving into a new home in Stafford, VA. The home in Stafford, VA was not ready for move in until 31 May 2022. When Two Marines delivered my household goods, there were missing and broken property and even items from other people. I filed a damage claim and Two Marines Moving agreed to pay $700.00 for the damages and missing items, which was far less than actual loss. Problem: After agreeing to pay for my claim in August of 2022 and to this date 29 Jan 2023, Two Marines Moving refuses to communicate with me or send my refund. They will rip you off when it comes to claims with lots of excuses why they haven't sent the check.

    Original quote

I am so disappointed and angry with this veteran owned company. I had a decent experience with Two Marines in 2019 when I hired them to help offload a truck from a DITY move. I hired them in 2022 when I moved off base to a house we purchased. I was quoted 3 movers for 3 hours to do the job and $1015. I have a 3 bedroom. The DAY BEFORE the move they called to tell me that the person who gave me the quote was "a problem and no longer with the company" and my move would actually take longer and be more expensive. Because I had to vacate my on base house, I had no choice but to keep these movers. They offered to add two additional movers and the 3 mover rate which I appreciated. The day of the move they were scheduled to start at 9 and showed up 30 minutes late and non of them were able to get on base so I had to go through the sponsorship process and we didn't get to my house until 10:45. One of them stunk of weed and I'm surprised he got on. These were the slowest movers I've ever seen. There was no hustle, not urgency, nothing. It took them 5 hours to load my 3 bedroom house on a 26 foot truck. It was about a 30 minute drive to the new house and took an additional 2 hours to offload. At that point my wife and kids were home and our new house was a disaster of boxes and unwrapped furniture everywhere. I had to get my 3 and 5 r old kids bedrooms ready for them to go to bed as they were finishing offloading at 7pm. All in all it took 10 hours of my day. They busted a hole in the hallway drywall at my old house, broke plates and bowls, dropped my cloth headboard on the wet, rainy driveway, broke glasses, busted the corner of my fully wrapped nightstand, and broke the cup holders off my peloton. Hire at your own risk but know you will not get what you're quoted. My final bill was 1000 more than I was quoted. Next step is a call to the BBB.

I'd like to share my experience with you so you can avoid making the same mistake. Two Marines Moving seemed very organized, exacting in their quote, and had good follow up before the move. Plus, I wanted to support our returned troops. But that is where the professionalism ended. One item was broken while moving it around in the truck, before we left for the new house. The other items were damaged in route. Broken glass, broken wood furniture, dinged walls and scrapped floors at both locations; the damages are over $4K. It was gross negligence. Here's how they get away without financial responsibility. When you make your claims they point to a valuation guideline put forth by the Federal Government, which is pennies ($0.60 per lb.). So, if they loose your $10,000 diamond earrings, they say they are only worth $0.60. That's all you'll get: 60 pennies. I tried to explain that they didn't take proper precautions and care to avoid unreasonable damages, but they refused to acknowledge that or negotiate reasonable compensation. Don't hire them for your move. It will cost you a lot more than you plan. My wife's sentimental, heirloom display cabinet, from her dead grandmother: gone.

Like the idea of helping fellow veterans so used them to move me from an apartment to a house. In 50 years of moving cross county and overseas in the military and federal government I have never ever experienced such a horrendous move. It's almost like they went out their way to destroy things. Hoe do you break a solid wood china cabinet? They were two hours late arriving, brought a truck that was too small so had to wait an hour for a second truck to come. they started at 1100 and did not finish until 0130!! They spent 2-3 hours shrink wrapping items that didn't need to be shrink wrapped and didn't wrap others that should have been. Since their services are based on time they front load it by doing this to ensure the minimum is met. because once they hit 4 hours they stopped Shrink wrapping. They tore the fabric on a chaise lounge. Beware and use at your own risk! Then to get out of paying for damages they filed bankruptcy and are now operating again. They literally crushed a 34" box down to 19". The only reason my deceased mother's china survived is because after so many years moving I know how to pack. demolished a chest of drawers and tried to hide it. Bike lamps. To top that off they left my treadmill sitting on the lawn in the rain uncovered for an hour. If I could give zero stars I would. You couldn't pay me to let them move my things again.

I won't name names of other movers I've used and paid 30% more for less results. I have a 15 monitor work station that I am very hesitant about anyone touching let alone moving, but these guys handled it like a breeze, especially during a rainy day on top of everything else. I don't usually write reviews, but when a company EXCEEDS my expectations, it's a duty to let others KNOW. I would want the same as well, especially with so many moving companies out there and nightmare stories. These guys are LEGIT and DESERVE their reputation as a TOP PLAYER in the moving business. Prince Movers had the initial best rate and their hourly rate was great - far less than the other companies. Plus, they were able to move us on a Saturday. Our team was Carlos, Omar, Marvin, and Rafael. They showed up exactly on time, were polite, worked well together, and kept us fully informed of everything they were doing. One thing that was great is how they took time to prepare the home for the moving process, protecting floors, stairs, and other surfaces to make sure zero damage was done. Their wrapping of items was great - you can definitely tell that they care about protecting your items. Moving is always a pain, but Prince Movers and the team were awesome from the first quote to the final hand shakes with the team. I would recommend them to anybody and I will definitely use them again.

I worked with a different moving company 2 years ago that left me scarred for life with how rude and unprofessional they were. I ended up having to finish the job myself (moving my giant couch up four flights of stairs), so when I knew I was moving again, I did my due diligence and sought out a few quotes. Another company quoted me almost $800 and required a 3 hour minimum for the job!! $800 seemed steep and I knew the job wouldn't take that long... Along came Bookstore Movers who quoted me a reasonable $470 minimum for two hours of work and a maximum of $680 for 3.5 hours of work (price breakdown: $140 per hour with 2 hour min. plus a $190 truck fee). I received a quote within a few hours of requesting it. There was no deposit required and the date was booked. I received detailed emails leading up to the move about FAQs, tips for a seamless move, and the names of my crew including contact info for the crew lead. Abdul (crew lead), Niiwayo "Y.O", and Milly were SO fast and friendly. They wrapped every single item with care in drop cloths and got to moving immediately. Despite the 90 degree heat and a total of five flights of stairs, the job was finished in 2 hours. I was SO impressed. I was so traumatized by my last move that I literally had to walk away while they moved the couch in but before I knew it, I got a text from my boyfriend telling me they had fit it through the door and our living room was all set up. I was so relieved and happy to work with them. If and when we move again, (hopefully not anytime soon, lol), I will 100% be contacting Bookstore Movers... and you should too!

First, allow me to express my gratitude to this amazing company and their professional staff. The team consisted of four movers who, upon arrival, walked through the premises to fully understand the scope of the job before getting started. They listened carefully and worked with precision and determination to ensure our move went smoothly. Every member of the team treated us with respect and inspired confidence in their work. They didn't allow me to lift a single thing -- not even a trash bag I had put together. I am so impressed that I can't wait to tell my friends, and I'm sure my husband will be recommending them to his coworkers as well. The movers even offered helpful advice on furniture placement, which made perfect sense after careful consideration. We have purchased our forever home, but if you are looking for a reliable, affordable, and professional moving crew, I highly recommend giving EZ Moving and Storage a call. Mr. Petro reviewed my inventory list, calculated the distance from point A to point B, and provided a more-than-fair quote with no added charges. The price he quoted was exactly what we paid. None of our items were damaged. In fact, they assembled our beds better than the company we purchased them from! I apologize for the length of this review, but that reflects just how pleased we are with this company. Job well done, and thank you for helping make our house feel like home. Gainesville , VA to Bend, OR: So, I'm going to start this…read morereview by saying I was immersed in quotes from 2 nationwide, (and they hate being called that) "brokers" for two weeks prior to looking at this company. I had a first quote from a "binding" company (for 10.5k lbs) which was on the very high side, and could have gone higher, if the local movers "felt" they were doing more work than was estimated. Hmmm, not comforting at all. They could actually stop the packing process. The quote could not have gone less than originally estimated. I had a second quote that was "non-binding" that was a full $6K less for a thousand pounds less (for 9.5k lbs) that could have gone higher based on the weight at the scale pre-load and post load. Both companies are under the Sirva umbrella of companies and would be well recognized by name (but if you did a yelp review search they rate at 2.5 or less). I just had an uneasy feeling about both when they each estimated upwards (and the second company by $4k) after I questioned their pricing models. This is what really had me concerned: They don't like to be called "brokers" even though they farm out the loading, the trucking, and the unloading. Additionally, you are often loaded with other customers along the way, which could result in damage (when off and on loading at the warehouses) and other obvious concerns when multiple people/companies are looking at and handling "your stuff". The latter part of this equation is what concerned me most. I have NEVER done a coast to coast move on my own, and had zero assistance from anyone in my family, plus being from the east coast I do not innately trust others. So, two days before I needed to make a decision, I "yelped" "nationwide movers" and Matthew's Nationwide Moving popped up. Lo and behold, they had a 5 star rating from DC to Bend, OR. I'm like, "no way, that's AI", but I left an email and a voicemail and thus the journey began. I got a call from the company, got emails from the company, got a call from Matthew, the owner, and in two days he was at my place to give me a quote. Jessica is who I dealt with mostly for the communications. The moving quote was straightforward, but the packing (labor and materials was not) so I called and emailed to get a "good enough for government work" estimate for a house my size and weight. I felt comfortable enough because even if it exceeded the labor and materials it would still be less than the other estimates of the two established companies I was pondering for over two weeks. One other thing: each of the two other companies required a $200 deposit- which was no biggie in a move of this magnitude; but they required full payment prior to either the truck unloading, or the truck even actually showing up to unload. What business and what a dummy you would be to pay for something either not yet delivered or not yet received? That is not proper business protocol and something that really made me think twice. Matthew's Nationwide Moving asked for a $200 deposit to book , and nothing until after they unpacked and made sure everything was delivered as agreed upon. That's what sealed the deal for me. Fast forward to 4 weeks of prep for me and the last 7 days of packing, moving into the truck, and delivering, (we drove for 5 days with our cat George- so definitely traumatizing). Obviously they drove the same distance! I can say that it was all and more than I could ever had hoped for in a team of utmost professional and truly caring men who fulfilled my husband's dream of moving to this new place I now call home. That I know the people who packed me out, drove the load, and packed me in is and was the guarantee that sold me on this life altering journey. Matthew, Tyrone, and TJ- (and the others) you are my heroes. Thank you for helping me with this very emotional and physical transition to my new life. I don't know how you do it- but somehow, you have done it, and I am so happy to have placed my trust in you. End to end- you did it. Thank you, again!
