With my sister selling her house on Gibson Island, and with a very short turnaround to get some of her furniture, I found myself in a scramble to arrange movers from Gibson Island to Baltimore County. TMAAT was recommended and they did not disappoint! I called and spoke to Renada on a Wednesday to arrange movers for a week later. She was very patient and quickly walked me through the steps, took my inventory and answered questions. After some discussion with family, I called back to confirm and spoke with Derek who was just as professional. He suggested I might need three men instead of two and explained the pricing was basically the same. Upon receiving the emailed quote/pre-move confirmation, I noticed the starting address was incorrect. I called on a Saturday and Makayla updated the address while I was on the phone and promptly emailed it to me for signature. The day before the move I called to confirm everything and was told everything was set. The morning of the move, Jerrell called me with an ETA of 55 minutes. He, along with George and Marcus, arrived exactly on time and ready to help. All three were professional and very friendly, upbeat and positive for an early morning, and agreeable to wearing booties in the house per the real estate agent since it had been raining for two days. I admit they had bug eyes when I pointed out extremely heavy patio furniture, but they got right to work and were careful and efficient. They wrapped mattresses and patio heaters, were very careful with artwork and followed instructions of where to place the items as they took them off the truck in Baltimore County. I had paid $100 deposit prior to the move, and this amount was included in my final payment, which was shockingly the exact amount they quoted me in my estimate. No upcharges or extra fees. I honestly expected about $200 more in fees since I was right at the 6-hour deadline. I appreciated their honesty and integrity with my belongings and my money and time. They made moving day way less stressful and a positive experience due to their timeliness, professionalism and kindness, not to mention their lighthearted and friendly attitudes. I would definitely use this company again and hope to get these THREE MEN AND A TRUCK: Jerrell, George and Marcus. I'll be blunt: fuck this company. I'd give 0 stars or negative if I could. I should've read more reviews prior to hiring these incompetent people. Now, reading the other reviews, I feel like I dodged a bullet in a way. I'm actually flabbergasted this company is still functioning or allowed to operate. I plan to complain to BBB. To preface: I honestly don't even know what location my movers were coming out of. The paperwork was inconsistent. My paperwork listed Crofton, MD, but the individual I spoke with over the phone said they just have their Red Branch location now, so I assumed that's where they'd be coming from. I wouldn't trust any/either of the Maryland locations at all though. I booked a move roughly two weeks ago. A SMALL, very SIMPLE move. Just about 1 bedroom worth of stuff to a studio apartment 30 mins away (Dundalk to Towson). I spoke with Chantel on the phone and she was relatively nice and helpful. I paid a $100 deposit. As the move approached I received numerous calls, voicemails and texts to confirm my move. I confirmed with them over the phone. My new building is a high rise and I had to reserve a loading dock and freight elevator and the reservations are 3-hour time blocks. I blocked off 11am-2pm at the loading dock, informed the movers of this, and they assured me they would be at my place to begin the move between 8:30 and 10am-ish. At 9am I got a call from Two Men and the guy said he wanted to be "really transparent with me" and informed me that he had a "bunch of guys with the flu called out sick" and he would be unable to perform my move today. He asked if I could reschedule my move for 4 DAYS LATER on CHRISTMAS EVE. Are you fucking kidding me??! All my belongings were in boxes, I had slept on the couch because I took apart my bed and moved my mattress (in order to make the move easier for the movers), and I had nowhere to sleep for another 4 nights, nor any clothes, shower items, etc because everything was IN BOXES READY TO MOVE. What the hell?! I had this reservation for 2 weeks!! He then said he could do it tomorrow (so somehow he went from "I can do this 4 days from now" to "I can do this tomorrow" ??). He said he'd do it at a discount. I asked how large of a discount? He said he couldn't tell me LOL Are you kidding me? You're offering me a discount but can't tell me how much, what a joke. Unacceptable. At that point I was 1) running late to my loading dock reservation time, 2) very upset and angry, and 3) had a VERY bad feeling about these movers and no longer trusted anything they said or had to offer me. It was so obvious they were lying blatantly to my face lmao They really think I'm fucking stupid. I don't believe for one second that "all your guys are sick." Boo fucking hoo. Not my problem. Hire more employees so you can cover for the ones who are out sick. I am PAYING YOU to do YOUR JOB! How do I even know your guys are "sick" for real. I doubt they're even actually sick. They were probably just out late drinking the previous night or whatever and called in "sick." Whether they're sick or not is not the point. The point is that I DO NOT CARE, I paid for a service and I expect that service to be carried out. I got so pissed, I didn't even bother to call these idiots back. I am lucky to have some very supportive, very kind friends who stepped up for me and we performed the move ourselves in roughly 4 hours; myself, one man, and my (currently pregnant) best friend. To be clear: my PREGNANT best friend (who can't lift heavy objects at the moment) was more helpful than these ""two men."" Thanks to my friend's help, I completed my move without this shitty company, and I also got my deposit back (after my friend advocated for me and demanded it back). DO NOT HIRE. DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE LIE TO YOU. DO NOT LET THEM LEAVE YOU HIGH AND DRY. DO NOT TRUST. I truly don't understand how they can expect people to simply reschedule a move the day of. A move is a pre-planned, pre-arranged ordeal. I don't need to explain this but many moves have a time constraint: my time constraint was just a loading dock, but often times people absolutely HAVE to have all their belongings out of a place by a certain day and time or their stuff could simply be thrown in the street. Sometimes emergencies happen and people have to move out FAST (for safety reasons, for their kids, so they can start a new job right away, etc). I'm lucky I wasn't currently in a situation like that, but it's unacceptable for a moving company to cancel on you last minute or not show up when your whole life revolves around your move and your housing situation. I am ultimately so glad these people never touched any of my belongings. My friends and I used our collective strength, motivation, savvy, and hustle to complete my move with one platform dolly and 2 SUV's. Way more expensive than the quote, which you better save because it will be gone if you try to review it later for accuracy. You don't just pay for the job, you also pay for drive time. Timer starts when they leave the facility and ends when they park. How do you know if they stop or detour to drag out the clock? You don't. You also pay in full before they leave, how am I paying for travel time if they're still here? How are you calculating time for a drive you didn't finish and that customers cannot monitor? I paid $55 for gas, they drove 5 miles with my stuff. I was charged for insurance coverage that I refused, waiting for a refund. Why did I pay if I refused? Because I wasn't given an itemized receipt until over an hour after I paid, which is when I saw the overbilling. I saw the high charge and asked the mover if my deposit was applied and he said I'll get my deposit back in a few days, which was found to be a lie after speaking to management. It's giving "charge a bill and tailor the receipt after". Also watch those initials and signatures because I didn't sign anything after the move, yet "my initials" were there attesting that the truck was empty and that it all went well. They didn't break anything, but $500 to move 2 pieces of furniture 5 miles in 90 minutes (charged for 2.75 hours) on a weekday is criminal. I hired this company to not only junk removal but also to move me to my new home. I am68 and in a wheelchair. The first pair of movers were specifically asked to bring all bags and boxes, they did not bring all the bags and boxes and the only furniture they brought was my hospital bed.I called the office and spoke to Terri, she was wonderful! But the second pair lost my Mom's ashes, they did not bring my box of medicine, did not bring my Dad's albums and the bags of new items for my new home! When I called again I spoke to a rude man who said because the movers saw roaches and field mice droppings he wouldn't send another truck! Then the man said because it was the third time I would have to pay again! Now which was it? Can't send men out because of the roaches or because they wanted more money. If they could not do the job right why would I pay for a third time! I am so hurt and angry! Update: I called the number you provided days ago and left a message. Of course, no one has called me back. This whole experience is a bait and switch. I paid for full valuation and they will not answer me about repairing my many broken items. They even promised to reimburse me 50 dollars for the service call to get an estimate from their repair company (who they insisted I use even though they had bad reviews) and thet won't even pay the 50 dollar service call fee that they promised to reimburse. Stay far away from this company. Their movers have terrible attitude, they dissemble furniture and don't reassemble, they lose hardware. They promise to fix things and don't pay and even cheat me out of the service fee (they probably get a referral fee for that too). They don't even take items on the inventory or fill up the trucks I pay for. This whole company is crooked and are absolute thieves. **UPDATE** I received a call from the operations manager that oversees that location and he completely rectified the situation. He was professional and explained in depth what the issue was. He took ownership of the communication issues that occurred on the day of our move. I greatly appreciate him taking the time. I have used two men and a truck before and didn't have any issues, so I do recommend their services. However, I don't recommend using this location specifically. **original review** The poor rating is for management and NOT the movers. The movers were extremely helpful and great. When I originally did my estimate and quote I put a good amount of items down. My partner and I had just bought a house and were moving into it. We ended up renting a uhaul and moved a good amount to save money. I attempted to call the office multiple times (11) to see about changing the quote and updating it so that we could get two movers instead on three. I finally got ahold of someone the day of the move and she said there wasn't anything they could do day of. I was like alright it is what it is. She called me back about 2 minutes later saying she spoke to the Ops manager and they gave the go ahead for two movers. (The difference on the weekend is about 200-300 dollars for 4 hours) When the movers showed up there was three of them. I was confused so I mentioned it to them and they ended up actually calling the ops manager. I ended up getting on the phone and speaking with two of them and they both said they couldn't do anything because it was day of. When I brought up that they gave the go ahead DAY OF they acted confused and it took two of them to tell me "oh well sorry." Being in the military I don't usually care about things not going to plan, but considering that it was their error and did literally nothing to correct it shows their character. I have lived all over the United States, moved from one coast to the other, and various points in between, and have had a wide variety of moving experiences; this will undoubtedly go down as the absolute worst moving experience I have ever had. I need to preface this by saying that the move occurred in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic and for that reason these movers had every right to be concerned about their safety and the safety of their families. Having said that, I had scheduled the move and paid a deposit weeks before it was categorized as a pandemic and I kept in constant contact with my account rep as the outbreak spread and the situation worsened. The week leading up to the move, I called her at least twice, just to make sure the move was still on, given what was occurring with the virus. I was assured each time that the move was still on and that their movers would arrive with disinfecting wipes, facemasks, and the like. I was more concerned about them than I was for us, because we had already been self-isolating for the week prior. Again, I was assured everything was going to proceed as planned. The day of the move arrived and the four men from TMAAT proceed to move about 1/3 of the furniture at which point I am advised by their foreman that they are going to deliver this truckload and then they are going to leave. In complete shock, I asked why and he proceeds to tell me that my house is too dirty for him and his men to work in in the middle of a pandemic. I could not believe what I was hearing. At the house where they delivered the one load, I attempted to reason with the guy but I could see there was no changing his mind so I wasn't even going to try. My mother, who lives with us, had some choice words for them before they put the furniture where I asked them to in the new house - obviously that house was acceptably neat! - before they completely walked off the job. I spoke with Jake, their manager, who completely backed up this decision made by his men. I could tell there was no convincing him, either, even though I tired. "We have been social distancing for a week, so yes, the house is probably a little messier than usual, but if I had to have the house cleaned to a certain standard before your men could proceed, why wasn't this communicated to me in advance?" Aside from saying he had seen pictures of the home and echoing his foreman, Jake had no acceptable response to this and advised that he was returning my deposit and cancelling the job. When I called the account rep I had been dealing with the entire time, she was bright and bubbly and asked how everything was going! "Clearly you haven't heard that your crew walked off the job." She was completely oblivious, not to mention powerless to offer any remedy or solution. I was assigned to the coronavirus task force at my job, so I was (and still am) taking this pandemic very seriously. Together with my colleagues, I am responsible for the health and safety of residents in close to 10,000 apartment units in Washington DC, to say nothing of our almost 500 employees. The safety, health, and well-being of the public, especially service workers who are required to work during this time, was very much at the forefront of my mind for weeks preceding this move. This is the reason I was in constant contact with TMAAT leading up to the move. While I was not charged for the few hours of work the crew put in, I was basically left to complete the rest of it alone, while in a complete state of shock and embarrassment and humiliation at the state of my home. I would have much rather paid for the service I had originally intended on receiving. I was a repeat customer, insanely happy with my experience with Two Men and a Truck, from the BALTIMORE location in 2017. The GAMBRILLS/CROFTON location was the franchise dispatched to do my move this year(2018). When I made the initial appointment, I told the estimator the difference in size between this current house and the one I moved from a year ago. I was sure to mention it was 1000 sq ft bigger, and that last year they couldn't fit everything in the truck coming out of a 900sq ft house. When this year's crew arrived, it was only one truck, and it appeared smaller than the one they sent the year prior. I specifically asked for the biggest they had. One of the movers even agreed with me it wasn't their biggest truck. While not as fast as the crew from Baltimore last year, this crew was very friendly and respectful. After about 2.5 hours, it was determined they would not be able to fit everything in the truck...I called and had to argue the fact I was clear with the estimator how much space I had at this location and how last year's smaller house didn't fit in their biggest truck. But after some back and forth, they finally dispatched another truck, over an hour after the 1st crew left. After waiting another 1.5-2 hours, the second crew arrived. The best part? One of them confirmed himself that had he packed the 1st truck, EVERYTHING would have fit. Fast forward past a lot poor care of most of my items, 17 pieces to be exact that are now damaged, this location tells me that I have to pay the "full price". After a formal complaint to their corporate, they had the audacity to finally write me back after a few days of silence saying they'll discount my total but also it would absolve them from repairing the damages. I feel bad for the movers themselves, because their operations center is the reason they didn't get rated. Had they not been so terrible to deal with, the movers would have received their stars despite the damage, simply because they were so friendly. Coming from the military, I've moved MULTIPLE times. My review will echo several of the other reviews left for this franchise... clearly a PATTERN of problems with this branch. I highly recommend anyone interested in this company for moving look at BBB ratings and these reviews. Basically, there is nothing said upfront or in the contract that all items must be in like new condition. Within the first 15 minutes of the movers arriving there were issues. Ryan was in "charge" of the crew and was upset that there was an upright piano to move, which I definitely had listed in my inventory. When we walked outside, I had shed items, and outdoor items. Ryan was upset that there were dried grass clippings on the side of an item and told me I had to clean it before they could take it. Ryan told me that they wouldn't move anything in one of my rooms until I cleaned everything. Ryan stated that he isn't sure what the stain is on the side of the fireplace that it could be "cat p***." There was NO cat urine, I would NEVER ask someone to handle something covered in cat urine. HIGHLY insulting. I had a stand-alone box freezer filled up with tons of food in it like Omaha steaks. Later in the move he broke the freezer and left the broken freezer and all the food inside of it to rot for me to figure out what to do with it. I had a cat condo that was like new, nothing was frayed or stained... wouldn't move it, it had "pet stuff" that he wouldn't touch (I posted pics of these). There was a dresser, cat condo, wheel barrel.... There were so many items he refused, such as PATIO tables. They said, "you have items stored outside that you want us to move." Well, where else would you have PATIO furniture?? Inside?? Trey at the office of two men and a truck had texted me at the start of the move and said, "... Your complete satisfaction is our goal so should you have any questions or concerns throughout the day please contact me and I will address immediately..." I texted Trey that there were issues going on and that I wanted to talk but as the day progressed, I couldn't reach anyone. I found a bottle of water turned over on its side on the floor spilled everywhere! I also had a camera that was on a window sill so it was NOT on any furniture that they needed to move and it was on the floor and UNPLUGGED. Ryan then refused to move the bed, saying that there were too many parts and pieces to the bed. He said they were done they weren't moving more. Ryan then proceeded to YELL at me in my own home. Where would I sleep tonight without the bed?? Ryan responded, "that isn't my problem." At this point I texted Trey again, "call me ASAP" and he didn't call or text. I couldn't get a hold of anyone to help. Finally, someone called, and I explained how rude Ryan had been, he was cussing and yelling and refusing to move my bed which I need to sleep in tonight. The person on the phone said no we can move it. Ryan came back into my house and I told him that his boss says he can move the bed, and Ryan said, "well I am not." Ryan and his crew then abruptly left. They didn't finish loading all of my items, they left all the doors wide open, and left TRASH all around. I talked to Jake the manager who said Ryan is his BEST guy and that this is unheard of ... basically as if he didn't believe me but I see from other reviews this is COMMON. At the end of the move, they wanted me to pay and I refused. I said you haven't finished my move and you broke a ton of things so until you guys finish the job and let me know what we are going to do about all the damaged items I am not paying. Ryan said we won't leave until you pay and he proceeded to sit his sweaty self-down on my stairs, and his crew followed suit sitting everywhere in my new house. Eventually Ryan talked to Jake who said he would call me on Monday to work it out, so they all left. Monday 4pm I had heard nothing. They only called me back once when I was at work. I emailed corporate and left multiple messages. You only have 96 hours to report damage but yet they won't answer you in that time frame! They never apologized, won't address all of the broken/missing items until paid in FULL. I had over a dozen items broken, damaged or MISSING and this move was a LOCAL move (by THE "local moving experts"). They didn't wrap or pad any items either. But who would pay full price for this service? Over 2 months later they randomly decide to charge my credit card that I used for the deposit. They put through multiple payments, until they couldn't process more (unauthorized). Two Men and a Truck kept telling me that due to the pandemic they can't subject their men to unsanitary conditions. I am a nurse and having cat excrement (which was NOT around) has NOTHING to do with COVID, so quit using the pandemic as an excuse to get out of doing your job. Besides they never wore masks! I prefer to leave good reviews and acknowledge people for a job well done. However, I think it is best that I not sugar coat my experience. The movers worked hard, and they were concerned about not wasting my dime which I truly appreciate. However, there was a lot of damage done to my furniture and some damage to the floor of my last apartment. In response to me acknowledging there were scratches, I was told that I asked not to use padding and wrapping. I don't remember asking that. I do remember indicating that I did not need a box for my pictures. I also remember saying that I would not ask them to wrap my furniture with the stuff I had since they already provide everything. I don't remember it being verified that I asked to not have wrapping and padding especially given that one of my concerns was that my furniture not get scratched. I have had some past movers accidentally puncture a hole in the back of a bookcase and some minor scratches. Every mover I have worked with has always protected my furniture with padding whether it is U-Haul movers or some other mover, and I have moved a number of times. I don't remember this question ever being asked. Movers included protecting my furniture as part of the deal as a default. In any case, almost every piece of wood furniture was scratched. In most cases, I do not care. However, I do care about the 2 dressers and the bedframe as this was my grandparent's furniture. Given that I was told that I asked not to have padding/wrapping of my furniture, it makes sense as to why everything looks so scratched up. I am going to have to get this fixed. Also, 3 long scratches were left on the floor of my last apartment. Hopefully, the apartment was able to easily fix them without me having to pay additional costs (other than the deposit already left with them). If you use these guys, just make sure communication is clear on what you want and verify with the movers when they arrive. Avoid this company they use bait and switch tactics to get you to commit to using them and the day before your set to move hit you with price increases and changes to the service they are going to provide . If you get Abigail as your rep do not trust her. She is disorganized and trained to lie in order to close sales. They do not have live people answer the phones ever. Probabaly to screen out the complaints. Takes hours or days to get a response to anything. I hired this company over a month in advance to do a move between Annapolis and Baltimore. The reason I hired them was because they promised to pack, unpack, and hang my pictures/tv mounts. I was told everything would be done in one day. Two days before the move I get a text saying the move is going to take 2 days rather then one which I was not prepared for and had to take an extra day off work on short notics. Then the day before the move I get a call saying they cannot hang pictures or tv mounts which was the entire reason I hired them. I then say I want to cancel and they are refusing to refund my deposit. Poor communication and business practices. Slow responses to calls and emails. Wouldn't be surprised if the final Bill's on there moves are significantly higher then the estimate as well. It looks like there common practice is to make false promises, lock you in, and then change things up on you last minute when they know your in a bind and cannot fire them. Avoid and do not work with Abigail. I am furious that they tried this bait and switch crap on me. I just wanted my stuff moved and they made it into a complicated mess. Bait and switch appears to be normal business practice as a way to increase profits. (They know it's going to be hard to find another company with only 24 hours notice and use this as leverage to trap and RIP you off) Luckily I scheduled my move with a few days left on my current lease so I can be flexible. I was able to hire a more reputable company to handle my move. When my move is completed within the next week I will post a review and a link to it of the other company. The new companies responsiveness and price is already better than what I got from Two Men and a Truck. Update: 8/13/19 I received a call from the Manager Brandon about 45 minutes after I spoke with and got upset with Abigail. I was calmed down at this point and ready to have a conversation about working this out. In a stern manner he informed me that they would be refunding my move deposit, they do not need me as a customer due to my attitude with his employee, that I am permanently banned from doing business with the company because of this review, he then hung up on me. He did not allow me to speak at all on the call, all I said was OK. If he would have engaged in an actual conversation with me about the problems we could have worked out the issue, issued apologies, and I would have deleted this review. They then reply to the review 30 minutes later saying they take the concerns seriously. Right. Update 8/14 No one from this company ever reached out as they said in the reply. After I complete my move, I will be filing a lawsuit against this company in Anne Arundel County District Court for the increased costs I had to pay to schedule another company, time off work, a contractor to complete the work they agreed but refused to do. I will post a link in this review to the case status for everyone to review once its filed. My Attorney is also looking into a class action lawsuit as there business practices are a violation of the Lanham act. I scheduled Two Men and a Truck to help move several large items (bed, couch and veryyy heavy dresser) to my new home. I appreciated that they had such low minimums in terms of hours, most other moving companies only start at 3 hours or so. Two Men and a Truck estimated it would take 1.75 hours to move my three large items and had a lower quote, and better customer service than any other company I reached out to. The movers were friendly, prompt and were all about moving quickly to help save me some money from the initial quote. They were quick to troubleshoot my narrow staircase and small doorframe and got everything moved in with no problem. I also appreciate that everything was wrapped and padded, I didn't have to worry about finding damage on any of my furniture after the fact. Would definitely recommend to anyone and will use again should the need arise! read more

BEWARE of this moving company. They will take advantage of you, the movers will lie to you, and they will Damage your home. Initially my experience was great with this company until move in day on the 29th. Three movers came to help me move from a one bedroom apartment to a brand new built townhouse. When we arrived at the townhouse to unpack the truck, One of the movers said they had to show me something in the truck. Since they didn't securely put my dresser in their truck, the dresser fell on top of a glass top protector item I use to protect the top of the dresser and it was in a hundred pieces. All I got was, sorry. Here comes the fun part. After they move everything into my home, Ryan or Brian, the head mover says to me: We are very sorry for the damage to your home. They made two Big holes in my brand new drywall. I almost wanted to cry. The house isn't even a month old yet. Ryan promised my mom and I that the company would take care of the repair and make sure it looks brand new. So I didn't worry. He even said they would send someone out to repair it. Then I had to deal with Terry. Terry tells me it's my responsibility to find a contractor to do the work and that it was a miscommunication on his movers part. I am brand new to this area and am a single woman. I had no idea where to even start the search. So finally I find a contractor to do the work. I send Terry the estimate as discussed. Here is were it get really fun- Terry says per the contract we will only cover $250 worth of damage to walls. My quote was $900 which tells you how bad the damage was. I simply explain to Terry that your men completely miscommunicated to me and promised me the repair would be taken care of by Two Men and a Truck. WRONG. This company and Terry and their movers pride themselves on lying and saying whatever they want to clients just to make them happy. They also promote damaging houses to get the items into the home cause they are only responsible for $250 worth of damages to your dwelling. There are no repercussions to the movers actions and lying to a client. Two Men and a Truck, you should be ashamed of how you conduct business. Now please make sure you respond to this review below and tell me how wrong I am, what I have to say to that is, I hope if you have daughters that they are treated the exact same way I have been treated by you all. read more

I would really urge you to reconsider. My beautiful stainless steel refrigerator took a good - beating, 5 x dents, a severed wire, and a missed align door? Shade never had a chance to survive the trip? If they bring in trainees don't except them leave them in the truck. Know that these guys are not attentive when breaking down furniture. You will end up with additional parts of a kids bed, severed wire on a refrigerator door and a mid aligned refrigerator door. They should take the time and place on some shoe booties to protect from dirt and grime on new carpets. Our china cabinet took a little beating and a support leg was snapped off. The last correspondence with 2 men and a truck was June 3rd reference the claims process. We have contacted them 3 times and we are in our last attempt before seeking legal advice. read more

I was referred to Two Men and a Truck by my mortgage officer. I was a bit reluctant to chose a franchise with something as important and personal as a move. My concerns were dissolved after talking with Matt and his thoughtful evaluation of our move. When his team arrived on a rainy day, it was clear that these were pros. Very polite, they greeted my family by name and spent the using words like 'excuse me and yes, sir'. The team captain, Zach (sp) asked lots of questions all throughout the move and made sure everything was to order. I had Two Men and a Truck move me recently and the move couldn't have gone smoother! I under estimated how many boxes would be coming out of my home but the movers DJ and Chris had no complaints. They even took apart and put back together my rather frustrating bed frame. I also was placed in a third floor apartment, not a ground level, but this wasn't an issue at all. It took about four hours, with a stop at a storage unit, as I anticipated and there were no mistakes! I would definitely recommend! read more

It won't let me post a negative star so I had to do one...I've never experienced such bad and lazy experience in my life. I paid well over estimates to move. They sent three guys that were as lazy as can be and even commented a dresser was too heavy because they had an earlier job and were tired. Once they got our furniture to our new house they left it in the middle of the bedrooms. 2 kids light dressers and a master bedroom. They disassembled the mirrors and it's hard to tell from the photos but they left my main dresser on its side and all were left without reattaching the mirrors. In my opinion you hire a moving company and pay more than others to take apart and resemble.Thank god I had people I could call. We put everything together ourselves and luckily we had family to do it. They didn't have the tools to do this.. not to mention one of the guys asked if we had a wrench. I supplied the tools. I've never been so disappointed and angry. I never write negative reviews but this was so bad and disappointing that I had to. When I called to complain the gentleman said he was sending me an email so I could respond with the pictures but I still have not received anything. Moving is tough and stressful enough.... please don't take on the extra burden of trying to put furniture together until 4am the day you move. Sorry the pictures aren't great but yes they left my dresser straight up not even put down on four legs. I would post pictures but it doesn't allow me on their site...... to make things right I think I got a $90 refund because that was the max they could do. In my opinion if you do a half ass job I shouldn't pay more then half. My family basically did the work they company should have... let me mention again. They didn't know what a wrench was and I supplied the tools to take the bed apart. a $90 refund does not cut it not to mention the damage to the wall and headboard. Leaving furniture like that is unacceptable and anyone I spoke with have me the same story.. we are all about customer satisfaction.. clearly you aren't. Not to mention I asked them to move a few little things that didn't fit in my U-Haul and they agreed but left them. I moved for work and am finally at a point in my life where I can afford movers, but I didn't want to break the bank. I shopped around to 4 different companies in the South PA and Baltimore region and went with Two Men and a Truck. They were the lowest bidder and I had heard good things. They quoted me $2500 max for a 50 mile move of a 3 bed 2.5 bath townhome. Their moving crew was so effectively they finished a 10 hour day in 5 hours and I only ended up paying $1500!! They took so much care with my items and wrapped everything throughly. It was pouring out during my move but they lined my carpet with a protective layer so they didn't track mud in and they used a "conveyer belt" system to avoid walking outside and inside a bunch. I am so thankful for this crew of 4 strong men!!! My husband and I got to really take in the excitement of the day and not have to worry about throwing our backs out in the process. Amazing service ! I'm shocked at the negative reviews here. My experience yesterday with Two Men and a Truck out of the Gambrills office was wonderful.  I chose them over two other companies,  even though the initial bid was a little higher,  because of my experience with their customer service reps, Brittany and then Sheena. They explained how everything worked (I've never hired movers before), followed up with modifications to the estimate as our "to-be-moved" pile changed, and answered all questions.  Poor Sheena had to reschedule us and juggle my ever-changing list, and answer my newbie questions, but she handled it with such competence and good humor, it made me feel like our move was in good hands. I never called or emailed her without getting a prompt response. She suggested things (like adding another mover to the team, which improved efficiency and hence cost) and helped me estimate supplies.  Kudos to her. The great experience continued when the four men arrived at our house. Glenn (team leader), Wayne, John and Anthony were amazing.  They arrived a bit early, so we were still putting the finishing touches on sorting our things, and after weeks of packing, we were in a high stress mood. Glenn and the team instantly made us calm. Glenn patiently listened to my invented color-coding system -- some stuff going to an auxiliary apartment,  some stuff going to the back of a storage unit and some stuff, that was for shorter term storage, I wanted to be towards the front of the unit.  I thought I might have made things overly complicated with my colored stickers on everything, but all the men instantly understood and adopted my system -- they were calling "this is pink" and "this is orange," as they packed everything out of the house with great speed and care. My husband and I just sat on the couch,  which they helpfully loaded last, watching them with amazement. They told us to relax and they'd take care of everything,  and so they did! They padded and plastic-wrapped everything as needed. They occasionally asked "what color is this?" - where my labels had fallen off or were missing (sorry!); they even carried bags of trash to the porch for us because they needed them out of the hallway in order to move furniture (double sorry!). The furniture they moved to the apartment was set up perfectly in the correct rooms. And when the truck arrived at the storage unit in PA, they did an amazing job under Glenn's direction loading the unit, using shelving we asked them to put up in the unit to give more space. They even left a narrow walkway so we can see and access things that were (per my convoluted system) more short-term storage. I was in awe of the way  they organized things in the unit.  These four men worked very hard in the summer heat, with no complaint and in fact, in great spirits. You want that wrapped? Sure, we can do it! Change that item to long-term? No problem! The overall message we got repeatedly,  throughout the experience, from the first phone call to the departure of the moving team, was "tell us what you want, then relax, we got this." And they did.  I'm so happy, I want this team to move me again when our home in PA is done! A word about cost -- while the initial bid may seem high, they overestimate cost based on worst-case scenario.  So if traffic impedes travel, or you need more supplies, or your stuff takes up more space than expected,  the cost won't go above the estimate. But YOU ONLY PAY FOR WHAT YOU USE, and your final cost, based on time, weight of cargo, and distance driven, is determined at the end. In our case, it ended up costing $500 less than the worst case estimate (lucky traffic circumstances AND efficiency of the team). So be aware of this when you're comparing bids -- and try to give them an accurate list of what you are moving (Sheena will guide you through this) so they can do a good estimate.   And for reviewers who stated tgst the damage done exceeded the company's dollar limit --  those limits are clearly delineated in the papers you sign, and which are specifically explained by both the office staff when you book and by the team leader on moving day. You have the option to purchase  more comprehensive insurance, and if you decline, that's a choice you make. This is the common practice with other companies I investigated, BTW.  It was only $90 to insure a 26-ft truck full, so it seemed worth it to me. Worst experience ever The truck wasn't big enough. No back up plan. So we had to make multiple trips to my parents' house in their truck. They broke at least three items including my TV stand and a bowl from Mexico. They then charged the wrong credit card for the remainder of the balance. So I am providing an update to this review since someone named Matt from the company decided to visit this review today and update it to say my issue was resolved. Sure, yes, after I sent in pictures of multiple pieces of furniture damaged by your company, I received a small check to cover the cost of repair for all but my brand new table. Because the table was brand new, the company sent their furniture repair company to repair it directly. But 2 Men and Truck does not get kudos from me for "resolving" an issue that they caused that could have been avoided by sending professional, knowledgeable movers to move me, which is what the $1700 that I paid should have entitled me to. I, too, am surprised at the negative reviews. I thought this company was outstanding. Due to a family situation, I offered to have a relative move in with me. I had only five days to get ready for the arrival. I called this company on a Friday and we arranged an appointment for Tuesday. I needed all the furniture and other items moved from my second floor to the basement. They gave me a quote for two men for two hours. The gentlemen arrived time and could not have been more courteous, careful with my belongings, good humored, and really hard workers. They were finished in 50 minutes, which I found amazing considering how much had to be moved. The office texted me to confirm the appointment, to let me know the men were on their way, and after they were finished. I hired the company in Gambrills, MD for my move, and I never expected what I received! After paying $900 plus dollars paint in both stairways of my brand new house was destroyed. There were 3 men that was sent, but two men really only did the move which increased the time I paid for. I heard good reviews from other locations, that's why I chose this company. I am now working with the local manager to get my walls repainted, but I will never recommend this location again! The corporate office is amazing and has answered all my calls and told me they are looking into it. When you franchise a well known company, you should make it your business, to hold the name up! The manager wasn't understanding in my complaint and I understand he has to protect his company. I have moved a number of times and have worked with several moving companies through the years. Two Men and a Truck from Crofton is at the top of the charts. They get an A+ for their handling of my household goods this month. First they moved my daughter's stuff to Northern VA and did an outstanding job. I like the way they wrapped the furniture, then padded up the door jambs so that neither the furniture nor the house would get damaged in the move. After moving my daughter's things, they moved me to Annapolis. And finally they moved my financial advisor, who has a lot of household goods. Matt's team performed admirably on all three jobs. They were on time, courteous and very helpful. The company barely flinched when I had to change moving dates seven times as my closing date continually got moved. Terrible experience. The movers arrived 1.5 hours late. We live in a one bedroom apartment that should have taken 3 hours max to move out of but the three guys moved like snails and it ended up being an extremely painful 11 hour day. They broke items that they said would be replaced but they will not return our calls. My husband emailed the gentlemen we booked everything with during the move to express our concern and we never heard back from him. They followed up the day after with a courtesy call where my husband expressed our dissatisfaction - the representative said he was going to look into everything and get back to us. Silence. If I could give a minus zero I absolutely would. They called me and we set up a move for a specific day and time.. Yet they bugged me for two days to begin earlier.. I finally agree yet when they arrived they arrive with two men versus three men in which I originally ordered. We had to wait around almost two hours for the supervisor to arrive with the third guy who had no transportation. All of my boxes were moved to the front of the apartment (weeks prior to my move) and all they had to do was gather the large items and move those. They insisted on wrapping the heavy items at no charge.. yet I was charged for time it took to wrap them. I told the guys at the end of the move that I would have a snack for them and Gatorade yet one dude the same dude who I watched dragging my items down the stairs and flipping boxes in the air assure me everything was ok.. is the same dude that kept asking for the food and the drink.. If you are working that's not my requirement to provide you with food... that's your job and on your dime not mine.. But I did it as a courtesy. While all my things were boxed up (boxed, wrapped with bubble wrap, and packing paper) and ready to go I was convinced by the supervisor that it would take twice as long as quoted and twice the price.. I was stuck I had to be out of there at a certain time. The same dude begging for the food and flipping boxes is the same dude walking around with rap music playing from his pocket -- yet two men and a truck assured me he sent the best dudes possible. They also would no move "open" boxes.. the open boxes were packed and wrapped tight but they were odd shaped items that could not be "packed" into closed boxes.. I was told "oh no we don't do that" but yet no one from their office ever relayed this fact.. I had to hire another guy the next day and get my son and a friend to move the rest costing me an additional $350.. the worse moving company ever and these complaints will be taken up the corporate chain! read more

I hired two men and a truck to move me from my single family to a town home. They estimated 5 hours the move took 12 hours. The workers took multiple food and drink breaks. I have them on camera sitting around laughing doing nothing for long periods of time. To top it off they scratched the wood floors, broke my chimney cabinet and literally put holes on the walls.
