Two Men and a Truck is very dishonest and have a business model designed to stick it to customers on 'moving day' when they know 'they've got you'. They underbid their jobs saying they can do a job with two guys in 6 hours then they arrive and say this job is bigger than the scheduler told us. they then call and the scheduler/ boss says sure, we'll send more guys, but it's going to cost you a significant amount more per hour.... what csn you do, they know you're stuck, since this move has been planned for weeks. I ended up carrying a ton if things myself to help speed up the process to try and avoid some if the now ridiculous increased hourly rate!! Don't get me wrong, the guys who showed up for the job were great, but their management and business model are something to be desired. This company takes advantage of people, and won't accept any responsibility for initially under bidding the job at one price, then telling you it's your fault, and then here come the up-charges!! Please read the shitty reviews on this company. The estimators who show up are nice people. I was estimated for 2 trucks because I have a second basement, patio furniture and grills, and a full garage. On move day, they showed with 1 truck. The garage and patio and excess items would not fit. They told me if I went and rented a truck they would fill it and move it. I had to leave my wife and twin children there alone while I got a truck. I was estimated 2500-3300 and it cost me 4K. The movers told me Paul Delguidice "Backed it down" to one truck and he did it to others just the day before. He's a piece of shit. He regularly screws customers. Out of time and money. This company should have been sued out of business already. Or at least him personally. He personally is responsible for every failure this company encounters. They allowed me to file a dispute with "Their" system. And of course "Their" system denied me. These people have absolutely ZERO scruples. They would stab you in the face if they could but they don't have the balls to show up. Paul is a fat loser and can't make legitimate money. So he makes fraudulent money. Never use these people. i went on the website and read some reviews and found a person that was overcharged by $900 just like myself overcharged by $512.00, what a horrible experience they sent two inexperienced young men who clearly couldn't lift a feather, my husband, my son and i moved the apt ourselves, they had no direction couldnt get a few big pieces out the door, they were struggling, stalling on the clock then when we got to our final destination they unloaded everyhting and left it there at the door leaving my family to continue to moving our furniture what a rip off and have the nerve after i paid $682 to charge me anothier $512 for a service that was not provided i want my money back i put in a dispute to my credit card company and to two men and a truck, they left me a message to call and talk about this but when i call no one is ever available becaus they ripped me off and don't care and from what i read on line they have done this to other customers. valerie quintana read more

I have used Two Men and a Truck for several moves however I will not be using them again in the future. I called the Joliet location and was told that I would be getting movers from the Tinley Park location and much to my suprise they ended up from Elmhurst. Things started well enough, I was impressed with having four movers thinking that this would be done in no time and in the assumption I was correct but at the detriment of my belongings. They were in such a damn big hurry that they damaged several items: broken dishes, scratches and knicks in furniture, broken lamps and even putting several holes in my walls. At one point they showed me a lamp that they had broken, (it now refuses to stand up) then had the nerve to tell me that it was like that when they put it on the truck. I have never seen such disregard for other peoples property in my life, if you don't want to move people's belongings then I'm sure you can find another job to not care about. Sure I filed the necessary paperwork for the damages but the few pennies I'm going to recieve won't make up for the items I can't replace. Bottom line beware. read more

My first move that I had was booked and Estimated by Rob Englar who did an outstanding job in satisfying my moving stress issues since it was my time moving and everything went by smooth and gave you guys a call up again for another move. Without getting to personal, my girlfriend was moving in with me and she had a bunch of stuff at her condo to go into my house and she called you guys up for a quote, which she felt really comfortable with and had her moving needs estimated by Mike Denton who has professional experience in knowing how all these factors such as: a long walk from the entry way, the stairs at her complex and the distance might be a time factor on her move and didn't want to exceed her budget. Very disappointed. They broke some of our furniture and were very rude about it. The furniture was a special gift from family and was not cheap. They blew off our concerns and promised some sort of compensation but are now not willing to honor it. In addition, they quoted us a reasonable price for 3-5 hours of moving from our one bedroom apartment to our new house. The end cost was much higher than I had been quoted. Had I known the final cost I would not have used them. For quoting themselves as "The Movers Who Care", it does not feel like they do. I am incredibly disappointment with this company. I paid the extra money for extra insurance coverage towards moving that they are now not willing to honor. They have been incredibly misleading. We have used them in the past with no problems but something happened with their customer service and management. Do not use them. read more

That is fine. However this company said it was old and of little value (insulting & untrue) but said they would have it fixed. After sometime with no communication we followed up with the offending party only to be told they had "accidentally thrown it out." Their solution was a check for $300. Do not trust anything with this incompetent, arrogant location of Two Men & A Truck. In 40 years I've never been so insulted and shocked with a service. Livid. Absolutely livid. It is now 3:14pm on Saturday, May 27th. Our movers should have arrived at 1:00pm. Clarissa called me and said they'd arrive at 1:30pm. I said, ok - no problem. Again, it's 3:16pm and there are no movers and no phone calls. I've called every number possible and they all go to voicemail. There is no one on the weekends to help you , or answer your call. We are left in limbo with no answers. Each office is independently owned and operated so I can not speak for other locations but I live in Chicago. I am more than furious. We live in the city of Chicago so we had to pay to get a permit for the parking of the moving truck. Two Men and a Truck told me they did not get the permits. I spoke to the city multiple times and was told the permit needed to be pulled by the licensed moving company. Clarissa again told me that they do not pull permits. (Maybe they should speak to the city). It's now 3:20pm and I'm still waiting. I reserve the end of this review because I'm sure the movers will be friendly and helpful. What I can not accept is the abhorrent lack of customer service and assistance on weekends. Again, livid is the only word I can think of. TO BE CONTINUED... I used Two men and a truck. Worst thing I've ever done. I was quoted 1700.00 for the move. These guys had no idea what they were doing. Definitely they had no experience! They could not move my page cabinet. This is even after explaining Paul the the cabinet was oak and very heavy. It took a week to get the move finalized. Then there was damage to the cabinet. The house that we bought was freshly painted and now there are splintered doors and chips out of the paint. They do not want to take responsibility for anything! Do not use them at all!!!! This company continues to try to charge us for services we NEVER used, going so far as to submit forged signed documents. In May, when our original moving truck canceled a day before our move, we called several local businesses to get quotes/check truck availability. To receive a quote from Two Men and a Truck we were required to put down a credit card. We received a better quote elsewhere, so we told Two Men and a Truck we would not be using their services. A week after our move, my husband received two charges on his credit card from TM&T: one for $800 and one for $265. We called and they denied making any charge. We even spoke with their accounting department who said they did not see anything for that fee. We spend the better part of a day talking with our bank and TM&T and finally were able to have both charges removed. Remember: we NEVER used their services. This week, now almost two months later, the $265 charge reappeared on my husbands card. He immediately called his bank, who said TM&T had submitted a signed letter from the alleged crew that "worked" our move to verify the services incurred. The letter did not have our former or new address, and our name wasn't even on the form. We NEVER used this company's service. Do NOT give them your CC number, since they will use it to falsify charges. We will be submitting a copy of the forged, falsified letter (which our bank has) to the BBB. read more

Will never use again, We were quoted 900 to move a one bedroom apt. From La Grange to Brookfield maybe a 5 mile move. Day of the move they sent the crew and truck from Orland Park so more of a travel charge, rained for 10 min and got a adverse weather charge, took a 4hr move a total of 11hrs, put holes in the hallway. I have used this company several times, and had been very satisfied. The last move was a total let down in terms of quality. The slogan "movers who care" was counter to the condition that my furniture arrived in! Broken desk, broken drawers, scratched and blistered wood tables, dirty upholstery from couches and chairs being slid sideways down the hallway. Both my husband and I witnessed the crew rushing, forcing things, dragging things. The casters literally came off the bottom of both a desk and side table, and ended up in the dumpster. The crew came with rolls of protective wrap and didn't bother to use it, so drawers were sliding in and out, scratching the surface of other items. The customer support person took my information to have a supervisor call me. I have spent more than a month to get the owner or supervisor to call me back. read more

The guys were prompt and very patent and helpful. I just asked them to move a couple of sofas and a coffee table from a friends house to mine. It was a one up fee, so I obviously had no problem with estimates as some other reviews. As I said the guys were very prompt. Very patient. And talk really good care of everything. I called on three separate occasions to get an estimate for a 1bdrm interstate move (approx an 8hr drive). Each time I spoke to someone they said I would get a call back shortly from someone who could provide an exact estimate. First call was 10/22, they said they would call me back and never did. I called again on 11/1 around 10am, was told I would get a call back in a few minutes, the woman who is handling my account is on the other line. I waited until 5:30pm and called back to say I was following up again. The guy who answered apologized and asked me a few questions about how much stuff I had to move. He said he would forward my info to the estimate team and he personally would call me back the next morning with the quote. I never heard from him either. Absolutely unbelievable!! If anyone asks me for moving recommendations in the future, I'll warn others against going through my same experience. read more

Movers were great but beware! Be extremely thorough with the estimator because they will under estimate your move and in my case sent the wrong truck. They charged me almost $900 more then the original estimate and I felt I was honest with the estimator from the get go. I admit I did have a more difficult move but if they sent their largest truck(even the movers admitted this is a problem) then they would have shaved 2 hours off the move time and they charge by the hour. I tried to speak with them about this and they never returned my calls or emails until I went direct to their corporate office(they weren't much more help though because they are each independently owned.) all in all use IF your going to use them use a different location. In fact the movers they used were from a different location down in Joliet area I believe so use Elmhurst at your own risk. read more

When I originally spoke with someone here they were extremely friendly and I felt really good about hiring movers for the first time. I wanted to avoid the stress and I wanted my expensive furniture to be handled with care, wrapped, etc...moving day came and they did not show up...I called the office and the woman had an attitude that they waited at my house and I never came to the door. I had my door open, items outside , my car was open and being packed, and she said "we don't know your car mam.....". Which wasn't my point. My point was that it was very obvious what house to be at and that I was waiting with my door open for two hours. They came back hours later, two young kids, who quickly just packed my shit up without wrapping or handling with care what so ever. They indicated they didn't have my unit number, so now I know they weren't knocking on my door like I was told. They were really nice kids but this whole process cost me over 650 for nothing. I still incurred the stress and even worse the cost. My expensive furniture and pictures and sitting upside down and sideways without being wrapped in storage. I could have rented a trailer and just did what they did. Don't waste your time because when I told the company my feelings after the move they said "thanks for the feedback". Really...? read more

I had a terrible experience with the Two Men and a Truck franchise in Elmhurst. They require you to sign the moving contract as an estimate knowing full well that if you have a dispute, it becomes an enforceable contract. I had a dispute (a mover got sick and we waited one hour for the replacement mover) and yet, they enforced the time charged even though that hour delay changed our ability to enter the building in the most effective manner. What took one hour to load, took two and 1/2 hours to unload and they charged me for all that time. Shame on them and now I know better. read more

The best movers I have ever used. Today I had a three stop move scheduled with the first stop set between 8:30 and 9:30. I received a call at 8:14 from Everett to let me know they were set to head over to the first location, however I needed to ask if they could delay for an hour or so and that was not a problem. Everett and Ted showed up, as as agreed earlier, at 10:00 on the dot and the first load was completed, the second stop/load was done and the truck then pulled up at the final destination, the truck was unloaded and we were done. Everett and Ted were professional, careful, and efficient throughout the move. All furniture was delivered and is in place and in perfect shape. The move was done so efficiently that when I signed off on the bill, it came in at $130 lower than estimated. Folks like Everett and Ted are what make this company the Best in the West. read more

Awful experience with this location. Moved June 2017 and damage to furniture and condo I moved into. Claim department difficult and uses bullying techniques. Stay clear of this location which services Wheaton, Elmhurst, and Carol Stream. I used the Plainfield location in 2016 and had a great move. My mistake was expecting the same of this location. I'm now having to work with IL Commerce Commission to resolve the matter. If anyone has a problem with them you have up to 2years to file a complaint with ICC. read more
