Sweet home movers is the worst, dirtiest company I've ever worked with in my life. Was quoted $615 for my one-bedroom move and was charged $1,065. Like, true story. Told the owner I would have around 30 boxes and his words were "if you want a company that will give you a flat rate and stick with it, that's us." Not only was I charged almost double the quote, but they broke a $250 industrial lamp, my safe was tempered with and permanently locked me out, scratches on dressers, computer monitor, a small lamp didn't work again, handle gone from vacuum (can't make this up), my office chair somehow cracked and not useable AND they must have put the bed frame back together in 30 seconds bc half the bolts and screws weren't even in halfway. In addition, when I spoke to owner regarding my 6 foot floor mirror, a piece I really loved and valued, and was clearly forgotten by the movers,, the owner said any additional times not moved day of isn't in contract. I definitely stated that mirror needed to be moved.. as did everything in my apartment. I am beyond the point of frustrated and am just sad this man used me, took my money, had no remorse and then gets away with it. Unless you want to pay double the quote, lose $1,500 in broken, damaged or left property, to then be told the next day they aren't going to refund me for floor lamp and damaged property , nor move the item their movers forgot, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I used sweet home movers for an in state move early November 2025. It was easy to schedule with them and their pricing was fair, but the experience was one of the most stressful moving experiences I've ever had. I've moved myself and also hired all sorts of movers and labor 7 times in the last 10 years. I don't recommend sweet home movers. They showed up with the smallest truck I've seen. We had a Pods load of furniture and boxes in a garage. They backed into the driveway. They didn't need to carry things up and down stairs or take things apart. They moved SO SLOW. They couldn't fit everything in their truck. It took 2.5 hours just to load that into their truck. I think they were taking extra long to puzzle as much into their small truck as possible. Their English wasn't great so they couldn't read the labels on the boxes. They took an extra 3 hours more than expected and you bet they charged us for it. In the end my husband and I and our parents did about a third of the loading and unloading. And spent $300 more than we thought we would. The guys were nice and were able to handle a tricky move of a large wine fridge into the basement. That's basically all the nice things I can say about them. read more

I wanted to like this company because the owner, David, was courteous and reliable in communications. However, I'm giving a one-star rating due to their deceptive pricing practices. I'd originally received a quote for their services on May 19 for $1500. I ended up booking with another company, but then that company cancelled my move due to scheduling logistics on their end. I called David again on June 2 and he confirmed that my quote was, once again, $1500. I made the mistake of mentioning that the other company had cancelled on me. Instead of booking that day, David told me that he needed to check on some logistics on his end first and he'd give me a call back the next day to confirm they had the availability I needed. I said ok. Well, David calls me the next day and suddenly, the quote is $2000, which is $500 more than what he quoted me less than 24 hours before. I asked him if there was a reason for the change. He told me that maybe when he gave me the quote before, he didn't have my full information, such as the dates and the moving addresses. Nope, I gave him that information on the 19th, and he also confirmed that info when I spoke with him on the 2nd. Then he said, "I just put the information into the system and this is the quote it gives me. I have no control over it." Then he tried to pressure me by telling me that my date was the busiest moving day of the year, and if I didn't book with him now and decided to call him tomorrow, he may not have the availability any more. It really seems like the only thing that changed between June 2, when my quote was $1500, and June 3, when he quoted me $2000 was the fact that I mentioned another company had cancelled on me. He perceived me as desperate and tried to take advantage of that to get $500 extra from me. And of course, all of the quotes were verbal and nothing was put in writing, probably so they can get away with stuff like this. No thanks. read more

The movers, Ely, Yoon, and Alexander had already arrived, and Ely called me prior to the arrival to let me know the ETA. After the movers we had previously scheduled with canceled on us, we were scrambling at the last minute (2 days out from our move) to find movers to load/unload our UHaul. Thankfully, we found this company on Google and the owner (David) worked with us to schedule times to help us out. While this companies movers were delayed by an hour due to weather, David kept us in the loop and notified us of when his guys would arrive at our apartment. When they arrived, they got to work right away and managed to load our UHaul (1 bedroom worth of furniture) in 45 minutes. The next day, our movers arrived right on time and did a fantastic job of unloading our UHaul into our 2nd floor apartment despite some tight spaces. I would absolutely use this company again.
