Hired 2 slow men and a truck a few weeks back. Actually we hired 4 slow men and 2 truckss for a Gilbert AZ move. They were so slow. They had estimated 3 to 4 hours. 3 hours was never going to be a reality. We had to help so much. My family and I moved roughly half the items and they came in at 6 hours. We said no way and they ended up respecting the 4 hours max. They broke a desk and were going to fix or replace. Have left 3 messages regarding the desk and have not been called. I've never used a moving company before and turned to Yelp to make sure I would hire a team with experience and good ratings. I'm SO GLAD I found Two Men and a Truck! They packed up all of my mother-in-law's precious objects and dishes, grandfather clock and furniture with such care. While unpacking I was very surprised that every glass, bowl and plate had packing inside the voids as well as outside. There was no way anything could possibly be damaged. I greatly appreciated that Nick kept in touch via phone and text to let me know exactly where they were and when to expect them. As a business owner myself, I believe that communication is everything. They went straight from point A in Mesa, AZ to point Z in California. When they unpacked my mother-in-law's items, Nick set up her grandfather clock with such care and expertise. It had not been working for the past year and he figured out that the weights were not property set and corrected them. For my 87-year-old mother-in-law to finally hear her clock chime in her new home was everything to her and made her new house feel like home. That's a big deal when moving an elderly person from one state to another. I would absolutely, 1,000% recommend Two Men and a Truck to anyone looking for a moving company. I have used this company twice. The first time a few years ago (aprox 5 years) I definitely had a 5 star experience however this time around did not meet expectations so the three stars is really in consideration from my prior experience. If this was my first time using them it would be much lower. The movers forgot to load my son's Spaulding 54 inch basketball hoop system that I bought for him for Xmas in 2022 and cost $350+ assembly cost. I did not have any other way to move it myself and only had one day left in my prior home, so I had to give it away. I reminded the movers a few times about the hoop and they kept pushing until the end. When we got to my new house I asked where is the hoop they said they forgot and didn't offer to go get it. I was already so tired of these movers approach to moving that I had no energy to call their office. However, now I will have to buy another hoop for my son and this was something very important to him as he uses daily for shooting practice. They also scratched my bed headboard which is solid wood due to not wrapping properly as they promise to do (I paid for that in my moving costs). They also towards the end, loaded my favorite mirror and many picture items without any wrapping, now it is not only scratched by also broken. And the list goes on. Whatever you do, DO NOT use this company! We had a very valuable antique mirror that they broke and refuse to do anything about it. It was over 120 years old and one of only 2 things I have of my grandmother's. When they were packing up our stuff I asked the guy if I should move it myself in my car and he assured me they would wrap it well and it would be fine. When we unwrapped it, it is in pieces and cannot be fixed. They knew they broke it because when we arrived at our new house (only 9 miles away) they insisted on leaving it wrapped and left it wrapped in a moving blanket. When the guy came out to look at it, he said "well, sorry"! I said I wished the guy had told me to move it myself and he said "so do I"!! Well, that doesn't do me much good now, does it? They didn't offer us anything ....not one penny for damages, nor one penny reimbursement of the moving charge. They obviously do not care if they break your items. read more

I used Two Men and a Truck to move the contents of a home into storage about 2 years ago. It took 6 hours and 4 men. After giving them my business twice, I called today (07/08/2024). Jesse told me it would take multiple trucks and more than 4 men. Why would it take more people and more trucks to move an identical amount of items? We started in items and furniture from every room in a home and now they are all located in a 10 x 30 storage unit? Why would I need more trucks and more people? In the end, Jesse just kept on adding the the expense of a move that is under 2 miles. After using this company twice, I have lost all confidence in them and hired another mover. We scheduled our move well in advance with Stephanie. I answered a long list of questions describing all our items; going over each room in great detail. I was concerned about having a big enough truck for our 5 bedroom. I was assured we would be taken care of. She said there would be four men and a truck with plenty of space. I was quoted $1300-$1800 for the move and she did say she didn't think we'd be much over the $1300 mark. We were moving all times to a storage facility and then on from there to our new home. Day of the move- only three guys showed up. Tired and complaining. They immediately said there was no way they'd be able to get it done in the time allowed and it would likely be twice the initial quote. They also said they'd had many problems with Stephanie giving low quotes and not scheduling correctly. I was shocked at the unprofessional display. Fast forward- the 'boss' came, apologized profusely, supplied a second truck and said we'd be out that day. It took 11 hours and we had to keep them moving. One of them even said how much he hated the job. I felt bad for them but needed to just push forward. I even gave the guys a little extra to split at the end of it all. Today, I am unpacking and am APPALLED at the damage to my things. I'll post just a couple here for you to see. Too many to post all! AND the movers from that day just had the nerve to request more tip money through Venmo! Literally, 2 weeks after the move, asking for more money. Avoid two men and a truck! I have moved many times in my life, twice across the country. This has by far been my worst moving experience. I do take responsibility for not taking the reviews more seriously, and strictly based my decision to use them on their quote. I should have paid more attention. 1) Quote - They quoted me 3.5-5.5 hours to move a 5 bedroom 4 bath, 3400 sq house. That probably should have been my first clue something is off. So for those considering hiring a moving company, please make sure the quote is realistic and the comparison is apples to apples. It ended up taking them about 8 hours to *complete* the job, because the truck they brought wasn't big enough, so they had to make two trips. They knew it was a 5 bedroom 4 bath house, so we are talking about 5 sets of bedroom furniture. 2) Initial Walkthrough - Moving companies I have used before typically did an initial walkthrough and marked everything that they are moving. Not these guys. They barely did an initial walkthrough and certainly didn't mark any of the items. So throughout the entire day, I had to keep telling them "that needs to go too" over and over again. If I am moving out of the house, why would I leave anything behind? 3) Final Walkthrough - So guess what, at the end of the day, sure enough they forgot a sofa chair in one of the rooms. Now most moving companies would do a final walk through with the customer to make sure everything that needs to go have gone. Not these guys. When I told them they forgot my sofa chair, they claimed all three of them did a walk through twice and didn't notice the sofa chair. How do you completely miss a sofa chair? It's not a small item. They then doubled down on it and insisted that chair wasn't there. So I went back to the old house and sure enough, that chair was sitting in one of the bedrooms. I took a photo and sent it to them. They still insisted that chair was not there when they left. So, I was left speechless. For them to deny the chair was there when they left, means one of three options: 1) I hid the sofa chair from them and then after they left, I snuck it back into the room. Would that make any sense to anyone? 2) All three of them did in fact walked through the entire house twice and didn't see the chair. That would make them blind and incompetent. 3) None of them did a walkthrough of the house, as they claimed. They lied. Now which one makes the most sense? I take full responsibility for not micromanaging these guys from start to finish. I didn't think I needed to. I have never had a bad experience before with moving companies, so I let my guard down. I ended up having to rent a Uhaul to move the remaining items (Yes, the sofa chair wasn't the only thing they left behind). In the end, it would have been much cheaper if I went with any of the other moving companies I got a quote from. These guys were simply unprofessional. Update: To add the all of this, they completely botched the reassembly of one of the bedframes. I happened to have a handyman come today for other projects and he took one look at the bedframe and said this was assembled incorrectly. He ended up taking it apart and reassembled it himself. read more

Updating my review to one star. As we unloaded the truck, multiple pieces of furniture were damaged. They thought it was a good idea to stack hundreds of pounds of boxes on my desk and the back legs are now bent. They scuffed our leather couch and chipped our wood coffee table. They also wrapped our leather furniture in plastic wrap which we leather after is a HUGE no-no. Thankfully our furniture was okay since the climates were mild, but it could have ruined all our leather. My husband has a call in with Two Men and a Truck to discuss damages but they haven't yet returned our call. read more

After attempting for months to resolve damages from moving our small load by TWO MEN AND A TRUCK, I must tell of our problems The corporate office was sympathetic and disturbed but had no recourse as this is a franchise business. The local business could care less. Our load was small, two rooms of furniture and 6 boxes. Short haul of 10 minutes. I made a mistake of trusting them to move my golf cart. The cart was dropped and $630.36 damages was the result. A few scratches on new flooring and walls, nothing dramatic. The biggest problem was the use of two young men who goofed off talking.while putting a bed together. This small move turned into a 5 hour project. I had a three-man crew and only two of them really did the work. The one guy was very outspoken and even rude at times. He stayed mostly in the truck while they were loading. On the unloading, he was busy on his phone , in the bathroom, or busy talking to everyone he can and insulting the one guy who was working the hardest. He absolutely refused to move a couch into the master bedroom. Wouldn't even measure it to see if it fit. Also, let us know that they can accept gratuities. I tipped the other two guys but not the third. Won't use their services again. read more

Energetic team of movers (3 of them). "Leader" appeared to be experienced; one fairly new to the moving business; and the last, very new to the moving business. House packed and movers ready for drive over to new house in a shorter time then anticipated. Truck also unloaded and items put away in a shorter period of time then expected. Concerns - Dented wall downstairs by stairs (fixed by company) and dented wall in sons room (fixed by company). Major concern - Spent over 2 hours attempting to put together son's full size bed. In the end, one rail was broken and bolts on other rail stripped. Fortunately, company immediately ordered new rails, which were received 4-5 days later. Took me 12 minutes to put together. Would I use again? Probably. Good customer service and good to work with. read more

Why does this co have bad reviews? I don't get it !!! I have used them twice in the past 3 months! They are much better priced than other moving companies and they are all about customer service! I was scheduled to move Monday 9/28 , but we didn't realize the streets in our new neighborhood were being re-paved .... meaning we would have to park down the street for thr entire week.!! I was panicking - I called on fri and they were able to rearrange my move that SAME DAY! I wish in remembered both guys names - 1 was Jared I believe ... but they both did a great job! Two of our couches are MASSIVE -heavy leather couches and I felt so bad watching them try to haul them up 9 steps (( new home is a split level). ... but they did it . I couldn't hear them discussing a game plan and communicating before moving anything. Nothing was damaged - they did GREAT! I will NOT EVER USE ANOTHER MOVING CO. I must also give credit to Steohanie in the office who called me back while I was in straight panic mode on Friday and she was able to rearrange my move that same day . Good job! A REALISTIC REVIEW AND REALITY CHECK! Moving is already a pain and you are hiring professionals to do the backbreaking work that you don't want to do. We moved in Gilbert and were told $125 travel or trip fee. We took the insurance for $75. Even though nothing was damaged and everything went smoothly, I would always pay for the insurance because if I'm moving some heavy furniture myself, then there is a chance I could damage it and I can't expect anyone else to be better than me! So the $75 added protection is worth even one extra phone call to complain. As far as electronics, I moved all of those with my family. Yes it was a pain and our older daughter asked why we are paying for movers! We also moved a lot of our clothes and our glass framed pictures and art. These items could have been wrapped and protected but that takes a lot longer and at $125 an hour and possibility of having something shattered and damaged on accident was avoidable if I took care of it. You never realize how much you have until you move. We got rid a lot of items, but still had three bedrooms with dressers, 40+boxes/plastic containers, front load washer and dryer on pedestals, refrigerator, stand alone freezer, 5 piece sectional, 9x12 rug, TV stand for a 65" with drawers and glass front, coffee table, a backyard with a couple of small storage and patio set, and a Mattress that is double coils and probably weighs close to 300lbs! With all of the items we brought over, the truck was still packed floor to ceiling and front to back. This is the sh1t I didn't want to do. Our multiple trips was nothing compared to this 30' truck full of backbreaking stuff. The drive time from the southeast end of Gilbert to the northwest end is about 20 minutes, but with the truck it was more like 30 on surface streets. Total load and unload time for the 3 movers was 5 hours. So with the trip, insurance and total time it was $825 well worth it. We bought some lunch and had them stop for a few quick bite and the ate and were back at it. REALITY CHECK! We have moved in the past with friends. There is so much time wasted with friends. First we spend money on breakfast and the stragglers getting there at their own time because it's a favor. So once everyone eats and finished talking you have a few trying to control the move. Finally after several hours the truck is packed and everyone has to put stuff in their cars because the 24' Uhaul wasn't big enough or the odds and ends were going to get crushed/broken or damaged. You finally get to the new house and it's already been 4 or 5 hours and those who are still with you are ready for some lunch. You finish eating and then unpacking and just in time because the sun is setting and it was the longest 8-10 hour day. After breakfast, lunch, ice chest full of drinks and the cost of the Uhaul and gas plus mileage, you realize you are anywhere from $400-$600 deep and exhausted. My wife and I used Two men and a Truck years ago and it was just as great then. The move with food and if you decide to tip is well worth it. If you don't pay for the insurance, just remember, if you moved it yourself, you or a friend could have damaged it and that would be too damn bad. Thanks goes out to the call and quote by Nicole who gave a good estimate so there were no surprises like we have had in the past with another moving company that was all fluff. Next shout out to Xavier who was outstanding leader of the group and Mason who was also very experienced. These two gents were on top of things and they wrapped everything with tarps and shrink wrap. This did prolong the move but saved so much time not having to deal with an insurance claim for damage and also helped because no doors or walls were damaged either. I'm sure if I didn't talk as much that would have saved time as well, but I like people taking care of my items to know I appreciate them and my stuff is extremely important but not as important as the people doing the hard work! Austin who was new worked really hard as well and kept moving, only tip for Austin is, stop and wash those hands. The mattress has hand prints from you and we were only okay with it because as we mentioned, we are going to be getting a new one soon. Sorry to throw that out there but you still worked hard enough to be a five(5) star rating. I have used two men and a truck several times. It hasn't always been absolutely stellar but this was the first time I would describe my move as truly awful. From the moment the truck pulled up, I knew something was wrong. I usually like to look inside the truck prior to the movers loading my items and did so to discover a filthy truck and I mean filthy. It was so dirty that I asked the men to sweep it with a broom I provided (and later tossed out) and out came a full dust pan of hairballs, gum wrappers, Bobby pins and bottle caps. The truck had obviously not been cleaned or swept in several moves. I was hesitant for them to load my stuff into this truck due to how I clean it was but I had no choice obviously. I had minimal furniture, 1 queen bed and frame, 1 full mattress, an entertainment center, two nightstand, a desk and approx 20 boxes. Much less than an average move for sure. This moved cost me 650 dollars... for a local move... no I'm not joking. 170 per hour and a 170 dollar travel charge just to drive down Ellsworth to my new place. My house was prepped perfectly and the movers even said so, but that didn't stop them from taking 30 minutes to figure out how to lift my tempurpedic bed base. When they did finally gain the courage to lift it, they lifted it by the hydraulic system underneath (which I told them not to do) but they assured me it's fine. Well, the power base is now not working and just clicks frantically if I try to adjust it. It's clearly broken and it is an 1100 dollar bed base. I called two men and wanted it noted about the truck being dirty and they just said sorry and that they can assure me I won't get bed bugs or anything from the filthy truck. I'm not sure how they can guarantee that as it seemed as though no one had walked the truck in weeks. I won't ever be using them again, and I regret choosing them for this very stressful move. One last thing, one of the men was sneezing and coughing quite a bit while he was moving my stuff. Again, I had no choice but to continue. Well... my son and I both are very sick with flu symptoms at the moment. We haven't been tested for Covid and likely won't but I hate to think it was the mover that ultimately got us sick. Truly it couldn't have been any worse of an experience. Stay away, trust me. Don't use this company if you have nice items or value cleanliness. read more

I'd leave more stars if I could! Huge shout out to the guys who helped move my very picky & particular grandmother today (Hunter K, Dre, Michael S, and Todd W). These guys showed up right on time at 7am and worked their butts off NONSTOP until the job was done! They were very friendly, courteous gentlemen and didn't complain once, even though it was a 110 degrees outside. They made sure to ask my grandma where every box/loose item went! They went out of their way to offer to adjust furniture and were extremely careful with every box (fragile or not). All around great group of helpers and we couldn't have don't it without them! The wardrobe boxes they offer were enough to sell me too, I'll be using this company for every move from now on! Thank you again! P.S. we were moving a 3,500 SQ/FT house! I am appalled at this company and the moves that handled my furniture. First; they chipped and scuffed multiple walls in my brand new build home and the furniture they scraped it with. Second; EVERY SINGLE PIECE of furniture they touched is now wobbly or damaged in some way; dressers, desks, tv stands, shelves, we even had to trash an entire shelf because it could barely stand it was so wobbly and posed a danger to falling on our child. One couch had an upholstery nail sticking out of it after they brought it in and they even broke a futon after falling on it trying to get the couch in. Third; ONE OR BOTH OF THE MOVERS STOLE MY MEDICAL Marijuana from my master bathroom. They were rushed and more worried about getting the job done quickly stating it was one of their birthdays. My experience with this moving company has been absolutely terrible. I was quoted inflated rates, told I would have 3 men to move but only 2 showed at first, the wall was deeply scratched from a handcart, and several items were damaged by the movers. It has been over 30 days and my items have not been replaced/repaired. Furthermore, in says in the agreement that the movers will do basic assembly and reassembly which the movers did not do in either case. It also mentions that they will provide mattress bags which they also didn't provide. Luckily there was a mattress cover on the primary bed to protect the mattress itself, but it ended up becoming black and ruined, and I just threw it away. These Two Men and a Truck locations are franchises, I recommend avoiding this one at all costs and trying a different company all together, or at least a different location. read more

This company has gone down hill fast. We used them in 2017 and they were outstanding. Used them again in January and the one of the two 'men' that came was lazy and condescending while the other young man worked for two. We felt sorry for him being paired with a guy like that. We were overcharged - gouged actually; compared to what we were quoted to move our things less than a half mile away. We NEVER should have signed the paper work. Don't use this company - there are plenty of others out there who will do a great job for much less money. Two men and a truck have gotten too big for their britches. Worst moving experience I've ever had in regards to customer. Got a sunday move date, estimated to start at 2 pm and end at 5pm. Should have been a fairly easy process. 20 minutes in from the estimated start of the appointment, no one has showed up. I have no notification about appointment being late. I call and leave a voicemail. I do this 2-3 more times. No one has showed up. At 3:30 I finally get a call back from the GM of the area stating the movers would be late, by an hour, maybe two. I was just happy someone reached out and gave me a notification about SOMETHING. It's now 5:30, 3 and a half hours after the scheduled start of the move, and 30 minutes after the estimated end of this move, and still, no one has showed up. I do not recommend this company. The quote was incorrect. I was clear about the size of my home and how much needed to be moved. After they arrived I found out the move was going to cost more than twice as much. We could not come to an agreement and they left without moving me. I then had to hire different movers for two days later for under the quote given. The company does a bait and switch. Our second move within Phoenix area we used Two Men and A Truck again, 18 yrs later. Second time we had more items, more antiques and wood. And almost every wooden piece was somehow either broken, scratched, or dinged while the walls of our newly built home also received scrapes and indented hole on the stairway wall. :/ Some of the men/boys were very good and professional yet a few were tired, I guess,..and/or had a hot date awaiting them? Now I just wished we had paid more for a more professional job. I'm just glad we did our own moving of the artwork, plants, the glassware and All of the personal pictures! They are a good company, just make darn sure that you supervise the men/boys, that they are rested and that you all are on the same page as to how long you think it will take. read more

The second experience was a disaster. Two very young , very inexperienced boys who were clearly just learning while charging the full price of professional movers. Very friendly and hard working loaders with a good attitude. Unfortunately way in over their head to be considered professional movers!! I am only giving them 2 stars, because they bailed on us without even finishing the job. We hired Two Men for a local move in Gilbert, to get us moved into our new home in Val Vista Lakes. After a very long day, the two gents that were moving us had to call it quits for the day; unfortunately, there were still items that didn't get moved to the new house, and furniture at the new house that they had disassembled and not re-assembled. And they didn't properly disassemble our office center, and splintered the wood supports that hold the hutch onto the desk. And all of those boxes that we had painstakingly labeled with the color-coded tape with the rooms printed on it, the boxes ended up randomly piled in the garage and never made it to the corresponding rooms in the house. At quitting time they guys had to go home for the night, and Two Men left us with a huge mess left to deal with. I ended up renting a Uhaul to finish the job that Two Men and a Truck did not complete, and have yet to get the office furniture repaired and assembled. Moving is a very stressful situation, and I was counting on Two Men to make the process seamless for us. Sadly, they just managed to make it more stressful. read more
