Pretty good food. Non existent service and one waitress in particular was incredibly rude AND SHE WASN'T EVEN OUR WAITRESS. I don't think they really care for outsiders. There is like ten options on their menu and they're all over priced but their isn't a lot of options in Garden Valley. My suggestion? This was our first time at this local restaurant and owners Rob and Liz were an absolute delight!! Rob is also the chef and everything we ordered was hot, tasty and served in a timely fashion. He even came out to personally greet us and ask if my 3 year nephew needed some fries to hold him over until his dinner came! Our rib eye steaks were cooked perfectly and tasted great. I highly recommend the Marion Berry cobbler and the Creme Brûlée, both are some of the best I've ever had. The atmosphere and food is levels above the Dirty Shame Saloon. My husband I were looking for a place to celebrate our anniversary while we were staying at a cabin nearby and were recommended here by a local. We went with another couple and didn't make reservations so we had to sit in the bar, which was empty. My husband ordered a 1-4 well gin martini, I ordered a Grey Goose martini and our friends ordered a gin and tonic and a white russian. The drinks were very slow coming. When she finally brought them, my martini was the same color as my husband's, 1-4, but it was still delish. For an appetizer we ordered ribs, which everyone raved about. We had salads that were a mix of spinach, green leaf lettuce , sliced tomatoes and huge delicious crunchy croutons. One of my friends had the French onion soup and she was very pleased with it. For entrees we ordered the scallops, a pork chop with a mustard Cherry sauce, and prawns. The scallops were dredged in flour and browned in butter with some lemon. They were fork tender and cooked perfectly. The pork chop was also cooked perfectly and the sauce was amazing! All of the dishes were served with French cut green beans that were sauteed in butter and maybe a little more cooked than I would like. The highlight, to my husband, was the rice, which is clearly made in a homemade broth and had a possible hint of cinnamon. For dessert we decided on the creme brulee which was recommended by the owner. She claims that vanilla mules get the vanilla beans from somewhere in Central or South America. It was probably the best creme brulee I've ever had. Overall I'd say this was one of the best restaurants I've been to outside of a big city. read more

The environment was nice. We sat outside in the patio. We arrived at about 830. The service was excellent. The servers are running their butts off, always a smile on their face. I ordered the prime rib, only end cuts available, which was fine. I was told it came with a red mashed potatoes and squash. The cut of meat was big but it was not like prime rib. It was so salty and cold! I didn't send it back but it was literally pulled out of the fridge and warmed up...so disappointed for 24 dollars. I didn't get mashed red potatoes but a rice pilaf (rice roni) type deal. It really was the worst prime rib I've ever had and I don't believe that was the cut of meat they gave us. It was more like pot roast. The service so good though. I'd give them a second chance. My boys got the ribs and they enjoyed them. Maybe a second chance? read more

I have been to this restaurant, twice this summer. The first time, the service was horrible, though the food was okay. We thought, they must have had a bad night. We tried it again tonight, because everyone deserves a second chance, right? Our experience was the very same experience as our first visit. Horrible! We won't be back again, and we won't suggest this place to anyone else. When you enter a public restaurant, you expect to be greeted right away. Both visits, we stood in the front lobby, totally ignored by the owner's wife and daughter, for several, long minutes. Neither would even look up at us, to acknowledge we were there. Finally seated, it took probably another 15 minutes for our waiter to acknowledge us. He at least then, smile and told us it would be a few minutes. After several more minutes, we ordered one of the day's dinner specials to split between us, and an appetizer to go with dinner. We never received our appetizer. The food was less than expected...and cost more than we were told upon ordering. The place has great potential, it has a beautiful view of the mountains off it's outdoor covered dining porch. It sits in the center of town. It needs to be realistic about the cost of their dinners. And all staff who interact with customers, need to have some training in hospitality, learn how to greet each customer, ones they know as well as those they don't know. Your customers are paying for the experience while visiting your little town, as well as the food. Hire people who like people, people who understand a happy place makes for happy customers. Your grumpy workers need to be fired! We won't be back. read more

Our group stopped by for dinner after a whitewater rafting trip. We quickly learned that the restaurant is a family-run operation, with mom serving as hostess, the daughter as waitress, and dad as the cook. The first thing we noticed was that there were no burgers on the menu, but our waitress later went through burger options when telling us the evening's specials. We were also surprised to find Korean kalbi beef and Japanese yakisoba on the menu, next to more traditional fare like prime rib and pasta. Having lived in Asia for nearly 20 years, I asked about this, and the cook came out to introduce himself and explain that he changes the menu frequently, putting the things that he enjoys cooking on it. I would have gone for the kalbi, but the popularity of the jambalaya - which had sold out by the time we arrived - had used us the restaurant's supply of rice, so I opted for a bacon cheese burger. We were served fresh-baked bread, which was delicious. My son's broccoli and cheddar soup disappeared in seconds, as did his spaghetti. Our burgers were fantastic also. The highlight of the meal was the marion berry cobbler a la mode, which we had for dessert - big enough to share, but so tasty that you don't want to. Service was exceptionally friendly, and it was a great treat to meet the chef and hear about his experience at the restaurant. All in all, we couldn't have been happier with our choice of dining venues. We took a look at the breakfast menu, and it looked so good that we considered driving back from Boise the next day just to partake, but we decided to save it for a separate outing, when we'll bring the extended family A gem of a place that makes food from scratch and with high-quality ingredients. You can taste the love and care that goes into each meal. I hope the kalbi is still on the menu the next time I'm back. read more

Reading negative reviews about this restaurant and the owners really surprises me. Both my husband and I have gotten to know the chef and his family, and they are wonderful people. I know they go out of their way to ensure that the firefighters (when they are in the area) are fed, and turn out a huge spread during the holidays to make sure people are fed. As far as 'competitiveness', well, its a small community...I think there is always some of that in any town. As long as Two Rivers is in Crouch, that's where we'll eat! I have eaten at the two rivers grill a few times now, once when they were in the smaller building, and a few times now that they have moved into a larger establishment. This place itself is the homey, log feel you get from most buildings up here. The owners are friendly and nice- each time we eat there they have come over to talk with us, ask about our meal and how we are doing. The food itself is great, they don't have a huge menu, but what they lack in size they make up for in diversity- they have everything from yakisoba to pots de creme. It surprises me that another reviewer was unhappy with the halibut, as I have heard that this is especially delicious from the restaurant. In fact, they are usually sold out by the time dinner comes around (at least from when I have been there). Oh and there is also a bar. Anyways, I am a big fan of the Two Rivers Grille- we are headed there for dinner tonight! read more

We live in Boise but spend a lot of time in Garden Valley and always make it a point to eat at Two Rivers. The quality of the food and service is fantastic, even when comparing it to the options in the Treasure Valley it's one of our favorites. I've never had a bad meal there and most of the staff is very friendly. The chef is extremely friendly and often comes out of the kitchen and checks with diners on their meals. Garden Valley is extremely lucky to have such a quality establishment. read more

For some stupid reason I chose to eat here again with my daughter. We both got the same menu item except mine had chicken in it. The pastas came out super quick, not really enough time to cook chicken fully, but either way we were starving. We both ate and a few hours later I woke up violently ill and proceeded to be sick and emptied my stomach. Something about that chicken wasn't right in the first place and now I know I was right. What a great restaurant! We had the bacon cheeseburger and it was possibly the best burger we have ever eaten, with a half pound of Angus beef cooked perfectly and a generous slice of cheddar or homemade pepper jack cheese. The service was excellent and the owner was very friendly and kept checking to make sure we liked our meal. My son and I visited this restaurant for dinner on October 24th 2015 during a father/son weekend in Garden Valley. This restaurant was incredible. The owners both rolled out the red carpet, made us feel at home, and brought us great food. My son is gluten free, and they explained to us that nearly all of their menu items have gluten free alternatives to wheat. We ended up going back for lunch before leaving town the next day. It is a pleasure to enjoy a meal at this restaurant. The food is prepared by experienced chefs who obviously take pride in their work. The soups, meats, fish, veggies, salads, deserts, sandwiches all arrive exactly as one expects; with great seasoning, nice presentation, and timely service. This is not a "hamburger and fries" restaurant but they serve those and other similar items without a problem; and they have a breakfast buffet on Sunday which is always fantastic. The seafood is fresh or not on the menu which means it is always grilled or baked to perfection. There is a full service "Cowboy" bar and a well rounded wine list to accompany any meal as well. The owners are fun folks and have supported the town and local events with enthusiasm and participation. There are two patios to enjoy when the weather is nice and when it seems a bit cold or dark the interior is warmly welcoming in good 'old cowboy fashion.
