This place was so dirty! After sitting down and ordering breakfast, I noticed how dirty the place was. You could see dirt on top of the hanging lights, and ceiling fans, plus the floor was dirty and there was a wet area where it looked like someone spilled something. It makes one wonder how the kitchen was, where your food is made! Most of the available tables were dirty. In addition, the pastry display was displaying some slices of pie that have obviously been there for some time and not fresh looking. The service was not all that good. She never asked how our food was, never checked on my husbands coffee (he never did get a refill). Food was good but they really need to clean and work on their service. read more

I am pretty sure that my fiance and I both have worms after having chicken strips! We were in a hurry and only had a short time for a quick lunch so ordered something basic. She wanted tots and onion rings for me. Waitress comes back and let's us know they are out of tots. About 10 minutes later she returns and let's is know there are also no onion rings! Usually something that should have been aware of at beginning of the day. When we finally get food her fries and my sweet potato fries are both under done and very greasy. The chicken is hot but not cooked, has that delightful rubber texture. The table we say at was sticky and had food on it(we didn't notice when we first day down) The iced tea and Pepsi were pretty good! read more

The first time we went there, food was mediocre but service was great. Went again at lunch, there was one server and a dishwasher who was helping. The place and table smelled (and felt) of grease. The special of the day sounded pretty good...a BLT with guacamole on focaccia bread. Sounds tasty, right? Ordered ice teas...just plain. Waited. And waited. Aaaaaaand waited. Got our drink. No refills offered to us. Plates came, bread was wonderful. Guacamole was a squirt of green stuff. Bacon and French fries tasted just like the place smelled. I had to excuse myself to the bathroom. Soooo...I'm looking forward to trying the other places in town. However...my man loves their cinnamon rolls. So 5 stars for that. But I'm not putting it in the stars! LOL! read more

What I like about the Corner Café and Bar is that it's that sleepy old café in a very small Idaho town where everybody knows each other. It looks like there's only a few hundred people that live here in this community and it's very quaint. The service was great and the food was OK. I noticed having been in the food business that the ham steak that I got, while flavorful, was a water packed ham evidenced by the little empty craters created when the ham is injected at high pressure. The eggs were over easy just like I like them. The biscuits and gravy that I got had pretty good flavor and the biscuits were huge. Very bready, more like a roll than a biscuit, and the gravy seemed to be lacking in meat. Other cafés in the area have what appear to be about 40% sausage meat in various chunks whereas this gravy had about 5% or less of meat in it. It was hard to actually find a chunk of meat. Overall it was a good experience. Comfortable seats, rustic Decore and cozy ambience. I did happen to glance over at the pie case on my way out and saw some incredible looking pastries in there. Mostly pies and I will definitely be trying those if I get back soon. read more

Our family stops at the Corner Cafe every time we travel from Boise to McCall. It is a great family-owned, family restaurant. Each meal is made to order. Very good Chicken fried steak....the tots are amazing. The hamburger buns are homemade. For breakfast has thick slab bacon cooked PERFECTLY......and ohhh their dessert Baker is amazing! During our most recent visit, they had chocolate layer and peanut butter cake and a chocolate covered cheesecake. Always a treat stopping at the Corner Cafe! read more

Went in tonight about 7, since it was Memorial Day it was pretty slow, it was us and two other tables one of which was already eating. I got the chili cheeseburger which seems straightforward enough. And then it arrived. The top bun cut in half, the entire burger SWIMMING in chili! The entire burger was impossible to pick up. And I would have used a knife and fork...had one been provided, but it wasn't, I had to grab my own from a table that wasn't occupied, but there only two sets and five diners at our table so three of us had to make do without. We were checked on once during our entire meal and it was within minutes of receiving our food. I waited for 30 minutes to get a refill on my soda...and never received it. Since this was the 3rd place we picked to eat and the only place open in town I would have expected better service, but it was terrible. I will never be back there again and I genuinely feel sorry for the people of Horseshoe Bend that have to eat there. read more

The cafe was a nice surprise! It doesn't appear like much but had a decent menu. They served breakfast until 2pm and even offered the best vegetarian sandwich on focaccia bread that I've had! They also offer live music and a full bar. Kid friendly dining. What more could you want. read more

Could easily be 4 star based on the food, but it's sooooooo slooooooooow. We spent over 1-1/2 hours getting breakfast, and that was hastened by hunting down the wait staff for our bill when we wanted to leave for 20 minutes and hadn't received it. They had to ask us what we had eaten because the ticket was lost. When we asked for our bill the waitress made a point of ringing up another table, then bussed it before coming over with our bill. We saw a waitress gnawing on leftover food from a diner's plate, which we thought was rather crude. Stop in if you want to wait a long time for good food. read more
