Trying to be a cute, throwback candy store with limited success. Pricey, but not for AMI. A note for my fellow Michiganders: they have an ice cream labeled "superman", so I got it, obvs. Then I tasted it and to my chagrin it tasted like a lifeless vanilla. I asked them about it. Sure enough, they just add food coloring to regular vanilla ice cream. The horror! Everyone knows superman should at least be blue moon, if not the traditional three ice cream blend of vanilla, lemon, and raspberry. For shame! read more

Excellent little ice cream shop on Anna Maria Island, offering a variety of both classic and unique flavors. While there, I sampled the strawberry (creamy with large chunks of strawberries), blueberry pie (very reminiscent of the actual dessert, with blueberries and small bits of pie crust mixed in), salted caramel (rich and creamy with just the right amount of salt), and strawberry cheesecake (favorite! strawberries and real cheesecake bites mixed into sweet cream). I opted for the latter on a waffle cone, which treated me to two delicious scoops; and my husband chose a classic chocolate malt. Both of us were incredibly satisfied! They also boast an assortment of unique crafted sweet treats, like various popcorns (white chocolate and cinnamon almond were the two that grabbed my attention), fruit candies, and chocolate covered blueberries, just to name a few. All in all, a fun place to grab a cone and shop around! Our total for our ice cream too was just over $7.00, which we found extremely reasonable for the quality and the amount we got. Neat little place by the water, their ice cream is homemade, not the best ice cream I've ever had, but tasty nonetheless. Prices are reasonable, and they have a nice variety of flavors and others things to eat and snack on. The cookies and cream flavor ice cream I had left me wanting for more cookie flavor, but other than that it was good. I came in around 5:05 to get sandwiches and ice cream for my family. Their menu stated that they were serving sandwiches until 6pm but when I asked the employee for a sandwich they said they stopped serving them at 5pm and said the sign was wrong and was not willing to make us sandwiches despite it being just a few minutes after this made-up cutoff time. Also, none of the employees were wearing gloves or masks and were serving ice cream and other food. Went down the road to another place that was happy to serve us and everyone was wearing protective gear. Do not recommend. read more

The blueberry pie ice cream was amazing! I generally have a hard time finishing a scoop but this changed today

I would start by saying that I would love to have given this a five star smacker, but unfortunately, I can't. We drove 286 miles one way for their brownie sundae. As I coasted down the 75, all I could do salivate onto my left thigh, yes, basically drooling at the thought of my 9 teeth sinking/diving into a savory/moist portion of deliciousness. Upon arrival and 4 hours later, destiny happened. We pulled in between the two white lines around back of the goody shack (aka two scoops lol) and instantly was greeted with signs and billboards to order around front......stroke one. I had to walk all the way around the side of the building just to get to the front. Let me back track just for a sec. I burned and used three quarts of 5w30 just to get to this joint. Anyways, I mosey around front and noticed the menu. I glanced at it, pretending as if I didn't know what I wanted. But BAM, there it was.....chocolate brownie sundae. I politely told the young lady what I wanted and before I could get the word BROWN....IE out of my mouth, she cut me off and told me that had no brownies left. Instant buzzkill. I immediately turned away and jogged back to the car for a Marlboro. I continued to punch myself in the face for being so dumb not to call ahead of time. Some of the best ice cream I've ever had, with huge serving sizes and low prices to boot! So many flavors, my four kids had trouble choosing! We ended up going three times during our vacation and sampled a wide range of the options. My favorite was cookie monster with caramel pretzel sea salt a close second. The ice cream was really good but is the same served at Dips right down the street. The service was Terrible though. They were very rude and yelled at us to get out and go eat outside, then thought we stole ice cream, and then messed up our order and argued about the order. Two scoops? Two stars! This place needs a manager on site at night. The teens running the counter have a serious attitude problem. They're lucky that there are limited options for families at 8pm. The place was packed and they don't have a great system for crowds. There are only three tables inside, each has a bunch of seats but are taken by parties of two. Plan to eat your pedestrian ice cream outside. Go to dips on the other side of the island or make your own. read more

MINORITIES PLEASE READ - absolute horrible experience, we walked in with my kids when they were serving people, after the last group left there was nobody at the counter for almost 10 minutes. Another group walks in, still nobody at the counter. They even have cameras so you know someone is there watching the place. Older lady comes out, no apologies and looks at us like they've never seen someone from another country. We buy our ice cream, no thank you's either. Do not go here and waste your time. Went here with a friend of mine to grab lunch before hitting the beach. The food was good and not too badly priced. The feel of the whole restaurant was really cutsie and chipper however there was an older woman working behind the counter who was quite the opposite. She wasn't very friendly and made my friend and I both feel like we were stupid for being there. Sorry doing your job is such an inconvenience.
