The cowboy shrimp is a MUST ORDER!!! Delicious and the sauce paired with the focaccia is end game. I got the grouper tacos - perfectly blackened and a kick of flavor! We spent the day at the beach and had dinner at the Sandbar after. Valet was $45 for dinner and the day at the beach. The atmosphere was fine and the service was great! We started with the coconut shrimp. It was good. I got the hogfish with polenta. The polenta was excellent. For me the hogfish was just okay. It was very thin and the fry didn't have much flavor. We also had the shrimp and grits which was fantastic! It was super rich I am glad that we split everything. It was so interesting to have one dish that lacked flavor and the other to be bursting with so much flavor. Overall, the experience was good a little pricey but that is to be expected on the beach. We decided to make a stop in Anna Maria after our vacation in Siesta Key, and we're so glad we did! The food was absolutely delicious, and everyone in our party of seven enjoyed their meal. I ordered the char-boiled octopus, and it was cooked to perfection. The flavorful sauce paired beautifully with the smashed potatoes, making it one of the best dishes I had on our trip. We visited over the Fourth of July weekend, so the beach was understandably packed. One of the biggest perks was the restaurant's complimentary valet parking for up to two hours. They also offer all-day parking for $45, but the two-hour valet was more than enough time to enjoy lunch and take a quick dip at the nearby beach. Our server Zach was terrific and very attentive, he suggested the Cowboy Shrimp from the appetizer list and it was delicious. I ordered the Lobster Roll as it has been awhile since I've had one (Rhode Island 2020) and it was just as good! My wife had the Shrimp and Grits, also a very good choice. They don't require reservations but we made one anyway because of the distance we're traveling. Dogs allowed in the outdoor dining area and they offer valet parking. We went here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon with friends. It wasn't very busy and we were seated right away. The interior looks like it's been redone and was quite nice. It's right on the water so the view is terrific. We had the shrimp flatbread ($19) and the red snapper catch of the day ($38). The snapper was done just right and came with steak fries and delicious coleslaw. The toppings on the flatbread were fine but the bread part was overbaked and hard to cut. It was flavorful but hard to eat. Portions were generous and service was prompt and courteous from Madison, our server. I'd give it 5 stars if it wasn't for that flatbread. Amazing view!! I came to Anna Maria for the day and stopped by Sandbar for a late lunch. It was so nice to be able to still "be on the beach" and have a refreshing meal. We were just here last week once with a party of 8 then two nights later a party of 26, ten teenage girls and sixteen adults. Same amazing service and ambience. I pulled into the parking lot with open spaces and got waved to valet that i didn't need. checked in and was seated within 10 min. We were seated in a very tiny booth when open tables were available. The restaurant was full of people talking louder than what is necessary in such a small space. to put it bluntly, what ambiance? We told the waitress this was our first time dinning here. We ordered drinks and crab spinach dip 22$ appetizer. We were not told it was a portion for one person. We then ordered chicken tacos 24$,we were not told that if you were gonna share you should order two, and shrimp platter 28$ and a "bowl" of clam chowder. After 30 min the clam chowder came out cold and in a cup. The waitress fixed it and removed the 9$ charge from the bill. when the food arrived 15 min later it was also portioned for one person 2 street tacos with 3oz of chicken if that. the shells were dry and crispy, like day old. The shrimp meal looked portioned correctly but my daughter would only say it was mid. When we returned to the valet, i could see my vehicle and could have easily just got in and drove away, but valet extortion cost. i also noticed my windows were down on my brand new vehicle in a dirt parking lot. Overall they need to advertise artisan restaurant and explain to people they don't serve portions accustomed with the price of the food. Two thumbs down would not recomend. read more

FOOD: very small order of Calamari with a bland red sauce, Chicken nachos hardly had any chicken on them, and there was only enough salsa & guac on top for 1/2 an order. Cost $50 to park. I had a whole cooked sea bass and it was completely without any seasonings and dry. No sides at all - $38 - I've had better fish sticks - the worst seafood meal I've ever had. Service was great - sitting on the patio facing the sun was hard and very hot. Cocktails good, beer served in plastic cups and got hot very quick. Very overrated place. I spent $650 for 6 adults and 2 small children. I'm embarrassed that I went there, but never again. The Waterfront is 10 times better. What a joke! read more
