Tyler's Gourmet Ice Cream was our last stop when we were in Anna Maria Island yesterday. It's right in Cortez which is the next town over after crossing the bridge off the island. Its location is in a small plaza, but at night it's pretty dark with minimal lights outside in the parking lot. This location is long and narrow and there's about 6 tables. When we came it definitely got crowded, but we snagged a table. They don't appear to give samples. I didn't see anyone getting any nor did I see any sample spoons. Most of the ice cream looked soft and I don't like that. Only really one or two flavors caught my attention also. I did choose a one scoop sundae with rum raisin and I had pineapple as the topping and it comes with whip cream, nuts, & cherry. I shared this and I'm glad I did bc the scoops appeared to actually be the size of two regular scoops. It was ok and again bc of it being softer than I like. Is that perhaps because they say it is homemade? I have no idea. The service was nice and there were about two or three of them when it got busier in the night. But I most likely won't be back. There's always ice cream around the area with it being close to the beach. read more

What an Ice Cream Shop!! We recently stayed on AMI and we noticed that Tyler's seems to be everywhere! So naturally when we saw the shop... we had to stop! We walked in and were instantly greeted by Ava. I consider myself somewhat of an ice cream addict so between myself and my kids, we had about 30 questions. Not only did Ava answer every single one patiently, she did it with a smile and a SERIOUS ice cream knowledge! She even knew what to say so my daughter didn't throw a fit about toppings. Employees play a huge role in my reviews and she's the big reason Tyler's got 5 stars. Outside of the fantastic customer service, Tyler's ice cream is DELICIOUS! I got the trash can which is vanilla ice cream slammed with 5 different chocolate toppings mixed in. Throw two scoops in a waffle cone and you have MAGIC! My kids/wife got multiple other flavors and were more than happy with theirs! If i get back to the AMI/Bradenton Beach area, i will definitely be back to Tyler's! read more

Tyler's is a place we visit often! Great location with easy parking. Lots of indoor seating. I am surprised they don't have anywhere to sit outdoors! But you can stand on the patio if you'd like. They have great sorbet options if you can't have dairy. And the ice cream is incredible, very rich and creamy. The shakes are delicious as well. I thought the shakes are a little on the pricey side, but they were worth it! I finished my 16 ounce shake in a matter of minutes lol. Check them out! read more

Came here with my husband and two kiddos after the beach on a summer Monday afternoon. Perfect little spot. About 7 smaller tables. Was about $20 for the four of us and they had SO MUCH to choose from. Its clean, the employees are friendly and it was very good. Absolutely recommend this place. read more

Good place to feed your ice cream craving. We were returning from the aquarium in Sarasota. There are about 25 different flavors. Pretty traditional flavors. Nothing funky, like Salt and Straw in Portland with Blue cheese ice cream. i enjoyed the Mississippi mud which is coffee with cookies and fudge. I also tried the lemon cream and that was a refreshing flavor. There was something a little odd with the service. First, the lady took a while to appear from the back. Then, she left after she served us. Five minutes later another employee walked in. The only thing is he did not know what kind of tops went on the ice cream. My daughter did not finish hers and wanted to bring home the rest. Not a huge deal, both employees were nice. read more

My husband and I ate here twice while on vacation and it was our favorite ice cream place for the week. The people are extremely nice and helpful and the ice cream is super flavorful. I had both the butter pecan and the coconut and enjoyed both. My husband had the Heath, Mint Chocolate Chip and the cookie dough made into sundaes with Reese's Pb cup, whipped topping, caramel, nuts and a cherry on top. The coffee crunch (Heath Bar bits) shake we had was fantastic. Maybe best ever. Very reasonably priced as well And $1 flying saucers?????? What!!!!! They call them ice cream sandwiches. They have yymmy gourmet waffle cones dipped in chocolate and toppings. Also chic bananas and fusge dupped pineapple. I got a small bag of waffle cone chips for 50 cents. A little disappointing of a visit. The ice cream is very soft almost melted. I personally ordered a hot fudge sundae. The young girl made it but forgot hot fudge‍ she asked if she could top my whip cream with hot fudge‍‍ "on top of the whipped cream?!" Okay, no! I asked if she could put it on the side instead. I proceeded to watch her load this little bowl with tons of hot fudge. Nice gesture but ugh. She handed it to and I had to ask for the cherry on my sundae! She was very nice and apologetic but it still sucked. So basically I ate ice cream soup because it melted so fast. My man had a scoop of coffee chip and chocolate chip and it was mushy soft not fully frozen. Good flavors but the whole experience just missed the mark. read more

We've been going to Tyler's over 8 years now. For my girls it remains their favorite ice cream(blue moon and chocolate). For me, I sit on the fence. I notice the portions are inconsistent and the amount of toppings in the ice cream can be non-existent. On a recent visit, I ordered a tropical sundae with strawberry ice cream. The girl behind the counter scooped me near liquid ice cream. It didn't hold form at all in the bowl. I should've stopped her, and did not, so that's on me. However it was terrible and I paid for ice cream not well kept the next day. That being said, we will return, just will refuse any soft ice cream. read more

Being responsible, you take a lactaid and check the hours prior to leaving. Closes at 9pm and it's 8pm now. Perfect. You hit the road, lactaid swallowed and at roughly 8:15pm you arrive to sadness. The shop has closed 45 minutes early. The kids are crying, the lactaid is wasted so you turn to yelp. Only to learn that their ice cream is always melted and the servers serve nothing but negativity. Tyler's has been at this location for a very long time, and is also actively involved in the community. The atmosphere is very "local" looking and the entire front of the shop is glass for a nice view. We decided to give them a try after eating at Village Idiot Pizza in the same plaza. To sample the most ice cream we possibly could handle, we ordered the largest sundae on the menu, which set us back about $7.00. The Three Scoop Sundae was it--- and we went with three different kinds of chocolate based ice creams, covered in different types of crumbled candy bars, hot fudge, and nuts. While the toppings were all great, the ice cream was very bland and overly sweet. Basically, it just tasted like sugar. Also, it melted very quickly and even before when completely frozen was softer than most ice creams. The whole experience made me wonder exactly what is in the ice cream for it to have such a consistency and melt so quickly. I really wanted to like this place. Gotta say "wow". If I did my math correctly Tyler's has 48 different flavors not including the different drinks they will make. It was honestly hard to pick one flavor.
