I'm Still thinking about the pecan bar, ya'll. It's almost been a week and I can still tasted the sticky sweet roasted deliciousness of this part shortbread bar. It's sinful and oh-so-good. I was also super impressed by their vegan chocolate chip cookie. We also ordered two lattes and the almond cake for the road. This is a carryout only bakery with a small storefront that limits only two customers in the space at a time (as of July 2023). The service was friendly and down to business. You can tell they keep a steady flow of customers. Two Sticks is located just a block or so off the main square of Bloomington. Run, don't walk, yo this amazing bakery!

Great spot for coffee that I feel like isn't talked about enough. All their coffee syrups are Housemade which include honey caramel and brown sugar cinnamon syrup. Only place I've seen so far that has Housemade syrups instead of just store bought syrups. Amazing. The coffee flavor still really shines through even though by the color I felt it would be a little too milky. One of the top places for coffee now in Bloomington.

Cinnamon roll and samosa were so delicious I would come back just for those!!! Wasn't too impressed by the frittata and lemon blueberry bruschetta. The coffee was great too, and friendly staff! A must stop if you're in the area. Go double on the samosas!

I am IN LOVE WITH TWO STICKS. They have the BEST CHEESECAKE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY WHOLE LIFE. Not exaggerating when I say they make everything to absolute perfection. It's a necessity to come here every time I'm in Bloomington! I got 2 cheesecake pieces (only one is pictured because I ate the first too quickly), piece of vanilla cake (so thick), blueberry danish (SO DENSE IT WAS FABULOUS), peanut butter blondie (superb, so peanut buttery), and lemon loaf slice (I'm picky about lemon flavored things but this was just the right amount of lemony).

My sweets took me to Two Sticks Bakery this morning ! They're a small establishment, right now they have heavy covid restrictions. Only two people are allowed in at a time. They have a counter that showcases their baked goods and they also serve coffee. The waitstaff was absolutely cheery and made me feel welcome. We both got coffee, forgetting to add the cream from their cream station. It was still absolutely delicious ! I typically don't drink black coffee, but it honestly didn't need anything added to it. The cinnamon roll was actually the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. It definitely outdid Cinnabon. The icing tasted like a buttercream with an added citrus flair. The roll itself was packed full of flavor and very moist ! We took our coffee and enjoy it whilst walking around a nearby park. Definitely recommend !

Two Sticks continues to impress. Such a great bakery. Friendly people work there and the two owners are terrific. Went by on Friday and had a (huge) chocolate chip cookie and a delicious mocha. My partner had a cappuccino and two of the (NEW) flourless chocolate mint cookies. She loved the cookies! The only thing that could possibly improve this awesome local women-owned bakery is if they baked bread. Bloomington really needs a decent brick and mortar bakery that makes good bread. Love you Two Sticks!

This picture looks like crap, but it was such a good pie. It is called a sugar cream pie and it is Indiana's state pie. The crust is also divine. It is flakey and well made. This is crème brûlée in a pie. It is perfection. The staff was friendly. I am willing to bet everything they make is good!!

Two sticks is my family's favorite bakery in town. The cinnamon rolls and cheesecake are hands down some of the best we've ever had!

I know they were experimenting with some…read moreitems with dairy a while ago but I did not notice any non-vegan items while I was there, so not sure if that's still a thing. Anyway, it is a little out of the way. It's walkable from downtown but not really in the downtown core. Pretty quiet when I was there, but the atmosphere felt approachable. Some of the chairs were like school desk chairs (adult-sized, of course) that I haven't seen since I was in primary school which was kind of funny. The guy at the counter was cheerful and friendly. They looked like they had run out of some of the hot savory items by Saturday mid-afternoon, but there was still a wide variety of sweets. I believe the current owners are Indian, and you see some of those flavours featured. I got: Samosa handpie: Good, not mind-blowing, but good. Nice flavours. If you like a flaky crust, this is not it, but I liked the rustic pastry crust. Pistachio cardamom donut: Loved it. Before I moved to Bloomington, there were a few bakeries that offered vegan-GF cake donuts that I loved, and this was the first thing I've gotten here that reminded me of that. Pleasant texture and strong cardamom flavour, not too sweet. I think these are baked donuts, so they're a little different from regular fried donuts, but in a good way IMO. Rose dream latte: Milk with rose syrup topped with coconut whip and nuts, no espresso. Tasted great, but more of a dessert drink than I was expecting. The coconut whip was quite thick. The concept could probably use some refinement, because the whip was too thick and rigid to drink without a straw, but the nut pieces were too big to go through a straw, and so I couldn't figure out the best way to drink it. From what I understand, there are some longtime fans of this place who feel like the quality has dropped since the most recent change in ownership, but as someone who had never been here before, I really had a good experience. I get why people would be upset when something changes, but if you are considering trying this place for the first time, I wouldn't be too put off by the negativity around the change in ownership. There's no other place specialized in vegan baking in Bloomington, so I think it's good to support what they are continuing to do here, and even though I am partial to vegan food I wouldn't say that if it wasn't also GOOD. They also had some refreshingly unique options for baked goods.

The owners, a Sikh family, gave us their cardamom donut for free. The samosa hand pies were out. I would rate it 4/5. The decor was nice, and the owners were friendly. We were told that the staff is limited, and the owners themselves are thinking of selling this location and hoping to restart it in Greenwood, where they currently live and actually drive down to Bloomington every day. The matcha latte was fine. Everything was fine but not great. The vegan chocolate chip cookie was good, but could've used more chocolate chips.

One of the most revered items they make is the Special K Chewie, a glorious concoction of cereal, peanut butter, and Karo syrup. Ask any IU alum and chances are that he or she will rave about them. Sweet, chewy, crunchy - these no-cook cookies are fantastic. It's hard to believe that such deliciousness can be had for just $1.09! I know they make other cookies, but this is the one for me. When I mentioned that I now lived out of state, the staff told me that they can ship them to me. What?!? I really shouldn't know this, it could be dangerous. If you have reason to be on the IU campus as a guest, student, or traveler, make sure you stop by Sugar & Spice for a quick breakfast or afternoon snack. I made sure there were also some Special K Chewies in my bag for the drive home!

The cookies and muffins and cinnamon roll just seem to melt in your mouth (I'm sure lots of butter is involved). They even have a very good vegan coffee cake! The drinks are not great and consistency is not the name of the game. Maybe the coffee is better than the tea, but the chai tastes more of sugar and cinnamon than tea, and the matcha was very murky, but maybe that's because I got the strawberry matcha and that affected the colour. It didn't taste bad but just didn't taste like quality matcha. They have decent teabags, but the brand and selection varies and is not what's listed on the menu board. They can do a tea latte but don't always have teas that work well with milk. I like the iced tea they make during the summer better than the hot tea. They sometimes have bubble tea, which is made with a machine and is decent (as far as artificially flavoured tea goes) but very sweet. It's a complete gamble as to whether or not the bubble tea machine will actually be on at any given time. I tried to get it in the evening once but was told they usually power it down around 6, so came back around 4:30 next time, but it was off again. I finally did manage to get bubble tea a few times around lunch time and in the morning, but there have also been days where they don't turn it on at all despite displaying the posters for it. Tapioca pearls are on the menu but they seemingly never have them, only the popping pearls. The baristas are students and are sometimes friendly, sometimes not. I would guess there's a combination of high turnover and poor training because some of them just seem very confused. They usually do okay at keeping the line moving though. I come for the baked goods, and just get a drink while I'm at it because I don't want to wait in another line at Starbucks even though I actually think Starbucks makes slightly better drinks.
