Was back in the area for the holidays and stopped by the box stores and looking at stores. And as we were hungry, we looked at Yelp for some recommendations and came up to this place we hadn't been in before. We loved it. Two stones may be a small chain but our has as the feeling of a stand alone pub. And it's popular as heck. We got here shortly after 1 PM and the place was quite frequented. Great ambiance and merriment as people were having a great time. Families, singles at the bar, groups. Dan was our waiter and he was awesome. He took us through the different brews and recommended a great IPA. He came back with two great tasting brews. Then for the main foods, I had a delicious chicken taco plate that was superb. Food was great...service was "eh". Holiday season so there was a wait (no problem). Seats opened up at the bar, so we went there thinking it would be easier/faster. Nope. I think we were invisible. We sat there for a while. Not once did the bartender either ask us if we wanted a drink or a menu. I went back to the hostess and she was able to seat us at a table. Quick review, definitely worth the visit, food, service and staff were great. Don't let there unassuming strip mall locations deter you. They have several great local regular and seasonal brews on tap. My only complaint was their pricing for a flight; 4x 4 oz sampler was almost twice the price of their most expensive beer in the sample and three times the price of the least. The manager was kind enough give us a free dessert, we chose the bread pudding (with ice cream) flat out one of the best desserts I've had in a long time. The manager was very receptive to our concerns and suggestions, they may even include the flight pricing on the menu in the near future. Though I'd just suggest asking for a few taste tests since they are free and picking your favorite over a few visits. read more

Once again, I have someone telling me I "haveta" try the Foie Gras burger at Two Stones pub. When these statements are made to me, I try not to judge. If they consider Applebee's Jalapeño poppers life changing, I usually smile and go about my business. But when someone says Foie Gras and Truffles to me in the same sentence? Somethings cooking. (See what I did there?) Waking in, I'm greeted by the hostess. I'm told there is bar seating but theres a wait for a table. The bar it is. A cheerful bartender greets me and gives me a few menus. I told her I drink Allagash beer at home, I see a grapefruit summer beer that looks interesting. She comes back with two tasting glasses. The IPA grapefruit beer had too much going on. How the hell do you pair an IPA with food?? I'll stick with my summer Allagash thankyouverymuch. I place the order for the burger. I'm told it comes with chips but for an upcharge, the truffle fries are really good. Take my money and truffle me!! The burger comes to me quickly. It's a nice brioche bun topped with fig jam and Arugula. The patty, is a little thinner than what I expected but has very nice meat blend. And there it is, a nice size piece of Foie Gras. It's a piece of heaven on a plate. What's throwing it all off? Why are there bacon strips on a burger of this caliber? It's like seeing lipstick on a pig, it doesn't belong. I took off the strips and moved them to the side. First bite? Man, that is a well designed handheld burger. And the truffle fries with the aioli dip?? This gastropub would be typically seen in Williamsburg Brooklyn than Wilmington. Great job everyone, fantastic burger. There's a guy sitting at the end of the bar, he orders the bread pudding. What a relief to return and find that the mushroom soup is still hearty and on the menu! You need the calories before walking around Longwood Gardens, which is a few minutes away. Pretty good food and friendly service. I had the broiled double hot dogs - I loved the pretzel buns and the chili (my first time trying chili so I have nothing to compare it to). I love love love Two Stones. Can't go wrong with anything in the menu and the seasonal options are great too. I always recommend the sweet heat wings, an in house delicious sauce. The pork nachos are amazing! Topped with delicious queso, beans, scallions and more. Other appetizers that always hit the spot are the pub pretzels served with queso & beer mustard. The burgers always taste great & are served with your choice of a side. The draft list is lengthy and the bartenders can always make a good recommendation for you! The two of us went on a Thursday afternoon around 6:00. It wasn't crowded, but we chose anyway to sit at the bar. For drinks, we ordered a fruity cocktail and sour beer. The cocktail was great! For food, we ordered the soft pretzel, pork tacos, and cheeseburger. The pork tacos came out first, and then the pretzels and cheeseburger came out at the same time, which was kind of odd. The pork tacos were good. The pork was flavorful and the shells were soft. The soft pretzel, although small in size, was warm and salty, just how a soft pretzel should be. Unfortunately, the cheeseburger was awful. We asked for it to be cooked medium and it came out undercooked. We sent it back and they cooked us a new one. Although the new one was cooked enough, it was so salty! It wasn't a great burger experience. The bartenders were nice and provided decent service, but at times it was difficult to get their attention. I didn't have a great time; my experience was slightly below average. But I think 2SP has great potential and will give them another chance in the near future. read more

Two Stones continues to blow me and my wife away with their consistently amazing food and beer!! Tonight I had the Porky's Revenge Mussels and they were amazing. My wife had her go to, the Foie Gras Burger sans Foie Gras, with an upgrade to the truffle fries. To drink, she had Liquid Alchemy In-core-rigible and I had an Equilibrium Galactic Time Wave. 2SP Stacked Nachos hit the spot every time. I get them to go with everything on the side . Pulled Pork, Chorizo, queso, black beans, salsa fresca, Avocado Crema, fresh jalapeños. The staff and management really go above and beyond with service. They are very friendly and accessible. We go often and like sitting in the bar area and also in the booths. They have adapted very well to the pandemic with cleaning, check in wait list in your car, wearing masks and making everyone feel safe. The food is consistently great. I usually order the asian wings and chips and guac. The chips are thin, but a good thin with a nice flavor and perfect for dipping. The burgers are juicy and delicious and a decent size. They also have a specials menu with seafood or meat and its nice to have variety. We came to Two Stones when looking to buy our house and fell in love with the restaurant. They could have made it so much better with a wine or Madeira sauce. Needed something acidic. Fish & Chips were underseasoned with a spongy coating. Couldn't get through one piece. Two Stones Wilmington is part of a small, local chain of pubs. This location is in a little shopping center with Safeway and Little Caesar's. It's safe to say it's unassuming. They have a primary food menu but also offer a special seasonal list. Their beer list is as diverse as their food. They seem to also have a special arrangement with 2SP Brewing, as their logo is all over the place. The beer list is great and seems to rotate. I was sad to miss the Burley Oak peaches and cream, but they did carry a sour by the brewery in cans. That's pretty cool. They also have typical beers you'd expect to see in Delaware, like popular suds via Dogfish Head. To start, I had the pretzels. They arrived in four long rolls. Super filling. I wrapped one up and ate it as a snack the next day. The pretzels come with a slightly spicy mustard and cheese sauce. I actually preferred the mustard, believe it or not. For my meal, I ordered their double hot dogs and got the chili on the side (I forgot to even try the chili). I was totally stuffed after one dog. It wasn't the best hot dog of my life, but it was a respectable piece of meat nonetheless. I'd return to Two Stones if I found myself in the area again. read more

Really enjoyed Two Stones. First of all, they're open for lunch. You've got a star without doing anything! I walked in, super clean place. Lots of cool beer gear, including a Two Roads "Roadsmary Baby" sign that I also own. Double win! Of course, everything could have gone south from here, but it did not. The hostess/waitress were splendid. I enjoyed my Allegash, but my Grilled Chicken BLT was the real winner. Man, that was a good sandwich. My salmon was so visibly salty I cut the top of the fish off. I would not go back to this restaurant due to the high salt content. You couldn't even enjoy the food it was so salty. I got the feeling this was a typical fast food type restaurant where most of the things are prepared and delivered frozen not prepared fresh by a chef. Nice find. Have wanted to try this for a while and glad we finally did. Was in the mood for a burger. I asked for it medium and cooked perfectly. Brioche bun. Could have used a thicker piece of cheese, but I was happy with it. Wife got the fish tacos and liked them. Friends got the ribeye and a burger and both were happy with their meals. Got the tandycake for dessert and very good recommendation. Ryan was our server and was friendly, upbeat and very helpful with recommendations as it was our first time. Amazeballs. I had a great app, a great entree and two delicious draft beers. We call that the headline. Now, here's the rest of the story. While there was a brief wait for a table, there were a couple of spots open at the bar for me to enjoy a Dogfish Head draft and wait. Halfway through the beer, my table opened up and I paid that tab and moved over. A great waiter was not disappointed that he'd missed out on this first beer, but I assured him that a second one would be ordered soon. But in the meanwhile, I ordered the "Hot & Spicy fries" to start. A good portion with some pepper jack cheese, some chopped green onions and a good amount of sriracha on top of crispy fries was tasty. And a half portion is definitely enough for two as a starter. For main, while the specials tempted me (BBQ pulled pork with mac & cheese? Braised short ribs?), I decided on the jägerschnitzel. A very large portion of pork in a crispy batter was excellent. In fact, too much shnitzel that I left a big piece of it behind, which made me sad. Very tasty, really yummy. The side of blaukraut (German Red Cabbage) was nice and tart. The spätzle was also quite good. But it was the shnitzel that really killed it here. Delish! A very filling meal with good service in a nice pub-style restaurant that had free wifi? Awesome. Better late than never review! I would definitely return back to this spot when I return to DE, especially since it's so close to the office I visit! We got the chips and guacamole, which were quite tasty, however the guac was super limey (maybe a little too much). I got a salad that was super good and also filling (that's a tough balance to find!). And of course - a ton of Delicious beer to choose from. The best part was the prices were super reasonable!
