While on a pleasure trip to NYC Jan 2018 I suggested my son and now fiance do some information shopping in the Diamond District. There was no intention to purchase on this trip. And most stores made it easy to maintain that goal due to poor customer service. However the staff at Two Tone provided excellent customer service, exceptional information, with no pressure to purchase. They knew how to make the Bride to Be feel special and gave all the expertise needed to help with decision making And once the special ring is found one cannot walk away. They offered an exceptional deal. My son recently had a local jeweler appraise the ring and they could not say enough good things about the quality of the ring and diamond. The appraised value is $5500 with a purchase price of $4000. To speak to a previous review regarding loosening of the smaller stones. Our local jeweler did tighten some prongs on the band stated that this is normal, especially with 18k gold and suggested having it checked every 6 months. They also stated the loosening should decrease with time. My only negative is lack of documentation even when requested. The only thing my son received was a handwritten receipt. I'm a firm believer that your jewelry finds you and when I walked in I saw a ring unlike other rings that I had seen. It was quite unique and when I asked try it on and it fit perfectly. I was given a price and I said I would think about it. No pressure from either of them and I went about my day.....I returned several days later to try on the ring one more time and was able to negotiate a fair price for both of us. The ring is gorgeous. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. My fiance and I were looking for engagement rings and I found one that I LOVED. He bought it for me and I ended up losing 3 small stones in 9 months. To be clear, I have a desk job--it's not like I am doing heavy duty work that would warrant losing so many stones in such a small amount of time. I took it back to see if they could build up the prongs, and they just said that it was because of the style and type of ring and it's "normal" that I lost those stones and it "happens to his wife all the time." They said there was nothing they could do to fix it. I asked if they could replace a stone and they did with something that was OBVIOUSLY not the same as the others and stuck out like a sore thumb, I took the ring to my family's jeweler in DE and they were able to build up the prongs and I have NEVER had a problem since! Needless to say, we bought our wedding bands in DE. These guys do not honor what they sell and were obviously giving me bullsh*t information about it being "normal" to have missed so many stones and that there was "nothing" they could do. Never again. EDIT: To your comment below, my ring was not damaged (I had only had it for 1 year) and you never said it was when I saw you. Also, if the prongs were really worn down (which they weren't) that is another red flag considering, again, I had only had the ring for barely 1 year. To be clear, you only replaced 1 stone-- it was different from others which I was able to identify with the naked eye. The other 2 stones I had replaced elsewhere because I did not have trust in your business after having so much trouble with the ring. When I asked if you were able to do prong work, you said nothing could be done and that the ring was just "delicate." I never wear my rings to the gym or even when I am washing dishes/showering, etc. I was able to take my ring to another jeweler to replace the stone you had put in and build up the prongs (which I paid for and had no qualms doing so). That jeweler confirmed that the stone you put in was different and they also did not mention any damage to the ring (because there was none). read more

My husband had researched the Diamond District prior to our trip but Wwe didn't really know what to expect. We found Two Tone Jewelry. Ken and his wife Stephanie showed us a beautiful diamond tennis bracelet and gave us a good price. We said we wanted to look at other stores before buying. We were turned off by the hustlers trying to get us into their stores and the sales pitches from the sellers. In addition, Two Tone has unique pieces, not mass produced like we saw at other jewelers. We went back to Two Tone the next day and bought the tennis bracelet. I had the bracelet appraised and it appraised for over twice what we paid for it. I have since then bought many pieces. It's always a pleasure to see Ken, and now his son Matt is working with him as well. I won't buy or have repairs done anywhere else. read more
