Her pricing is good. Her design is great. Communication and follow through is lacking.

Leon & Lulu are the owners' dog and cat. I discovered that when I told my associate, Susan, that I…read morewas taking photos for Yelp. I was then given an impromptu tour that I truly enjoyed. The store is full of eclectic and vibrant decor that will speak to the hearts of artists everywhere, ranging from clothing, to furniture, to toys and museum quality gifts. It has a variety of quirky finds that I've never seen before. The intention here is almost like a local gallery exalting each stunning piece of art, no matter how small. The pieces ranged from the very tiny porcelain dog, which was about the size of your thumb, to the very large bears, that were furry and taller than me. Colorful, diverse art dotted the walls and were displayed in all different living room themes for all different tastes and styles of home. This was a clever idea. You could picture the decor in your own home. "Buy local" is the intention here and deteriorating properties were bought up by the owner and given a stunning facelift to elevate the community. This was a closed down roller rink. There was also a cinema next door that turned to a gift shop and off beat eatery. The unique history of each is preserved in the original artifacts throughout. Being that this is art focused and unique, don't have the expectation of Walmart prices. Of course you're getting one-of-a-kind quality pieces that will make your heart sing when you see your selected art displayed proudly in your home. Leon & Lulu also will give you a discount for your birthday if you share that information. If you're in Ferndale, Clawson or Detroit, put this store on your must visit list.

If you're looking for something unique, funny, fun, or more of a traditional purchase then this place is for you. We were able to purchase some very cool gifts for friends and family that were tailored to their personality. The shop's staff was very friendly and helpful when we needed them and they were also pretty available when we needed someone even though they were a bit busy. As for the prices I would put them on par for a place that sells the selection that this place has. You can find some items that are cheaper (not cheaply made), and other items that are pretty high (saw a pillow for around $300 ). I will definitely be putting this place on my list of shops to go for the next time I need to shop for friends and family!

Incredible experience at Nadeau Furniture. The prices are outstanding, easily one-third of what…read moreyou'd find at Pottery Barn or Restoration Hardware, with the same quality (if not better). Everything is handmade by artisans, solid wood, and full of character, not mass-produced furniture pretending to be special. The new owner spent nearly two hours helping me sort through options, explaining woods, finishes, and layout decisions. He has a degree in interior design, and it absolutely shows. That experience is why I ended up buying everything for my condo from him except the sofa and bed. They don't carry sofas and offer headboards only, but for dining, storage, tables, and statement pieces, this place is unmatched. Locally owned, sustainably made, and genuinely special.

He was defensive and dismissive to my question, and then became pretentious: Speaking about how interior designers would recognize the character in these pieces and how their customers get the pieces stained to their tastes. He also reeked of cigarette smoke. Not at all what I'd expect from a store on the outskirts of Birmingham. They had actually had a lot of really cool stuff in there, but I would never give my money to a place that employs such a jerk! Good luck!
